Why do I write? Because I can't draw! I write mainly as an outlet, and don't take it too seriously. If you like what I write, awesome! If not, that's cool too.

What's the absolute worst thing Hasbro Execs could do to MLP:FIM? The absolute worst? The most head explodingly rage inducing thing the internet has ever seen? It's not Alicorn Twilight. It's much, much worse. · 7:16am Feb 1st, 2013

PLEASE NOTE THIS IS PURE SPECULATION, AND IN NO WAY IS TO BE CONSTRUED AS FACTUAL!

Let the wailing and gnashing of teeth begin. I have been to the mountaintop, and what I witnessed, was tragic.

Ordinarily, I wouldn't think anything posted by some guy on reddit would have any credence, but... he was right about Derpy, right about Alicorn Twilight, and now, I would be willing to bet he's right about this. Well, what are your thoughts on this? I know I wasn't terribly excited about Alicorn Twi, but humans? In Equestria? Unacceptable. If this turns out to be the huge thing in season 4, then I dunno what I'm gonna do. Probably nothing, but I most likely will give less of a shit about canon than I do now. Not a lot, admittedly, but still. Please no humans, Hasbro.

hey look you return.

I hope they don't.

They would do it better than anyone else would, the show peeps, but

It would still be very unfortunate

shit. if this comes true, well, goodbye to the canon of about seventy percent of all human tagged stories!

I'm so excited for the rage.

If this is the case, I will be oficially done with the show. There is no recovery from that kind of low

781246 I would be willing to bet Hasbro doesn't care one way or the other what we (the outside demographic) think. They need to move plastic, and I'm sure little girls enjoy dolls of humans too, so fiscally, it makes sense. Unfortunately, Hasbro generally only cares about sales, so if they think it'll bring in more cash, it's gonna happen.

But what if all the humans are voiced by Morgan Freeman?

Meh, It was obvious that twilight could become an alicorn, humans in equestria though I seriously doubt will happen, "dolls" could mean a great many things

Cancelling Season 4 would be a bad bad thing.

Because humans are not coming.

Well, we're fucked.

Eh, if it happens, it happens, and considering how well the writers have done so far, this might actually turn out really cool. And even if it does happen, it doesn't change my fanfics in the slightest.

781264 not even his buttery ear chocolate voice could save it. Opening the door to humans on the show is just... it seems like such an obvious toy grab that I can't seem to look past it. Alicorn Twilight is one thing, but this? Bronius cannot abide.

781251 I've been trying to write more things, but I've been writers blocked a bit lately.

Well, if its true then such is life. Merchandising, they gotta find a way to milk this show for all its worth. God only knows when they'll have another hit show in the "young female" target audience again, at least one that is making them as much money as this one is.

I wouldn't freak out too much. I remember that post from a few months back on Reddit. There was no confirmation that it was from a Hasbro employee and all of the things he revealed had already been speculated by EqD. In my opinion he was just a troll who was just trying to cause trouble by "confirming" all the current rumors. As for Equestria Girls, we don't really know what they plan to do with the trademark. Hopefully, they're just going to release humanized version of the ponies to get in on the doll market. But all we can do right now is speculate.

781246 Well, if they do do it, I've called first dibs on writing the first "Twilight x human female" clopfic. :moustache:

781278 speculating is my favorite thing!

781274 Oh I just meant in general, Razed mentioned he hadn't heard from you.

(Sorry about that by the way! Not fun at all.)

I'll withold judgement for now. I'll wait.

Though when the time comes, yeah, I'll have something to think about it and say. Lots

If there are humans in S4, we need a Lyra and Bon Bon episode.

781284 Haha, Razed hasn't heard from me because I'm not constantly pestering him about editing something for me. I wish this site had like a facebook chat window or something. The chatrooms are dead here.

781287 at least they could make human obsessed Lyra a real thing.

781296 My sentiments exactly.

I'd say "Hold your horses. (heh)" However right or wrong this guy might be, it does no good for anyone to jump to conclusions until we get some more concrete info (and no, a few lucky guesses do not count as concrete info). And even if it is right, it's all in the execution. Yeah, the show's writers have screwed up royally on occasion, but they've also done some really excellent work, even when people were expecting things to go horribly wrong. Remember when they first introduced Princess Cadance and the whole Royal Wedding spiel? A good chunk of the fandom was wailing that the existence of a third alicorn princess had utterly ruined MLP:FiM FOREVER!!! But then the actual episode came along and, it turned out pretty good, all things considered. This is the problem with fandoms for series like this. The slightest hint of anything new that might...just might...maybe shake up the status-quo (The horror!) the teeniest tiny bit is suddenly a trigger for everyone to abandon ship because, OMG they're changing something that we totally took for granted so obviously the show is ruined and beyond any hope of salvation. Take a chill pill people. :ajsleepy:

My only words for Hasbro right now:

781293 he has skype! You should totes get one, appear offline all the time, and ambush him

I do that to people

it is fun

I have much rage building over the idea but I must take my stance at wait and see. It seems to be nothing but a rumor for now and if it is not I can only wait and see how it affects the show. I can;t imagine it being a good thing and it will mostly likely cause some sort of rage induced coma for me but it might turn out okay, who the buck am I kidding I do not like the idea AT ALL. It just doesn't fit, there's no room for humans in equestria.

I don't see it happening. We have no idea on if Alicorn Twilight is even permanent let alone Humans returning after being gone for what, 2.5 seasons? They've got other cartoons with actual humans in it for girls, so I doubt they'd do it again.

Then again I am also looking for the fandom to burn to the ground when the Finale finally airs, so yeah.

Dear lord, I would seriously flip shit. I wouldn't be surprised if I've started to develop an aneurysm from these past few days :twilightangry2:

Judgement withheld. I don't want to end up looking like a fool like so many others are bound to if nothing happens. I will believe nothing until I see it on the TV screen.

I really pray that they will just be making humanized versions of the characters and NOT adding humans to the show, because really you would think at SOME point that a reference to humans being on that planet would of been made by now. I mean a race of tech loving, meat and veggie eating, and slightly chaotic bipeds would be on the radar, and yes I say we humans are Chaotic as we sure as hell not Harmonious with one another in general...

At first i was like "FUUCK", but then I realized its not humanized ponies... yet. Anyhow, won't be the first time that a human is in a pony world, hell, the franchise started out with a human into a fantasy world (such as a Italian plumber in a Kingdom with mushroom-headed people, etc.). However this begs the question of what potential human characters that would end in the show, like Megan from G1 who may have the same name or retcon as how the Mane6 orginal designs WERE the G1 Mane6. And more so, if it were to have Megan, can we expect villains from the same generation as well?

Either case, Hasbro is clearly having big plans (with big plans) that will magnify the success of the show.. or shatters it completely. I sincerely hope things turns out fine in the end...

Have happy dreams:pinkiecrazy:

...is there a double facehoof emoticon?

As someone who grew up with the original version of the show that did include human interaction, this is the one thing Hasbro could do that would make me give up on the show and ignore its existence. Even as a five-year old, I hated Megan, Molly, and Danny. Their presence in a magical world seemed pandering and stupid to me, and I was FIVE. I didn't even know how to spell pandering, but I knew it was stupid. I can understand that having humans that interact with the ponies would be great for accessories ("Mommy, can you buy me an Alicorn Locket of Sunshiny Fuckernutting so I can be just like Mary Sue when she goes on adventures with Princess Twilight? Please?") and toy sales but it would also give the people that already view the characters as human chicks/fap material even more to work with, and it would screw up the dynamic they've bloody established in regards to how the world works over three seasons.

I hope you're wrong, Maximus. I hope that guy's wrong. I don't want to have to set my gala dress for Dragoncon ablaze. :raritycry:

S73

Again, I don't think I'm going to care much...

781302 I think putting humans in the show is a bit different than adding an Alicorn or giving wings to Twilight. Mainly because, before the 3rd alicorn, any non-celestia or luna alicorns were the turf of bad OC's. If all you have to go on for Alicorns is the show representation (which is not much) and the blanks filled in by fans (the fanfics), I can see why most would be hesitant about letting professional writers take a stab at introducing a 3rd alicorn. Humans are much in that same boat. Even though there is the rare HIE story that is actually worth reading (I dunno what they are, but I'm sure they're out there), most of them can be summed up with: 'Anon dies/finds a portal/is brought by Twilight's wayward spell/ to Equestria, where he /falls in love with (despite being an alien creature) one or all of them/defends them from some great evil only he can defeat and or followed him to the pony realms/is crowned king of all pony sex forever. Obviously the writers wouldn't use most of these clichés, but I can see why many are hesitant.

I know not all HIE's are like that, but humans are not the reason this show has gotten such a following. Ponies are. We deal with humans every day, and we deal with the fucked-up-ness of the world we live in everyday. To imply that not even a near perfect world of talking magic ponies is immune to humans just stumbling across it one day just... it cheapens the show, in my opinion. How many shows about humans are there out now for little kids? TONS. Granted, there are some shows with non-human casts for kids as well, but I feel my little PONY should center around PONIES, not ponies and there human... sidekicks? Friends? Either or, really.

In conclusion, humans are great. Just not in my ponies.

*reads through comments*

So, guys... are we committing mass suicide yet?

I've got the Kool Aid?

Who brought the arsenic?

781328 I'd be inclined to agree with you, if Twilight's brother wasn't just dropped in our lap one episode so he could marry another pony not worth mentioning until that episode.

Well... i certainly didn't mind alicorn Twi since there is so much possible hilarity with that, but this...:facehoof:
One of the coolest things about this show is the fact it's so detached from reality. Ponies using stuff designed for humans, sleeping in human beds, living in human houses and yet doing it the pony way.
Now we'll get a bunch of annoying humans to muck it up. I guess my shit was finally flipped. :facehoof::facehoof::facehoof:

One thing that I've noticed is that if Twilight becoming an Alicorn was a spoiler as big as some people are making out and as they led on, then why would Hasbro reveal something this big unless there is something bigger on the horizon...oh god...

781353 I sincerely hope the guy on reddit is wrong, but he's been right every time so far. I'd also like to say I couldn't see the writers doing something so pander-y. But, the writers aren't in charge. The suits are. I also thought Hasbro wouldn't introduce a random 3rd alicorn and a brother for Twilight, both of whom were not worth mentioning up until that point. I thought they'd never remove a character we all took to be our representation in the show away because one foot-faced social justice tumblr shit head decided he (she? it?) spoke for an entire demographic of children, deemed her offensive to kids with disabilities.

I never thought they'd make king sombra look like they made him in the pony OC creator.

I remember when I used to believe the writers had some voice in the production of their show, but it seems I'm mistaken.

781349 It's still a lot of fuss over what amounts to a hill of beans. And I still say that it's within the potential of the writers to pull it off. And hey, since this fandom loves their G1 shoutouts, think about the opportunities this presents. We could see all kinds of potential plots for G1 style villains like the witches or Tirek and Scorpan. Perhaps this is a prelude to the story shifting over to more adventure-themed plots rather than mostly slice-of-life stuff. The point of my argument is that you shouldn't shriek and wail about how "such and such change is going to utterly ruin the show" because you have no freaking clue whether or not that is going to be true. Sure, there are a thousand-and-one ways adding humans to the MLP:FiM mix could go horribly, terribly wrong. But there are also ways (albeit few in number from most perspectives) that it could be pulled off brilliantly. The point is that automatically assuming the worst about it is ultimately a pointless exercise.

781378 I'm not saying this is for sure happening, but every time I've said to myself 'there's no way they'd let that happen' I've been wrong. I guess the thing is, this is something I could actually see them doing, which is what sucks.

Wow, I seriously hope this isn't true. At all. I'm really not one for drama - most things I can just roll with in a show's development - but humans? I can legitimately say that there is no way I would ever watch it. Whatever season is the last to exist without humans (likely season 3, if this rando is to be believed) will be the one I treat as the last canon season of MLP:FIM. It'll be sad if its true, because I personally see it as ruining a great thing, but there isn't much fans could do short of withdrawing their support. If human versions of the Mane six were to make an appearance due to some flukey spell for an episode or something, I might be able to handle it (despite it not working with the established canon at all) but other than that... Eh, if it happens, its been a good run, I suppose. If not, hopefully too many knickers don't get twisted as a result.

781377
I agree. Hasbro has the reigns.

Honestly. I just don't give a fuck anymore. I'm just tired—of drama, of speculation, of all this shit.

Well if their are humans.... will it be somewhat G1 ish and stay as it being a single girl that has some name that starts with the letter M, or will it be a dude.... a dude in equestria... just imagine that.

I was actually interested in the Alicorn Twilight thing at first. Then the fandom hit a sonic rainbow of outrage and I had to enter my mode of complete and utter indifference (what will be is what we know will have been done).

But this? This I just can't take. The show will most likely still be "good", but I will have lost all interest in canon. I might check it out every now and again to see how things are going, but I'll draw the line before S4.

Of course, we don't know if this is true at all. I'm a cynic that hates everything except psychological infiltration/torture deep down on the inside, so I tend to expect the worst anything has to offer me though.

All we can do for now, is hope.

I have yet to see season three and I haven't really paid attention to canon and have been very happy with staying ignorant of on-goings in season 3 and 4. Though I may watch season 3 at some point I do fear what season 4 may hold and so i'll probably avoid it.

So, here's the deal. There weren't any humans in MLP for 3 generations afaik, unless G2 had humans in toys. The thing is, they would make a comeback after G1.5, G3 and G3.5, as well as the generation of baby ponies? after about 4 to 5 MLP incarnations, the humans would make a comeback now? First of all, I don't buy that, even if the guy was accredited for being right about Alicorn Twilight and Derpy.
Secondly, even if say this will happen, I don't get the big deal. It is as if people within the fandom want to flip some shit over something that is potentially no problem. Did Lauren Faust leaving the team production destroy the show? no. Did Derpygate destroy the show? no. Did the season 2 finale destroy the show? of course not, it actually did quite the opposite...

But lastly, what is the bigger surprise here? that humans can also exist in a world that is greatly alike ours, in terms of both real living creatures (tortoises, dogs, ponies, sheep, cows, ponies, haven't seen horses yet, but they could still exist) and mythical creatures (cockatrice is a little different, but otherwise true to the myth, griffons, hydras, manticores, even the Ursa major and minor are part of mythology; even the windigos were supposed to be the mythical wendigo)?
There's also one more thing:
Minotaur = "In Greek mythology, the Minotaur was a therianthropic (humanoid) monster with the head of a bull and the body of a man"
I guess it would take a genius to make the connection, wouldn't it? :trixieshiftright:

Whatever happens, so long as the production team is the same, there's nothing to worry about. The show was going to be terrible right off the bat from what people thought this new generation of MLP was going to be like and that proved wrong, among many, many other assumptions made later by the fandom. I guess some people just never learn to stop making assumptions. :facehoof:
