Hey there, folks! I'm sure a lot of you are probably wondering, "What, wait? Didn't this guy die, or something?" right about now, and to be fair, you're kinda-sorta correct. For all intents and purposes, the original Fimfiction Drama guy IS inactive, and therefore, "dead" by internet reckoning, which is mostly the reason this whole thing was left to rot for a while. But, there's a silver lining to it all, you see; the guy that used to run this account recently handed over control of it to us.

Who is "us"? Why, we're the Foal Free Press, of course. (You could also shorten it to F2P, FFP, or hell, even "The Press" if you want.) We're pretty much a "Fimfic Drama 2.0", if you will; taking a casual and biased-as-fuck drama reporting system to the site, except we do all of our articles on our own site, so we can technically get away with it without repercussion. You may or may not have heard of us, but the point is, we're ruthlessly raping, pillaging and otherwise taking over commandeering this account, with the consent of its original owner.

Yep, that's right. We've been reporting on the site for months, and only now do we actually bother getting an official foothold on its territory. Embassy, I suppose? Eh, point being, now we're gonna be conducting some of our business on the Fimfic side of things as well.

Now, we know that the original Drama Guy (I'm totally calling him that from now on) was more-or-less shut down by the mods fairly early on in its run. Not actually shut down, like, he didn't get told "cease and desist, cis scum" or anything, but he still got shafted pretty badly. Namely, they kept him from doing articles on users that wouldn't give consent to be reported on, and he'd have to ask permission from all parties involved, barring the ones that are banned. Now, see, that's not ALWAYS gonna be a problem, and it was sorta-reasonable (if a little bit bullshit because, well, does journalism IRL work like that at all?), but it makes things a bit... tedious. Boring. Not to mention frustrating, if some noteworthy a-holes refuse to give consent or whatever. (Remember, kids; there's no such thing as bad press!)

So yeah. Foal Free Press is merging with the Fimfiction Drama account. What can you expect from us? Nothing TOO special, since I'm guessing those old rules would still apply, but maybe we'll toss up the odd status update or link to an article now and then, or whatever. We also have a twitter-thing, so, go follow that for updates and such if you want.

I'm clearly writing my weight's worth in gold here, so I'll just toss the rest of this over to Minkie to wrap up. She'll explain some of our plans and intentions for the account as well, since that's what unpaid interns do, right? Anyway, she'll also be handling control of the account and blogs from now on, so, you'll just have to put up with her. (By the way, our Drama Report system isn't an anonymous complaint box. If you wanna bitch about it, at least have the 'nads to bitch to our faces, that way we can properly laugh and ignore you.)

Let's hope we don't accidentally burn down the wrong thing this time, eh?

From the (virtual) desk of,
~Karma

Alright guys, Minkie here. I'll try and be quick and wrap this up for you, since Karma up there isn't known for brevity. I imagine plenty of you are wondering what's gonna happen to the account now. Well, some things are new, yeah, but many things are still gonna be the same. I'll just be quick and list 'em down here.

1. The drama reporting thing will function the same as it did in Fimfic Drama's days. We already have a drama reporting form on our site if you prefer anonymity, but we'll also accept any reports sent through PMs to us.
2. I've reviewed the rules outlined in the PMs we've received from moderators. To that effect, I think it's within the rules if we simply don't write our articles here, but continue to post updates and such regarding the site. (Jury's still out on whether we can link those articles or not, but we're not a NSFW site (technically), so it'd probably be okay. I might have to ask, though.) We might still use the account for asking certain members questions and inquiring about certain events, however. And maybe stalk a story or two, I dunno.
3. Since the account has been handed over to us with no strings attached, to use as our own, I think it stands fit to see that this account be touched up and reworked a little bit. Mostly edits to the userpage and avatar, though I won't change those right away; might be a good idea to leave them up, at least until people know what's going on and all. Eh, hell with it, I'll go and change those now. Might as well do so. And we'll hang on to the old blogs for archival sake, too; saves me from rewriting a lot of stuff, anyway.
4. As for our site itself, Foal Free Press, you can find it here. You can also find the FAQ here. Our site may look decent, but it's more than likely gonna change, since everything's always a work in progress. We don't have a decent way of offering feedback beyond Fimfic PM or email (my email is provided on the FAQ page, or you can use the Fimfic Drama one), but if you have suggestions, we'd be happy to hear 'em.
5. You can also submit your own articles, reports on ongoing/past drama or editorials through our site as well, should you ever decide to do so. (I'm sure there are worse ways to spend an evening, trust me.) We're not actively looking for other regular reporters or writers at the moment however, but you're free to drop us a line on that if you're ever interested, and we might keep you in mind.

I also have a Fimfiction account of my own, but I'm not exactly doing much with it, so... eh. You can always PM me questions or reports if you want, I guess. At the very least, we promise we won't roll over and die for no reason anytime soon. (And that's hoping we don't get canned by the mods for this.)

And I'd just like to take a moment to lend our thanks the original owner of the Fimfiction Drama account for giving us this opportunity, as well. We'll try not to bugger it up, we swear.

Feel free to ask questions or leave feedback with your thoughts, if you want to. We're here to serve YOU, not just ourselves, and we'd appreciate it if we could gauge the thoughts and such of our audience. I'll do my best to answer any questions you have, also. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a thing to write on some ongoing drama as we speak...

FIMFIC DRAMA IS RISEN AGAIN

ALL HAIL

Hey, if they let me link my riffs in blogs, they'll let you do the same for your articles.

Awwwww yeah, let's get it on!

No, this cannot be! You're dead! I saw you die! You can't be heeeeeeere!

But seriously though, welcome back.

Well, that was a better response than I expected. I'd just like to thank everyone for their support. We know that drama isn't always a fun business to get mired in, and reporting it can be a pain, but... well, consider it a sense of duty that keeps us going. Some might argue that we aggravate further drama, some would claim that we organize trolls and haters, and some might even compare us to tabloids and crap; we won't hold those thoughts against them. Maybe this position makes us look bad, and maybe gives off some of the wrong impressions, but hey, we don't mind. Believe what you wanna believe. We'll just keep doing our thing.

I mean, hey, it's the internet. This is the day and age of doing what you want, when you want. And we choose to report on the drama, from bad to ugly, because why should people miss out on this stuff? It's not exactly a prestigious position, no -- hell, it'd look a little bad on a resume, wouldn't it? -- but if we don't do it, someone else will anyway. And, hey, gotta love that vocal support, too; it really helps make it feel like we're doing something at least sort of amusing for the people, in one way or another.

Cool, then. We won't chance posting the blogs here, so a twitter-like linking will suffice I suppose. Granted, that does open up the link blogs to commenting, which could always spur a little discussion, and depending on how those go it might be a good idea to be a little cautious about it. Since, y'know, it's all-too-possible for some people to start causing a ruckus in them. No sense in being reckless, having just barely gotten set up here.

At any rate, we'll be getting back to it real soon. I can imagine a lot of you guys have gone long enough without drama. (Or maybe you haven't, if we're reporting it happening all the time in the first place. I must be out of touch.)

EDIT: Also, I've reviewed the PM logs of people who have sent in drama reports from the past that were never posted; just want to say thanks to those of you who sent in all that stuff. We'll try and use them for upcoming retrospective posts sometime, since we've got a ton of stuff to work with now.
