Rarity, the fashionista pony of Ponyville, works tirelessly at Carousal Boutique, creating new works of art for the rest of Equestria to marvel at. At least, this is her vision. In reality, Rarity lives in a world where she makes stunning works of art at her own pace, and only on occasion receives a decently paying commission from somepony. This isn't the kind of life that is stable or rewarding in Rarity's case. Her desire is to become popular, famous even, is powered by the support of her friends and the insight of her prim lifestyle.

However, this all changes when a trio of upper-crust tailors from Canterlot visit Ponyville in order to make a business affiliation with Rarity. Their leader, Pret a Porter, a peculiar pegasus with hypnotic eyes, sways Rarity with the hopes of making her friends famous as well, and proposes the Elements of Harmony to be abridged and used in a fashion lineup.

Rarity gladly takes the collaborative project, not realizing what she has begun. Will her desire for fame, both her own and her friends', blind her from the crushing reality she lives by? Will she finally see the truth behind her true skill, and her connection to the Element that she possesses?

Well, that was certainly interesting. Rather OoC for Rarity all things considered, though I suppose the hypnotism had a bit to do with that.

The hypnotism and the visions were supposed to make Rarity OoC; it was, if anything, supposed to symbolize how the Elements of Harmony could make a pony different than who they are. Porter's persuasion was what made it turn bad; he twisted the definition of "generosity" is Rarity's mind at the right moments for there to be significant change.
