As I begin my 25th revolution around the sun, I’m inclined to think back to the very beginning. I was born at an early age, you see, and after the trials and tribulations of labor, the doctors congratulated my mom on a job well done. She turned to them, suspicious of whether they had pulled a fast one and were trying to dupe her with an oversized raisin.

My dad on the other hand, being the analytical engineer that he is, looked me over with contemplative awe. He looked my mom, and then looked at me; then back to my mom, then back to me again. And then he turned to the doctor and inquired about a return policy.

But alas, there was no such policy, but the doctors assured him that the noisy poop-machine before him was a very adorable delivery, and would set the standard for a sense of joy and accomplishment in life. It should be noted that delivery room doctors have rather fluid standards. There are times when their very survival can depend on it.

All was not lost for my parents, however, for a quarter century later they can celebrate my birthday with me, content in the knowledge that I have become what they always hoped I would be in life: employed, and out of the house. There are other life goals they might have set for me, but I’m certain those two were the big ones.

So as I look forward to the next 25 years, and the next after that, and so on and so forth, I look back on my earlier years with a fond smile, look forward with curiosity, and look around to the friends and family with me.

And look in the mailbox periodically, to watch for notice of a delayed return policy from the maternity ward.

So, you're probably wondering, what does this mean for pony fiction? Am I retiring? Throwing in the towel? Hanging up my hat? Searching for another analogy to symbolize my giveupance?

Far from it.

Far, far from it. You see, my close friends Chengar Qordath, Ponibius, and JaketheGinger took a look at their libraries after the last chapter of Winning Pony went live, then looked at mine and pointed at me and reminded me what a sorry, lazy bastard I am.

To which I replied, aghast, of course I'm not! I've been doing editorial things between publishing chapters! And publication things as well! And editorial/publication things. And ... other things!

But I remembered how many stories I follow have outstanding chapters waiting to be written, and I remembered that, oh yeah, I have readers waiting for the same.

So they decided to crack the whip, the evil whip-cracking jerks, and put me to writing once more. For those of you who've read Winning Pony: Road Not Taken, I'm about halfway through a side story revolving around Sparkler. For those of you who suddenly have their hopes raised: yes, it covers how she became Cloud's sister.

Once that's done, I'll be moving back to Changes and What's In A Name, alternating between both as I keep up with the other Winningverse writing projects and publications.

Thanks as always for reading, and thank you even more for your patience.

Wait, you write!? Why was I not told?!

Happy birthday, man!

Ladies and Gentlemen, the prophecy has come true and the Great Journey has begun! Our Comma-Kazie is writing again!

1987905 I know, right? It's amazing. Who'd've thought?

Anyway, in all seriousness, congratulations on the level-up. Here's to another year, of writing and editing and of life in general. I do look forward to what you come up with.

Oh man, I guess this means I have found yet another person I share a birthday with! (though I'm just turning 23 today). Excited to see more Comma-Kazie fics coming soon, and happy birthday, man!

Happy birthday! As it happens, my own birthday's in about a week, though I may be turning a little older then you are...

Schön' Geburtstag viel Gluck

For my 25th, I satisfied my quarter life crisis by getting a tattoo.

Looking forward to seeing more of "What's in a Name" and "Changes," or at least as much as one can "look forward to" seeing more Dead Derpy. Such a dichotomy between two stories at different parts of the same timeline. Dinky's birth and Sparkler's eventual adoption (which doesn't happen until after "Name") contrasts with Derpy's passing and how Dinky, Sparkler, Cloud Kicker, and Rainbow Dash move on. Real life, and real issues, maybe punctuated here and there by a Sonic Rainboom or changeling invasion off in the background.

Happy Birthday, bud.

How dare you kill off Derpy.

it's your Birthday :pinkiegasp:

Happy Birthday :pinkiehappy: Don't party to hard.

Happy Birthday! :pinkiehappy:

We're still waiting for more stories, so your words are... wonderful. Just wonderful.

What do ya know? My 25th's later this month too. Happy Birthday dude.

Now wipe your cheek you unhygienic bastard!

Happy birthday, you industrious fellow, you.

Happy birthday! Good luck with getting back to writing!

The only thing I can say is Happy Birthday!

And many more.

Yeah, hurry the hay up! Let's go already! :ajsmug:

Oh good, I'm not too late. Happy birthday man. Glad to hear that there'll be more Changes coming eventually.

Happy Birthday ya mad emotivore!

Yes, I am at this point convinced that you feed off of all the feels your readers get every time a pony dies.
