Hey! Thanks so much for the kind words!
I'm glad that someone liked it enough to say so, it means a lot.

thank you for this touching story. it seemed that rainbow and twilight aren't very good friends after all. sad. to abandon dinky and derpy to a questionable fate seemed unspeakable. did derpy and dinky die in that storm? I got the feeling that they did, but are now reunited in a better place. am I wrong? what is princess celestias role in this? the ending seems to be up for grabs. please give more insight to a possibly tragic ending.

Hi there! Apologies for the horrifically late reply, I've been away from the fandom for several years now but I'm trying ease myself back in.

Regarding the ending, it is very much "up for grabs" as you say. I purposefully wrote it so that the fate of Derpy and Dinky would be vague, the hope being that the reader would be forced to forge their own conclusion. (You'll also notice that when Celestia appears she does not say a single word. I hoped this would further obscure the ending.) So, in a sense I can't really offer any insight as to how the story ended as I'm not quite sure myself. I obviously have my own thoughts as to how it ended but I don't think they're all that important. Once I publish a story it's out of my hands, so to speak. The burden of interpretation falls solely on you, the reader. If you feel that the two passed away in the storm and were reunited in a better place then that is the right answer for you, it certainly isn't wrong! :raritywink:

Thanks for the comment! I put quite a bit of work into this story back when I wrote it and I'm pleased that at least a few people gave it a read. :pinkiehappy:

Beautiful, heartwarming story. Love the open ending, those always get you in the gut.

All right, I ma surely not an expert or a critic but I want to write something :twilightsheepish:

This story is well-written and tearing, I put it under my 'tearing' bookshelf, but there is one weak part: the library. :applejackunsure:

What's wrong with it: it's unrealistic. Not because it has to enf with RD and Twi saving the day but you should point out more how powerless they are. For example I think Dinky could wait that Twi walks in the other room and THEN she escapes. This way people want complain about them just letting a kid run away.

I know, that is not really relevant for the story. But details are important, and this one jars.:twilightoops:

Still, is just a detail so don't worry, even if you don't fix it this story is full of feelings.:raritycry:

I would like to say something about the ending (nothing bad) but that is a far more general opinion.

So good work.

Awww, man. Now I'm sad. That was adorable and heart wrenching.

All the thumbs up for you sir.

7435338 Thank you very much, I'm glad you liked it! I didn't write this story to get views so the low view count over the years hasn't bothered me all that much. A couple people commented and that was great; it was enough just knowing that someone else had given the story a shot and liked it. But your blog post (which was very flattering :raritywink: ) brought so many other people to the story and for that I thank you from the bottom of my heart!

It's quite amusing that a random click brought you to my little nook of this website, but I'm so happy it did. To quote Haruki Murakami: "Chance is a scary thing, isn't it?"

7435483 Thanks for the input! I'll have to go back and re-read the story to see what you mean as I wrote it over three years ago (how time flies!). I'm happy you liked it all the same. Thanks for reading!

7435552 Thanks! I'm happy you enjoyed the story! Reading comments like this really makes my day haha :pinkiehappy:
