    It's late

But my brain isn't quiet. I'm stoned out of my goddamn gourd. Don't worry, it is just my usual regimen of drugs. That's how I spent a lot of my time now. Wasted. Doesn't really help with the pain much, but makes it a bit more tolerable. All of my drugs cost over 5 grand a month. That's what it takes to keep me going. I'm in somewhat better shape because of all of it, and there's a few bright

    Cyborgification is potentially a-go

Finally found a doctor that didn't run screaming upon seeing my spine images and xrays. The team is coming together. Met with the neurosurgeon the other day, and he thinks I am an ideal candidate for augmentation. The transition is happening, I think. I still have to pass a psych evaluation and other steps, but I am closer now than ever. First I'll have the trial run; they'll sink electrodes into

I suppose it is time for an update

Been meaning to this, and I've become the King of Pro-Crasty Nation. I kept wanting to report, but there was nothing to report, no good news at all, so I just... didn't. Sorry. Went a bit silent on my end. It just sorta happened.

I finally got a lawyer willing to take up my case. After that, things started happening.

Party analogues · 3:54pm Jul 28th, 2016

So... Venenum Iocus, for those of you who are reading it: party analogues.

Tarnished Teapot: Fighter/Mage/Druid. Maybe? I dunno.

Maud Pie: I keep thinking monk. I mean, the thought is there.

Vinyl Scratch: Wizard. Definitely wizard.

Octavia: I keep drawing a blank here. I honestly don't know her dynamic yet. I mean, I have plans for her, but I just don't know where she fits in as far as party analogues go. I'm stumped. She's cultured, she's smart, she's charismatic... but I have a hard time seeing her as a bard.

So... let's all nerd out in the comments below and spitball stuff until something sticks, eh?

There are different types of Bard. She could be the Archeologist type.

She could also be a Rogue. They are heavily Int- and Cha-based.

Is it wrong to picture Octavia as a Bardbarian? 'Octi Smash!' as she slams her cello onto the heads of the enemy. :pinkiecrazy:

Maud is absolutely a monk. Four Elements Monk, with a focus on Earth - element abilities.

Tarnished is probably Sorcerer/Druid multiclass, with the Lucky feat.

I´m not reading VL...yet. But Octavia, sounds (HAH !) like a bard for me.

A Cleric maybe? May not be applicable in this case tho since most Clerics Ive run across in stuff worship some higher Divine of some sort. Tavi didnt seem to be the "Worship her holy pony-ness" type.

Hmm also possible her to be an Assassin class or theif. Do to them usually being portrayed as cultured and charismatic.

Granted i have not read the story yet but do plan to at some point.

Anyways those are the two I can see her as besides bard.

Hmm...some sort of paladin would work as well, or swordsmare of some kind as they have basicly whatever trsights you'd like because they don't have to be tanks.

I saw Octavia as a monk for awhile due to Jittery the dragon on deviant art. Ponies play Pathfinder was funny. X3

4118115 Assasin class using a music instrument as weapon, you say ?

I think Rogue is closest for Octavia... a knowledge class that uses smarts and savvy to succeed...

But not exactly an actual rogue because I do not know if she uses guile, or backstabs. Same role in a traditional party though.

Tarnished is sorceror? A magician who is magically limited but charismatic, implied to practice more than study. The he's mutliclassing.

4118125 why not? The world is ruled by magic after all. :rainbowlaugh:

Plus gorrote wife can easily be hidden among bow strings.:pinkiecrazy:

4118215 No magic.

KUNG FU !

4118261 crazy magic kung-fu (I love that movie by the way)

She could be like Aragon from LOTR a ranger with amazing skills. Kind of an everything kind of horse that holds great power at bay because of fear that she might hurt someone or because of something in her past that she doesn't want revealed at this point.

Still don't know what game standards this is. I'm assuming D&D, which I have not played. But I'm thinking Octi would be a bard, no?

I don't know about your Octavia in particular but a lot of portrayals of her have her possessing a positively terrifying rage streak underneath her cultured demeanor. So a couple levels of Barbarian could be appropriate.

I think Vinyl would be more an arcane trickster than a pure wizard. For Octi, I'd say a highly charismatic scout with a good degree of play instrument (cello and Vinyl)... or a scout/bard hybrid.

I think Tarnished Teapot: Wizard 2 / druid 3
Maud Pie: Monk 5
Vinyl Scratch: Bard 3 / Wizard 3
Octavia: Bard 5 / Brawler 2
im using the Pathfinder rules because i now them better
i am using some archetypes for them.
Maud is a Monk of the iron mountain ( because DUH)
Vinyl is a Thundercaller Bard ( she can hurt them with her Bass and Wubs)
Tarnished is a Primalist Wizard (his spellcasting is a little bit Chaotic) and a Treesinger Druid ( they have a special bound with Plantlife and can get a plant companion )

Pathfinder > D&D.
Octavia as a Brawler would be cool, or maybe Skald, the Barbarian/Bard hybrid that empowers and enrages allies with her songs.

Tarnished is definitely not a Wizard. I could see him as an Oracle, multiclassed with Sorcerer, prestige into Mystic Thaumaturge ( Prestige class that allows him to blend Arcane and Divine Magic).

Vinyl is an Arcanist, a Wizard/Sorcerer hybrid that's learned like a wizard but creative like a sorcerer.

Maud is a monk. Possibly with some Earth kineticist in there too, but definitely mostly monk.

As for archetypes monk of the Iron Mountain definitely works for Maud, and there's definitely a monk Style kineticist that relies on ki points and Flurry of Blows and the like.

Oracle is great because they start with the curse and then learn to overcome in overtime. Great for Tarnished. Plus it uses Charisma as does sorcerer so they're great to multi-class together

Tavi could be a warlord (I know a lot of people didn't like 4th ed) pretty much a fighter wannabe class with a few charisma related skills.

Teapot is a Factotem, DnD's version of what the bard used to be, but in a more balanced form. Has access to a little of everyone else's abilities and a few of their own.
Maud is definitely a Monk, a Ranger, or a Gestalt of the two.
Vinyl is, from little I've seen, a full Bard going down the various music-centered Prestige Classes and picking the best parts to keep for herself.
Octavia is clearly a Paladin, using her music and actions to worship a goddess in ideology, not in ritual.

Oh, and Celestia's is a Gestalt Wizard/Barbarian specializing in fire spells and brawling.

Honestly I'd roll more with a freeflow system, FUDGE or FATE, considering the way Unicorn magic has very little to do with D'n'D's Vancian Magic system.

The problem there is that there is no class system in FUDGE or FATE, instead character have a High-Concept (What they are), a Trouble Aspect (What causes them conflict), 5 phase aspects (which 'detail' their life), and a number of Refresh points which can be spent on stunts (Non-magical powers), and Supernatural Powers.

So an example (from the "Dresden Files RPG" which is one of the first, and most successful FATE books)

Harry Dresden's Character sheet

4124402

Neat. I have no idea how Tarnish would translate into that system.

4124406

I have no clue on his Concept and aspects, but Powers wise probably

Channelling (Water) [-2] (He can only really do regular unicorn water magic that quickly for it to be considered evocation)
Ritual ((Theme) Hoodoo) [-2] (Ritual magic is the sort of stuff that takes 5 minutes to get off the ground, high complexity, awesome effects, creating complex Wards and crafting items falls under this as well)
Sponsored Magic (Atavism/Nature) [-4] (So long as it falls within the purview of nature magic he can pull off fully complex Evocation, and Thaumaturgy, probably breakdown like Earth, Water, and Spirit magic)

which comes out at a cost of -8 refresh
