The four brave time travelers:
These character designs were supposed to go on the cover until I realized they didn't fit the format. By then I'd probably spent more time on them than the actual story. (I don't know if I've mentioned this, but I can get a bit of tunnel vision when I get very motivated about something.) Since it would have been a shame to let it go to waste, I figured it would make for a nice little omake to start things off. On a personal note, I'm particularly satisfied with how Spike turned out.

Ties into the backstory I have in mind for him. For now, let's just say that Spike is a bit of a liminal creature - he's a dragon, but there is a part of him that is a pony as well.
Plus, it made for a more symmetrical cover.

These are easily the best older versions of theses characters I've seen. Especially Spike.
I'm sorry, I know Sweetie Belle is clearly a gifted mage, given that she was even able to get everyone back in time, but I can't take her seriously with that expression.

Interesting. I like the design. As to Spike's cutie mark, I'm guessing that having been raised in pony society he may have gotten a tattoo so he would feel more like one of them. His more pony-like characteristics might be explained if, let's say, he were a cross between a dragon and a ryuume.

1497196 Based on how Spike and the CMC have acted and subtle hints in the story, I think I know. But, I'm not going to give it away, partly because some people would prefer to figure these things out for themselves, or have it revealed and surprise them, and partly just in case I'm wrong (though I'm fairly confident I'm not).

Postimage is what I use these days. It's basically what ImageShack was before ImageShack went all stupid.

Yeah, apparently something went wrong with Postimage - they lost a domain or something like that, even they didn't seem sure what happened - so their old URLs don't work anymore. Though, the images themselves are still there but with different addresses, so it's easy to fix. You should be able to see it now.
I had to replace a bunch of image URLs in a story a while back, but I sorta forgot about my blog which should now be full of broken pictures.
