...So remember that thing I said? Yeah... · 2:22am Jul 2nd, 2014
Ssendam and his story Casting A Shadow are making a liar out of me.
I had been done! I really had!
...But I can't just leave the (slightly creepy) challenge in his latest chapter unanswered.
So now the question is thus:
Do I mark The Life and Times of an Alchemist Turned Pony as incomplete, turn the last chapter into the Epilogue, and just release new chapters between the last one and the Epilogue?
Or do I release a new story just for this?
I leave it up to you guys! Tell me what you'd prefer I do! I have ideas either way.
new story, please. Have him travel to another dimension and act all powerless for tedirax, than kick his PUNK ASS!
I would say that this be a new story! I think Time Squid had it right and call this the War of Understanding!
I also vote for a new story :3
......Is it wrong that I want to hug and/or kiss you right now?
FUCK IF I CARE; The Life and Times of an Alchemist Turned Pony is BACK BABY!!!! YEAH!!!!!!
I'm voting new story.... A showdown of epic proportions between Auric and Teridax deserves its own story
That and he could call on a few old 'friends' to help him out.
I think a separate story, even a short one, is deserving for this challenge. Perhaps it takes place slightly before Auric and the other immortal's ascension into a new universe, cause that seems most likely.
I say leave it as is and work on the sequel to 'The Betrayed'.
~Crystalline Electrostatic~
Make a separate story for the epic war, invite the other guys mentioned in that chapter if they want a piece of Teridax, make a mass crossover, watch the chaos.
A new story, my good fellow. This will be a true collaboration for the ages.
2250094 There's at least one I know who would be up for fighting the Makuta!
I'll vote for new story, I like the way that "The Life and Times of an Alchemist Turned Pony" ended.
Yes! More Auric!
A new story might be the best option.
I think a new story is in order.
A 'clean slate' as it were.
Wait wait wait, there is now the potential for more Auric-based goodness? I say hell yes!
...if you want to, that is. As for new story or continuation, whichever feels best. I don't mind either way.
I've seen that story around a couple of times, but never really clicked on it because it seems like a Bionicle villain is just a terrible move, but you've got pretty good taste so I'll give it a shot. As for the question of "new story versus revising old one" it'd probably be a new story if you followed the format you used before. Each new "segment" of Auric's life prompted a new story. His arrival and life as Dullahan, his life as Auric Fulcrum and his takedown of Omega, and then his life as Pony Fulcrum. Given the segmentation already present, I think a new story is best.
Man, now I gotta read your stuff because of Teridax's creepy-ass hard on for Auric. Not like I already have other long stories sitting in my read later box.
(Why did that guy who writes mini-twilight have to post the entire thing at once? D:)
To be honest, I can't decide! I'd read it either way it went!
Therideneverends
Well, maybe you could make a entirely new story, with Auric, Dullahan, and the others as "Gods" in the new world. Of course, because two gods are ponies, there will be ponies, but we will have greater diversity in sapient races, and a new hero with Auric as a guide. 'Course, that's just me and my wishful thinking. Whatever you decide, you can count on me reading it.

Well, for my part, this cat fully supports this idea.
Ohhh, all the possibilities... *drools a little*
If you can't make an extension, I'd recommend him somehow getting dragged into the thick of it again in another story, perhaps highlighting crossovers and focusing on a collaborative story-line. I vote to keep Auric around though.
New story!
But not of Auric. See, you forgot the one about the 'ling in the US. The sequel to your first story.
Well, maybe not forgot, but it'd be awesome if you did that.
Auric is outside of time and space now, he can show up wherever he wants, whenever he wants now. New story.
And out of curiosity, what exactly was this "challenge" you were given?
This. All of this.
I am going to be honest with you, your series of stories was one of the few LoHAVs I still read because it changed into its own thing and I was actually quite sad when you cancelled the project.
I didn't comment on your previous journal because I decided to let sleeping dogs lie and move on, it was your decision and I could respect that, even though I thought it was wrong.
You had been relentlessly updating your stories over the course of a few months, hell I still remember when Headless, not Heartless was new. As someone who used to be a fast updater, I could appreciate your dedication. Then you ended it and timeskipped by a factor of thousands of years, it was jarring and disconcerting and personally I do not like how it ended at all. Surely there was SOMETHING that could have been done to unfuck the planet wide infertility problem, and gender ratio imbalance, something I disagree with in my own headcannon, but what can you do? To each their own. Hell that could have been a story in and of itself to dedicate a number of chapters to and a clean break from Fulcrum's usual shenanigans, (He had access to alternate universes, there was a way if he was bothered to go find it)
Short of you doing a seperate timeline, I'm not going to get what I want (=[) so that said I advise you mark your previous story as incomplete and post new chapters, using your stated end point as an epilogue you can pull out whenever you feel appropriate. (grrr, me no likey, Handyman smash) I honestly would prefer you to get rid of it, continue the Fulcrum timeline while starting the new verse as a seperate timeline. Which you can totally justify since multiverse, but thats just me being indulgent.
Really, my final piece of advice to you is this: whenever you get to feeling like you did last time, where you felt out of ideas and didn't know where to take the story further, it is better to place it on hiatus, take a break, have a kitkat, play with a puppy, and write something else for a while. Writing can be like crop rotation, if one field dries up, work on another until it gets better.
This please, though if you did it as a thing on the side whilst doing other things that'd be cool too.
could you factor this in somehow?
This dudes got some problems... Shit is super fucking creepy. I think Ssendam the Masked might have a couple screws loose.
Eh, I'm a little saddened you're not working on a new project. The Betrayed interested me a lot. This series had me for the first story but I didn't feel like continuing the story. It just didn't draw me in because I think I wanted something else or I just aren't in the mood for it. Maybe I'll come back sometime but I was hoping for something new. Good work but not my cup of tea for whatever reason my sleepy brain isn't willing to analyze right now.
When you are working on something new, grab me and I'll give it the same chance I gave Aulric because Betrayed was that good and Aulric was good but not my tea...then again maybe the problem is that I hate every tea I've drunk before. Maybe you should write a nice mixed drink or soda instead. Then I can say that that story is my kind of cocktail. God I really should go to bed :D
Edit 1 minute later: Now that I think about it. I really have lost a lot of interest in the LoHAV universe in general. I suffered the same thing through a lot of the Chess Game of the Gods universe as well. I got really interested in some of the stories and then said, "eh, these really aren't that interesting to me anymore. Time to find something different."
Edit 2: Would LoHAV be considered a universe or would multiverse be a more apt description? The LoHAV reality? What did I say in the original post about bed? Yes definitely a good idea.
Do it or we will scream
VIVA `LA REVOLUCION!!!!
Give him the bird.
I just (finally!) started reading Ssendam's story, and when I saw your reaction to his challenge, I could only think, well...
Glad to see more Auric!
