Looks Like We're Gonna Have A Fight After All · 2:53pm Jul 19th, 2015

Time has been called and Skeeter's contest is now in the judging phase! I was feeling pretty good about my chances back when three were only three people in the contest, but now there are seven total and some of them are in the big leagues. horizon in particular regularly trounces me in the Writeoffs, so I expect his story to rank highly. I find it interesting that I seem to be the only one who interpreted the contest as needing a story that could actually be an episode in the show.

I intend to read all the contest entires, but I don't intend to break my method of deciding what stories to review. Since spideremblembrony actually bothered to review my story, I've decided to throw his in as a Request piece, which means I'll get to his much faster than everyone else's. I may consider taking a week to just review the contest entries, though.

In the meantime, One Night at Fluttershy's has been very well received so far and I'm thinking about writing another just like it. I can't say much about the story just yet, but I will note that it would star Pinkie and Rarity.

But first I aim to start work on my Nightmare Night stories. Yes, I'm getting to them that early. My aim is to write another three to add to my Sweet to eat collection, but to be honest I'm running short of good ideas. Maybe I'll have more as the date approaches.

Yeah, that's it. Looks like I didn't have much to say today. That's what happens when I take a break for a while.

For what it's worth, Titanium Dragon gave Horizon's entry a "Not Recommended." Then again, it's rare that he ever actually likes anything. :trollestia:

Totally not related, but damn that piece of art might be my new desktop. :derpytongue2:

How very true.

I don't think I was aware of that contest... Does Skeeter run those frequently? Or is there another place you generally look to find out about contests?

3251538 The fact that he reviewed it at all is a glowing checkmark in the "Good" column. I think he's only 'liked' one thing I've ever written, and yet he still reads my stuff and follows me, despite my admitted flaws. He also upthumbed Twilight Sparkle vs The Equestrian Cutie Mark Constellation Registry, which is an amazing bit of worldbuilding by Estee.

Someone else informed me of the contest, that's all. I typically don't pay attention to them because they tend to distract me from the projects I should be working on.
