    Never A Dull Moment

Thank you all for helping me out back in May  The support means the world to me, and thanks to your kind contributions I was able to go and visit my boy in Britain. I'll try and mock up a proper recap blog—though I am notoriously terrible at doing those, I don't think I've ever managed a proper recap blog for any of the various conventions I've gone to over the years. I guess there was

Renouncing My Bronyhood · 8:45pm Apr 8th, 2013

[From my DeviantArt]

Now don't get me wrong, I still love the show. Hell, even parts of the fandom are ok.

I'm just tired with the vast majority of bronies. I really don't want a lot to do with them anymore. Y'know, those fuckers all over Memebase with their "LOL WE WATCH A GIRLZ SHOW WE'RE SO SPESHUL" atitude, EQD with their faciest system, and the general plebbish-ness of the fandom at large.

There are plenty of good bronies, I will not deny that. Many of my watchers are example. I've just reached the point where I no longer wish to be associated with the spaghetti-spewing losers that make up most of the fan-dumb. I'm tired of the idiots who think of it like a religion and can't handle a few haters. Hell, some of them can't even handle people just not being into the show!

I used to be one of these people. I've slowly gravitated towards being a sane human being again.

Just putting that up there. I'm still good with the show, and I'm still writing fanfics, I'm just... not a brony.

Damn, it feels good to say that.

EDIT:
Huh, I lost a follower. Sweet.
If you're really going to unfollow me over this, good riddance. If you honestly cannot handle something as small as this...

I know that feel. I never considered myself a brony either.

I can still call myself a brony, but I can feel myself slowly growing out of it. Bronyism, sadly, is a phase, and once that phase is over, it's kinda depressing to be honest.

Yeah, fuck Bronies!

But Regidar! We have to love and tolerate everyone. Even those who are absolute cunts.

Actually a brony is a person who is part of the community of men and women who watch the show, and contribute to the community.

It's just like the logic of a trekky. You can watch the show and not be a trekky. But once you get involved with the community you're part of it for life.

Same thing with Brony....so I'm sorry but.

You're a brony :pinkiecrazy:

Meh, I only call myself a brony because text book definition I am one, but I personally prefer Cloper-american.

Basicly in summary just call yourself whatever you want because it is you who defines you not anyone else, so god speed and more power to you.:pinkiehappy:

I can't deal with all the pissy mouth-breathers who continue to call me an idiot because I said that Snowdrop sucked and then told me, "I'd like to see you do better."

Are bronies really becoming the new Beliebers? If yes, then I want out as well.

I consider myself a brony, I call myself one. But I don't consider myself a part of that community. I consider myself (as much as I hate to say it) a hipster brony.

I've considered myself to be a level 1 brony. You know, the unobsessive, sane kind. Then there's level 2: Eccentric, talks about it like it's the greatest thing in the world. Then..... Level 3: Thise who consider the fandom like a religion, considering anyone who doesn't watch the show to be evil and unholy.

I'm with you. Being a brony is like a disease. It has you in its power for like 6 months, give or take a few months, and then it slowly begins to weaken. I still love the show, but the obsession is over. You know how I knew I wasn't a brony anymore? I began to play games again and boy, I missed that.

991437 I can chose not to be identified as a brony. Sorry, pally.

I'm a walrus.
Damn, it feels good to get that out in the open.

I'm not really a brony either. I like the show, I write fanfics, I'm just not actively calling myself a brony.

991452
you can...

But you'll never be rid of it :rainbowdetermined2:

991453 Pics or it never happened.

Yet here you are making a big deal about no longer being a brony.

991459 Posting a blog =/= Making a big deal

I recommend watching this video fully through, it explains the different tiers of Bronies, If you like this, just saying you should subscribe to him, I highly recommend it. I was never really a Brony, just a fan of the show.

I'm there with ya. I just like watching the show and writing silly stories about it. I couldn't care less about the rest.

It's kinda weird how, of all the shit you mentioned, I feel like FimFiction has the most problems of the bunch.
Sure, Memebase is full of idiots but they're harmless idiots, and some good stuff comes up on there.
As for EQD, I basically go there for the artwork and occasional awesome song and that's about it.
To this day I still think this site is possessed by demons and run by Satan's shit stains (as if the mods actually do their job) in a metaphorical sense.
Also, sorry to tell you this but... you're still technically a brony.
Insert crack-at-furries joke here.

I'm here for the stories and funny pictures about pone. EqD and all that can burn in hell.

well makes sense what you said. Hell I'm a brony but to a certain degree. I will watch the cartoon and check out fic's, pic's and clop, but i wouldn't buy all the toys and treat it like a fucking religion.

it all depends on the person...I haven't even watch the entire season 2 or season 3 and it bugs me when people worship ponies as it is their life...Never into the idea of making gifs...never into the whole let us talk about it ponies all the time cause that is all we have in common...annoying as hell...I can understand where you are coming from (cause I am the same way when it come to bronies.) As long as you still be you then that is fine. I talk to other bronies and ponies isn't the entire topic of the conversation which is nice. Just wish more people see that and accept other opinions on the matter. (great I write long comments as well)
991442 you have no idea...I told people it wasn't as good as it could have been and got yelled at. Wish more people have an open view on subjects instead of a biased opinion.

991464 I would have to make a whole 'nother blog to detail the cancer in this site.
Oh wait! I did!
It's a bit outdated, but I made one back in November.

I'm just... not a brony.
Damn, it feels good to say that.

It's okay, man. Admitting it is half the battle. I still consider myself a brony because I like being one of the (apparently few) sane individuals who admits to being a brony. If the sane people stop representing the fandom, then the idiots are the only ones getting recognition.

Is someone really downvoting every comment on the blog?

Good man. There are good people here, but as with every group, there are mean, intolerant jerkoffs.

Don't stick with the group as a whole. Find some people in it who aren't jerkoffs and be friends with them. That's all you really need in life, anyhow.

991481 Apparently. I'm also losing followers over this. :rainbowlaugh:

991473 November?
Damn bro, you gotta update that shit!
This site got even worse since then.
Also... why is everyone getting downvotes in the comments?

I think my definition of Brony and your definition of Brony are two totally different things.

I enjoy the fandom. I enjoy the show. I'm a "Brony".

But, I'm not somebody that incessantly talks about the show, does nothing except Pony-related stuff, or what-have-you. I keep my feelings for the show or the community mostly personal. Outside of wearing the occasional pony-related t-shirt, I doubt many people know that I'm a Brony, other than those that have asked or that I know watch the show as well. It's no big deal for me to make people know that I'm a Brony.

I think that you're still a Brony, Regidar. For me, being a Brony simply means being a fan of My Little Pony and some rudimentary participation in the community. The level of fanatacism that some people reach is a little over-the-top, but I think what you're associating with the state of being a "Brony" is more of a very vocal minority. There's plenty of very normal and average people that also call themselves Bronies, just like there's many that call themselves Trekkies or Star Wars Fans that don't go to ultra-extremes like some do.

For you, I think that maybe toning back your Brony-ness or the way you present yourself is very intelligent and healthy. You don't have to identify yourself as a Brony, like it's an all-or-nothing state of being. You can present yourself however you'd like, but remember that being a Brony is part of you, too.

I guess a good question is this: Are you no longer going to be writing fanfiction related to the show?

991487 The ones you lose are the ones you shouldn't have been happy to have.

There are two types of bronies, in my mind, but again, this is just me: those who watch the show, enjoy it, and do a fair amount of commitment to fan work for the show just for the fun of it. Then there's that fucked up side that obsessed over it, and just saying the word brony (or even pony!) causes comment wars in, say, YouTube, mostly caused by bronies that don't know when to let well enough alone.

Screw that side. At least stick around with the saner one. We try our best not to have much existence with the other side. :pinkiecrazy:

I confess I've never really interacted with many bronies other than close friends outside of the net and I credit that with why I still call myself a brony.

991492 I just realized I have crossed that level of Brony-dom in which I do pretty much nothing that isn`t pony related. I love the show, the fan-art is (sometimes) awesome, and I pretty much only listen to the Living Tombstone, Mic the Microphone and Vinyl Scratch. I talk about it a bit, to my brony friends and just to annoy my non-brony friends, hell, I`ve even converted my Bff to the fandom, but I`m not one of those spitty mouthed cloppers with a clop shirt (this kid at my school has one. `Fluttershy is My Waifu`in large pink writing, then a pic of Fluttershy:fluttershbad: in a supposedly seductive pose ^He actually wears it to school) and calls everyone who doesn`t watch the show a `hater`. I don`t do that. I am pretty normal (I like to think:twilightsmile:)

One question, if you don't mind, are you also going to be leaving this site?

'Cause like you said, you know some pretty cool people. But is this goodbye?

P.S. prolly not going to be able to respond to this for a bit if you reply, sorry. :twilightsheepish:

991492 No, I'll still be writing.

991500 Do my eyes deceive me? No, it really is Astronaut Sloth.

991430

I know that the show is not for boys,
And I don't buy any of the toys.
I watch it, read fics, and RP to play,
But to hate and pessimate is the brony way.

I don't count myself in bronyhood,
Because what it's like ain't all that good.
I do, however, watch the show,
So just for that, I've given it a go.

I too shall continue to write,
I'll dick around, both day and night.
I write these poems in truth for farce,
But at least I don't act like an arse~!

He hangs in my Living Room, my bedroom, and inside the bathroom cabinet.

Theres a difference between Bronies and Fans. Bronies are the autistic mouthbreathers you described, but I think most of the people here are fans, but there is the occasional retard.:derpyderp1:

991554 You and 991492 have the most sense out of all the sensible people in this thread.

991552 I should do that with Cage's 'you don't say'. It would make my life a whole lot prettier.
