As of today, I'm switching to publishing new chapters in the morning.
However, due to Fimfiction's coding, the new chapter isn't showing up in the updates box, and may or may not show up at the top of your feed.

Alright, that's good to know.
I'm not following the story myself, so I don't know how it's showing up to other people. It doesn't look like it put the story in the recent updates column, probably because the updates came so close together.

Several functions of the site dont work properly for me as it stands. Site notifications (the little pop-up thingie) stopped working for me ages ago.
It updated in my read it later list. I did do a test just a minute ago because I was curious why most updates were not in my feed for any story.
Only those stories that get checked as a 'favorite' (the default favorite shelf) show in you feed.

I had the same thing happen. I think if you push new chapters more than once every 24 hours, it won't show in the Updates list, and isn't eligible for the Updates Feature Box.
I suspect, at least.
Notification showed up just fine, but then it's Sunday evening here.
Damn. SGJ during breakfast was nice.
