Eh a new chapter! Glad to see this chapter that tells us that this story is not dead. Ya never really find a story where the MC becomes a villain willing so props to ya for doing something unique anyways I hope to see another chapter of this more sooner then it took to post this one however I know they take time to make good and line them up with the story, plot, and allow them to flow flawlessly so I hope to see more soon but not too soon that it’s rushed. Keep up the awesome work!
“I find such things distasteful. Make no mistake, I’m a villain, I’m bound to do things others will condemn me for, but I have some fucking standards.”
I couldn't have said it better myself. But I must say, that while power armor would be the best for his situation, it's a bit out of his reach at the moment.
Maybe look into plate armor first, then upgrade it to enchanted when he has the ability to use magic to do so. A common misconception is that plate armor is heavy and cumbersome. It's not. Knights needed to be able to fight in their suits for long periods of time so it needed to be strong enough to take or deflect blows and light enough not to tire them out.
While a full suit of armor weighs around 45- 55 pounds (20-25 kilograms), the weight is spread out over the whole body, making it much more easy to move around in. Knights were actually capable of decent acrobatics when needed. The reason they weren't widely used by armies was more due to the cost of making full plate suits rather than their feasibility. The armor needed to be fitted to each individual person, similar to how shirts and pants have different size categories. You can be damn sure if the cost was negligible, full armies might have been decked out in full plate.
This is great thanks for the update, I can’t wait for the next one. Though I do know the feeling of just wanting to read and not write, or just life. So no pressure you write if or when you want and keep it real. 👍
10215432 On the upside, you get the chance to establish yourself among your men on the field. Having a ruler who can fight well has to be a hell of a morale boost since his soldiers are fighting alongside him and not just for him. Plus you'll have men that have your back like they do for each other, probably including at least one who will walk alongside you rather than be content with a flank position in the formation.
“My crew fled before the battle started, as I ordered them. Darius refused to let me leave. Piece of shit had no respect for female captains.”
I can see him now having a pirate fleet with female captains at his disposal Female captains can see that as a good opportunity for better conditions then they had before
”Power Armour. No matter what it takes, I will make myself a suit of Power Armour.”
Maybe first start with an armored gas mask so enemies won't see your eyes and face It would be more effective in negotiations like that when the enemy doesn't see your expression It would also help when there would be smoke from a fire or other gases
When you make the power armor you should steadily increase its power like having one from fallout then go into 40k Also when are we going to meet tempest
10215595 Nononono, make the starship tropers(the book series, the book series for the Storm kings sake) power armor thoes are HARD sci-fi and can exict under known science then ad magick upgrades
Well, scratch another idiot from the face of the planet, nobody will miss them once everything is said and done. Nice work as always, and you can see him, while still a little reluctant, he must do some very dark deeds in order to get his point across that he’s not one to be fucked with.
As for power armour, he knows it’s out of reach, but in time he will obtain it. An eventuality, but not an impossibility. It would be interesting what sort of power armour he would want to create.
Villain? * low the history book * you are simply a king doing what you do best. Is the character a bad king? no, actually he's on his way to make a very good king. An inventor and warrior statesman like no other. Although I would recommend some financial freedom. And sponsor a university. I think you need some cement (lime, sand (or earth) and volcanic ash, although anyone can do it) You urgently need gunpowder to take advantage of technologies (such as the cannon, musket, dynamite, grenades, etc.) The magic and technology not mix well? Gnomes, dwarves, draenei, elves, naaru, titans. (warcraft) start dancing. Warhammer fantasy dwarves also join the dance Humans from the steampunk worlds also unite. You have an air force and they marinate (until the sea ships can shoot the flying ships the problem of the air pirates is over) The first battleships were plywood ships with metal plates. Power armor? no no no… Warhammer fantasy dwarves can give you the answer (even for your inability to use magic) it's time for RUNES. Entertaining story.
10216004 Honestly, even Fallout power armor may be a bit too much for a first attempt. I'm thinking Tony Stark's first attempt to build a suit while in that cave (minus the limited flight) would probably be the most realistic starting point. With the exception of the power source (and I'm sure we can find a magical alternative here), it's all tech that could have been built decades ago. Fallout armor would be next.
“So… you are the mighty storm king. Frankly I expected you to be taller. I am captain Darius, these are captains Celaeno and Parveen. We speak for the pirate clans.
I totally love this story dude! 👍 He is a villain, so i shouldn't be rooting for him....but compared to most others hes a good king. Heck, I'd say most other rulers have to do bad things too, least he does it for the betterment of his people.
Come on little Storm King, having a secondary weapon was always the key, how could you get hit with a sucker bolt that easily ? you're the one with advanced knowledge technology, you know how miniature crossbow work, even in Discworld they have one. Nice chapter you wrote here, I like this character, not some overwordly white knight, not some edgy evil to be evil OC, but a calm, pragmatic newfound ruler who has to make sure everything doesn't crumble. Good work writer, good work.
this is good
And that's the downside of leading from the front, you make for a really excellent target.
As a guy who was just recently reading a very shitty fanfic (which I shall not name because that would just be mean), I have to say this is better.
Is the power armor going to be from Fallout? oh and also great story too.

its back
I'm guessing you mean "it wasn't that hard to find", or "It was hard to miss".
"Wasn't that hard to miss" implies it blended in well with the others.
Goody, this fic is alive again, excellent, now lets red :D.
Loved it keep up the gr8 work
Another great chapter.^^

Also, just a bit of advice when the flaming turkeys eventually show up.

That one line about KFC made me hungry for some unlimited gravy soup/rice. Hope he builds one after all of this Overlord business.

I just knew someone will ask that question with a profile picture that has something to do with Fallout XD
10215588
It was kind of weird reading it when looking at your profile picture which is a bird.....
Yeeeeesssss! It hath returned!
When you make the power armor you should steadily increase its power like having one from fallout then go into 40k

10216004
that would be spoilers
10215955
I don’t see the problem :P
Needs some editing, dialogue is a little awkward. Other than that, it's fairly good.

A fine read if I say just a bit of work on the grammar
But a fine read nonetheless
I'm glad another chapter came out
I expected a pun about drumsticks xD
Go forth and do what must be done >:]
Power armor? X-01 enclave all the way baby, love the aesthetic of those guys.
Ehhh its not dead!
Also hell yeah, power armor would make him a little more intimidating as well.
This was the best chapter yet. Im actually blown away. Great job
Looks like you took us all by STORM, ey
I can already see some cannons in the near future.
Things will go BOOM!!!

Excellent Chapter!
THE MADLAD HAS RETURNED! (Best chapter yet bro, please keep this up! I really like your fanfic and hope to see more.
Don’t forget Thanos! He doesn’t cower either!
Dread it, run from it. Destiny arrives all the same. And now it's here, or should I say, I am.
Really feels like our Storm King would say something like this.
I fucking love this
Yeah... Good idea.
I totally love this story dude! 👍

Good, very good. You sparked my interests yet again, only this time you added a massive battle. And for that, you honor me with your story.👍
This new Storm King has more balls then most story OC's put together. I love it!
