Loveliest of Trees... from Fluttershy’s PoV?

I’ve been writing a story from the female’s PoV, and it’s really interesting and fun. It presents a challenge with first person, which is losing the omnipotence you have as the author, and also not projecting omnipotence into the character themselves. It’s challenging but fun.

I'm not dead (other fanfic plug)

I'm not dead. I've been hard at work on another fic. It's an Azur Lane romance fic told from Jean Bart's PoV. I've been super invested in it, so I apologize for ignoring the stories on here. I don't want my momentum on this story to die, because it's been getting great feedback and is a new challenge for me.

A Pirate’s Crush Ch.1 (Azur Lane Jean Bart Romance Fic)

*My name is Jean Bart of the Vichya Dominion. I'm the Dominion's strongest battleship, who needn't rely on anyone but myself. Yet... I've found myself completely infatuated with my commander. I have no clue how this happened. Just the sight of him turns my confidence into a mere facade, yet that feeling is like a drug to me. Confusing and aggravating would be a couple ways to describe it. Now, he

The Duty of a Secretary Ch.2 (Azur Lane SiriusXBelfastXCommander NSFW Fic)

If you care about this fic at all, then Ch.2 was released yesterday. Hope you enjoy. Here, it starts to get quite steamy ;)

Azur Lane NSFW fic - The Duty of a Secretary

I had inspiration and began an Azur Lane fic called The Duty of a Secretary and wanted to leave a link in case any of you were interested. Nothing blatantly explicit yet, but it's gonna get VERY steamy and sexy in future chapters.

Don't hate me for slacking on the MLP fics. My mind is very sporadic and I jump between projects depending on what I'm feeling.

Fluff Series Survey - Which One's Your Favorite? · 7:33pm Aug 21st, 2016

Well, Sitting in a Tree is no longer featured. But it was really cool while it lasted. 100 likes in 2 days? Again? That's amazing!

I never expected this series to be so successful! I mean, they've all been featured, at least if you turn the mature filter on for the first two. It blows my mind. Seriously. Thank you all for your support. It seriously means the world to me.

So allow me to ask you all a narcissistic question...

Which oneshot of the fluff series is your favorite, and why?

Pinkie Pie: A Cupcake for Your Thoughts
Rarity: Thunder and Lightning
Applejack: The Apple of My Eye
Fluttershy: A Bunny a Day
Rainbow Dash: Sitting in a Tree
Sunset Shimmer: ???
Twilight Sparkle: ???
????: ???

Also, any idea why this series has become so popular? I'm not complaining at all, but I just don't get it :twilightsheepish:

My personal favorite out of all of these, which in my case means the one that I enjoyed writing the most, was Applejack's oneshot. Not only was it my first real feature, I feel like it's the most developed of them all as of now. The relationship growing from friendship to romance throughout years of knowing each other. I feel like there was a more definite conflict with losing your best friend by confessing your feelings. That's a huge risk to take. I should know. I did it once, and I failed, thus losing a friend. It hurts more than you may think. So Applejack's oneshot is my favorite, but I'm really happy with how they've all turned out.

And any tips for how I could make the makeout scenes a little more interesting and less formulaic? I tried with the last one, I really did, but I just can't seem to break my habits. Any tips anyone?

The next one might not be out for a while since classes start tomorrow, but I might have more spare time than I think. Or not. We'll see.

I'm really looking forward to hearing your responses. Again, thank you so much for the amazing support. You all are the best followers ever.:raritystarry:

Mine's got to be A Bunny A Day. You always manage to capture Fluttershy's personally perfectly, and it stayed spot on in that fic.

I liked Thunder and Lightning, A Bunny a Day and Sitting in a Tree. I loved more Rainbow's story.

I have to agree with you on applejack's one. If felt to me that it was a lot more real because friends could grow up to be lovers.:ajsmug:

Yep applejack is the best

Applejack's, I'd say. Had better prose than those before it (RD's had about the same, though perhaps a little more variety), felt a little more mature in its style, and typically avoided the majority of the cliches in the genre. Felt like you gave it more respect and time to the story itself, particularly with the characters.

Either A Cupcake for Your Thoughts or Sitting in a Tree.
Well, I like Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash! Plus, I enjoyed the writing, the various jokes, and the endings were fun.

Though, I can't wait for Sunset's Fluff.

They're all good but I agree that Applejack's story is the best one in my opinion. It is very relatable to anyone to have feelings for a friend they grew up with and have fear of losing them. :ajsleepy:

Anyway, I can't wait for your next story of the series, especially with Sunset in it. :raritystarry:

Definitely Apple of My Eye.

Obviously, mine is #8: ?????. :pinkiecrazy:

Actually, Applejack's was my favorite. It felt very natural and developed (not that the others weren't, this one was just more so)

Apple of My Eye, hands down.

It was a fun story to read and was very cute ^w^

Cupcake for your Thoughts, and Sitting in a Tree.

First off, I don't think the question is narcissistic. Second, I'm pretty sure that Thunder and Lightning is my favorite so far. Aside from the fact that Rarity is probably my favorite character in the show, I thought the whole story was fun to read (especially with the calculus thing at the start), and I just thought it was very cute and warm-hearted, despite how unrealistic it may or may not be. Now, I don't know why this series in particular would garner so many likes and shit, but I do know that I like it because I tend to like romance stories more than anything else on this site, if that means anything to you. Lastly, the makeout sessions I've always found to be hot, so that's about all that matters to me. If I were to suggest something to add (pardon my language), maybe some clit rubbing through pants?

4163461 I appreciate the advice, and I'm glad you like the makeout scenes, but this series will contain no clop at all. Okay, the butt groping may be pushing it a bit, but flicking the bean (or flicking her bean, giggity) is a no-no.

My favorite has to be Sitting in a Tree for two reasons.

1. Rainbow Dash is best pony, imo, and

2. I did notice you actually trying to break the mold of the make-out scenes. Granted, it wasn't too different, but I liked that RD got handsy in a way that was different from the rest of the girls.

As far as the make-out scenes themselves go, I believe the only way to improve them would be to remove some of the limitations you've set for yourself. There isn't much you can get away with when you write it as a Teen rating with no sex tag. i think that simply adding that sex tag and letting Anon get a little farther up the shirt would be a good change of pace without removing the Teen rating (though I can understand if you aren't comfortable writing that. Celestia knows I'm having difficult with some similar situations I have planned in my own writing, and I haven't even made it past writing the prologue yet).

Or, if you're feeling really ballsy (which, if I had your recent successes, I would be), you can bump it up to mature and just kinda let things happen. You don't have to go full clopfic with it, but I think removing these limitations can do wonders for adding variety.

But at the end of the day, it's your story. Do what you feel is right. If you decide to keep the formula because it works, I'm sure people will still read it. Make-out variety or not, you're a talented writer. Just keep doing what you think is best. We'll support you.

I shall wait until all are done before saying:pinkiehappy:

Maybe Sitting in a Tree? It may just be because I came up with the basic plot, but I still liked it because it was more developed. Rainbow Dash is awesome:rainbowkiss:

As for the last question (yeesh, some of the other suggestions...) I think that you might want to tone it down a bit? What your doing isn't a bad thing, but it could change things up if you tried to keep it light. After all, they've only known each other for a couple days. But, I guess you could also leave it on a romantic note (is that a thing?) and end where the reader has to guess what happens. Like the main character might see them the next day, etc...

"The Apple of My Eye" followed closely by "A Cupcake for Your Thoughts". Of course, this is subject to change, since you theoretically still have at least two more to write in this series.

Meh, it was worth a shot, but I get it. Keep up the good work tho.

Probably a bunny a day, but they're all so good.

Rainbow's was my personal favorite, but I love the whole series. And as for your question about the popularity of your series, the answer is simple. You do such a tremendous job at capturing the personalities of each character. I can literally picture them reacting exactly how you write them. I've read many stories involving the Equestria Girls, but I dare say, yours are by far my favorite. Easily the best EG stories on this site. Thank you for sticking with it, and congratulations on your success thus far! I eagerly look forward to seeing what you do with Sunset Shimmer!

I would have to go with Pinkie's. My pinkie biest aside, I liked how it mutual from the beginning. Pinkie clearly liked us from the start thats why she was doing what she was. Then we realized that we liked her too and the rest is history.

Tho I do agree Applejack's did feel the most real out of all of them its easyer then you may think to fall in love with a close friend.

Anyway man keep it up and let the good times roll.

Rainbow Dash's one, just because it ran so smoothly and all her actions and dialogue suited her so well :rainbowkiss:
And it was an amazing story too :yay:

I loved Applejack and Pinkie Pie, though I love the Rainbow dash one too!
