They took the site down to add a few new headers and change the fucking notification image, and removed the fucking Philomena header that I've used for the last 6 months or so. Clearly the artist refused to suck Knighty off (For those of you who are unaware I have a belief that Knighty tends to cater to people he likes instead of doing things for the good of the site users. IE The Anthro tag that was asked for a dozen times by a few hundred members of the anthro group that only became a thing because an author Knighty likes specifically, publicly asked for it, and it existed 5 mins later.) It was also the only one I saw that was removed.
As far as stories go, Building a Dragon's Hoard before Christmas, hopefully around the 20th.
I'll put together the original ending Weekend Maid for Spike books when I post the chapter for those who wanted to order it.
The Alternative Ending one is going to wait until I write a little tie-in for bonus content on those. Which will also be posted on the site some time in January most likely.
Edit: IT HAS RETURNED! All is good again, well, not really, but let's pretend shall we?
Speaking of books, I'm totally publishing my latest fanfic in a book (it's a collab with another author). Contains some bitchin' human Sparity.

I've been using the Derpy one since the custom background option was taken away, it matches the dull greyness quite well.

Well, to be fair, there is one with a male zebra, one with Luna and a random male batpony, and one with Comet, Angel and Valkyrie. Also, most of them doesn't really seem romantic or suggestive. But i agree, there is tons of cool art with Shining Armor or Spike or Doctor Whooves, I don't see a reason why they shouldn't included.
1611788 I'm assuming Knighty thought that was Zecora with a smashed down mane because of the cloak, same eye color at least. Angel doesn't count he's a pet and a rabbit who's with Fluttershy everytime. As far as Comet, Valkyrie, and the bat pony go I'm assuming they're just in there because there's a female character with all of them.
Yeah, it's pretty hard to take this site's management seriously, from the panic over NSFW links and journals when ads went down to the reasoning behind the blanket ban on Five Score fics to taking the site down to change some header crap. Glad I'm not a heavy site user.

1611856 Fun fact about the NSFW panic, when they made people change all the cover art none of the ones breaking the new rules on Knighty's favorites list were touched. And there was about 8, I posted them on the site post about that to prove a point. There are only two or three mods I actually like on this site.

This site was a lot better about 2 years ago. There used to be a brown box at the top of the site that showed which listed the newest fics and there was another bigger box above that that had the top 5 (or was 10) most popular stories currently. The tracking and favorite fics were separate and you could post comments anonymously.

He also makes money off of the site. He gets payed to have the advertisements all over the site and makes more the larger the number of views. In fact, certain time slots cost more because they're considered rush hour for most sites. Fimfiction, according to the last statistic overview, actually has a very constantly high viewership. Unless you have direct access to Knighty's financial records you have no idea how much is going back into the site. Text takes up incredibly little data space which is how most websites are priced for keep-up a month. Of course there is most likely billions of words on this site, but every new page is new add-space that is sold to the highest bidder.
But if you don't like it, no one's forcing you to be here

1613518 Well, yes and no. Fimfiction's ads are actually some of the least annoying ads. They don't do sound ads or pop-up ads. Youtube is like the greatest example of ads gone wrong. Knighty is simply profiting off a site he created and is part of maintaining. Knighty does some good work, but he has been shown many times to show exceptional favoritism and poor judgement. I don't personally use it, but the Mobile site was fucked up for a bit recently. My point is that Knighty is not some sort of martyr because of the time he spends, he isn't some great charitable character doing this for nothing, he is simply human and a fairly smart businessman. After all making people pay to use a site thats feature is essentially free through other sites like fanfiction.com would be really stupid and fail miserably.
1613296 By the way, I took the time to tag and add the part on the end as I have been receiving a great many comments and PMs about the sequel and the physical copy and have no foreseeable intention of posting another blog between the point of submitting Building A Dragon's Hoard and now. I also always have story related things on my blog posts as well as something random and amusing for my followers, an anecdote as it were. Even my mandatory Birthday blog has a teaser for a future story.
