At the time before Celestia ruled Equestria, a mage of great and evil power ruled over the land with an iron fist. He ruled all life even death but after one epic battle with the legends of maple he was sealed.

Two thousand years has passed and land was peaceful again but the inhabitants were separated. The humans exasperated themselves long ago after the mage was defeated to fight against the mage if he breaks free. The ponies were left to rule the land of prosperity and order.

It was time for the mage to break free from his seal and again wreak havoc across the land but first he tries to get the land he was trying to get before that fight. Equestria.
