What's up, people. Had an idea, so I wrote it out. ...Terrible at writing bio's.

After a thousand years, Nightmare Moon is safely sealed away once again, and the sun brings forth a new day, just like any other.

Life goes on as usual for the little ponies of Equestria, and all is well with the world.

And yet, something is wrong. Something has been wrong for quite some time.

But what...?

i think it would've been more interesting if it put a little more emphasis on how Celestia reacted to re-sealing her sister, the ending seems kind of abrupt.

I really like the idea of the failed rainboom, and the Mane 6 never meeting. It has been done before, but honestly, what hasn't been? I would really like to see an extended version of this, however. It just seems too brief to properly express what a bummer it would have been if Twilight and Co. had never found their callings.

I agree with this review, it is too short. Yes the concept has been done before, plenty of times but you've added a unique touch with that not meaning the end of the world!

I'd love to see what becomes of each of the mane six in this universe, not to mention Spike's egg, Sweet Apple Acres, Carousel Boutique...

There is so much potential here!

The underlying alternate universe idea has been done before, but isn't ad nauseum yet. I think there's a lot of potential here about how the Mane 6's lives would turn out if they hadn't found their true callings. It'd be interesting to see how six adult blank-flanks go through their lives mal-adjusted in society and without their true talents.

My only concern is with Nightmare Moon's defeat. Supposedly all six Elements of Harmony are needed to defeat Nightmare Moon, yet it's expressed that Celestia only has five. Without the sixth Element, the others shouldn't have worked either, and thus their power would have fizzled out a la Twilight's first attempt at defeating Nightmare Moon and/or Discord. It would have been interesting to see Celestia's grief at having to rebanish her sister, or perhaps see Equestria fall under Nightmare Moon's reign as Celestia tries to hold back her sister's looming hold over the land.
Oh, and it was short, but I won't mind so long as it builds upon something bigger.

1069301 You raise a good point with Celestia's use of the Elements. My headcanon is that Celestia is the Element of Magic, and the spark was the ownership passing to Twilight as she realizes her calling. Celestia, being only one pony, is not able to use the Elements at full power.
As far as continuation or additional details... It's hard enough to write for the characters as defined by the show, let alone an alternate reality, and make it believable. I'm afraid I just don't feel up to it right now...:fluttercry:

The whole "failing the Sonic Rainboom" theme has been done to death. A story has to be extra special to stand out with that theme. I hate to be too blunt, but this is not extra special. What is here isn't anything anyone failed to expect. I'm not even sure that the kind of spectacularness can be achieved at all with a one-shot.
