Scootaloo remembered everything. The terror of dropping like a stone towards the ground, the joy of seeing her mother coming to save her, the pain of the impact. She remembered how the doctor had told her that she might be able to fly someday, but it was unlikely. She remember how much Rainbow Dash had begged for forgiveness. She remembered how everytime she thought of her mother the memory came with a crushing sense of guilt. It had been her fault, she'd always thought. Her mother had died to save her. She remembered everything.
Scootaloo wept bitterly at the memories. She felt a hoof on her shoulder and through eyes soaked with tears saw her idol smiling knowingly at her. Before she could ask why she was smiling, she noticed the two of them were still in the air. She looked about in wonder and saw that she was treading the air, just above the ground. SHE WAS FLYING! For just a moment her face lit up with joy before falling again at the memory. She resumed her wing and Rainbow Dash pulled her into a hug. The two hung there in air, their tears calling onto the dry dirty road beneath them.
"I know."
"I miss her too."
I liked this. Kudos!

Thank you.
Stories like this is the reason there's an "Alternate universe" tag. What's your reason for not using it?

Because that would require me to pull my head out of my arse. Thank you
This is soo close to being a good story, some more exposition especially in chapters 2 and 3, more letting the readers know the immediate aftermath from the accident and you'd have something, but as for now its not developed enough to be a coherent narrative

The original concept was for a comic so it doesn't necessarily translate well to narrative story. Thank you for the comment and constructive criticism though!
