Great work
I can only think of Super Robot Wars when I hear Akashic Records.... damn Cybuster. Good chapter BTW.

Thanks.
And that's not surprising. The Akashic Records are something that gets referenced a lot in media of all types. Just about anything that dives into dreams, astral projection, lucid dreaming, the collective unconscious, or just about ANYTHING that's trying to be edgy and awesome will reference them.

Cybuster does the awesome and with zero edge shockingly enough.... though a Nightmare on Elm Street movie dealing with the Records would be kick ass.
Ah looks like Twilight was gonna be a persona user, or something like but things changed. Interested in where this conflict goes and we're already getting set-up for the next dungeon.
im guessing twi was gonna be the experimental man made persona user for the phase if the real one wasn't found. But now shes not needed due to a trickster appearing. Reminds me of junpei from persona 3 .... wants to be the big hero and jealous of the main character. Like junpei shes probably gonna do something dumb and get people hurt or put herself in danger and starlight will have to save her from it. Also im guessing they've kept the fact the the persona 3 trickster died secret you'd figure with the way they make it sound like their still active along with inaba and the phantom thieves being mentioned also.

It's also shown in Shin Megami Tensai Devil Survivor 2 at the end game. In that game it actually is a record of the factual universe and if altered, the alterations become reality.
Progress.
I don't blame you one bit.
Hope is one of the most powerful things there is.
The fact that she's accepting this means you've made HUGE progress. You've given her what Blueblood tried repeatedly to rob her of. Hope.
GOOD.
You are not wrong. What IS Blueblood's deal? Beyond being an abusive prick.
Honestly I want to imagine he chose to do this and he's actually a lot smarter than his appearance would suggest.
See?
Good. Fuck him. Except actually don't.
Oh what are you gonna do, pretty boy?
Hrrrr, *exhale* still better than nothing, you don't undo this kind of damage in a night.
Beware The Nice Ones.
Rainbow Pie. Now that's a ship I haven't seen in QUITE a while.
She's very adept at hiding the way she truly feels.
There it is.
Still, Blueblood's probably taking what time alone he has with her to reassert his control over her.
I'm not sure what it says about me or what I think of Blueblood that my mind's immediately gone to Blueblood forcing himself on her.
I think he did, that or do something else to try and reassert his control.
That is the taste of a liar, Beatrix Lulamoon!
Man, he did a NUMBER on you.
And it wasn't pretty.
Blueblood's definitely playing more mind games on her than we're seeing.
He'll try and fail. And if he DOES hurt her, that'll be just the proof Celestia needs to expel him. And I suspect Cinch would do it too because of how rigid she is, she'd love to expel someone as abusive and toxic as him because of how much chaos he could cause in her perfect little order.
Yes Beatrix. Together. Because Starlight is a better person than Blueblood will ever be.
YES! FUCK YES! YES!
Yep. She's gonna be the William Zeppeli to her Jonathan Joestar. Minus the whole getting ripped in half part.
You, have very poor social skills, don't you.
She absolutely does.
It's cute that you think that.
All of the above?
Would not put it past her.
What about The Twilight Zone?
I'm curious as to how this is.
In my defense, I don't use emojis, I kinda make it a point NOT to, (the pony emojis on this site don't count) and I don't exactly know anyone well enough that if I was close enough I'd go over and hug them. I am surprisingly good at improvised motivational speeches when I'm impassioned though.
Which could be argued to be a GOOD thing since there's people who really don't like physically talking to people. Or are very bad at it.
Ah. Yikes. It's weird. I hear all these stories about depression and know many people who do suffer from it, but even when I've been at my lowest, I'd never say I've been depressed. From what I understand, I'm lucky in that regard.
Right, they're Weak But Skilled. For a relative definition of weak.
Precisely. You pick up on this quickly.
Apparently.
So, Starlight.
Hate to tell you, but you don't have much say in the matter.
You and me both.
I'm, not quite sure I like the implications of that. At all. In fact I'm SURE I strongly dislike those implications.
That's a word for it, yeah.
We're gonna find out soon enough, that I know. Maybe it's because SHE used to be one of Beatrix's friends and it pisses her off to see what Blueblood's done to her?
... Well that's a hell of a downside. What is this, The Matrix? (Actually saw that movie, and it was fun.)
Because of course.
So, you gotta carry something to well, carry things if you want to bring items from the Dungeon back to the Records.
I'm thoroughly inclined to agree. Don't get me wrong, abuse is HORRIBLE and everything about Blueblood makes me want to hit him until he stops moving, but abuse alone doesn't DO this to a person. There's something else at play here.
So now you have a sub objective
Game time started. (reference to the Chinese bootleg of Revenge of the Sith called Backstroke of the West. It's dumb, it's garbage and it's hilarious.)
Most likely.
And that someone's probably you.
Called it.
Your Charisma is abysmal. Then again, you're a Wizard, not a Sorcerer. (The joke is Wizards cast using Intelligence, Sorcerers use Charisma. LAUGH DAMMIT!)
Ninja Kill. I recommend slicing its head off, or stabbing it in the gut with the pointy end of your scythe.
If Unicorns can only ridden by Virgins, the opposite applies to Bicorns. I know stuff.
Hm?
Ah. So that's how experience and levelling up works in this. Actual experience and depending on the enemies you absorb, you can learn their stuff. Interesting.
Her dad?
Agreed, this is a trap.
Hey, Jonathan Joestar had a bad case of Chronic Hero Syndrome and he survived grabbing a knife, then getting his arm cut to the bone. He kicked both the people who did this so hard they went flying. And this was BEFORE he got supernatural powers.
Clever.
Clever girl, capitalizing on the fact that the dream world doesn't have the same laws of physics as our world does and her actual body's limitations aren't the same as her dream body's limitations.
Alright, smartass, YOU try it. You wanna come in here and do Starlight's job for her? Oh wait, you CAN'T. I'm sorry, that was uncalled for.
Because of the color your words are colored I, I can only hear Sunset Shimmer. And honestly that's not a problem.
Yeah, no kidding.
Ave Caesar, Morituri Te Salutent. (Gladiator thing, it's Latin for "Hail Caesar, those who are about to die salute you.)
Starlight Glimmer doesn't break a promise that easily!
Of course you did.
I don't blame you for a bit.
I'd ask how that works seeing as her whole bit is Ice but, I don't know how Persona's damage type system works.
Oh, so Dia's "AI" is smarter than Kingdom Hearts 1 or 2 Donald. I'd say 3, but, Donald's AI is actually pretty smart in KH3, he's healed me several times, he uses spells that have type advantage, and he's generally NOT The Load.
Trixie's flame of hope and will is beginning to burn again, GO STARLIGHT! BEAT THEIR SORRY ASSES!
Cercle De L'Ange? (Metal Gear Rising move, you can eventually get a polearm and that's one of the moves you can do with it. It hits REALLY hard.)
NICE WORK!
Makes sense, Personas are about your soul, your will, having another person cheer you on and KNOWING it's genuine, it can help a lot.
You're goddamn right.
Understandable, even when you have many options, one is bound to be your favorite. It's also the manifestation of YOUR soul, so, yeah.
GET FUCKED!
RULES OF NATURE!
It is.
A horrible decision really, you know what they say about Witches. "Don't fuck with a Witch."
Huh, this is actually a very creative way of implementing game mechanics into a story. Kudos.
She has a point, you know.
Probably for the best, recharge her mental batteries as such.
Oh? This would probably mean more if I knew Mitsuru. My guess is he died or something, or something and the fact that she doesn't have a Persona really stings.
(Thanks for uploading this. I've been having a, tumultuous day to say the least, and this has put me in a MUCH better mood. So, thanks for this. Much like Starlight, you're helping other people. Man I needed a palette cleanser after the clusterfuck today's been.)
9579418
You don't really need information on Mitsuru to understand, but I'll at least fill you in on this much.
Mitsuru Kirijo is one of the party members in Persona 3. There, she's a teenager, but in later games she's an adult and head of the Kirijo Corporation, which makes cameo appearances throughout the Persona series. Mostly the spin off games though. Mitsuru is a Persona User of the Empress Arcana, and feels very strongly about looking out for Persona Users, considering her close friend (the Persona 3 protagonist) died becoming something that's protecting all of humanity.
Don't worry, all of this will be elaborated on in later chapters.
And I'm happy that this helped you. The whole point of my story is that I want to help the people around me with this, so if I can give you something, ANYTHING with it, then I did my part.
I am enjoying this story a lot. I eagerly await each new capter. :D
9581076
Well, it's up now.
This keeps getting better. It is fun how you incorporate game mechanics into the story and make them feel natural.
Why do they know so much about the Inaba incident and phantom theif terminology? No one but the investigation team and Adachi knew about the TV world and I don't even think people outside the phantom theives knew about their codenames besides maybe Sae Nijima and how do they know the wild card is also referred to as the Trickster only Igor refered to Joker as the Trickster. This is really stretching my suspension of disbelief.
9619899
It's my headcanon that all of the Persona Users are now under Mitsuru's watch and thus are extensions of the Kirijo Corporation. As such, she's been made aware of all of these incidents. This is perfectly believable too, since Persona 4 Arena and the other spin offs do have the teams meet on numerous occasions, and Mitsuru would want to keep all of them together so they can help prevent the Fall from ever happening again.
