A Kind, Helping Hoof

Fluttershy was walking around the Everfree Forest, with shaking hooves. She was terrified of the Everfree Forest but she knew she had to get to get to Zecora's so she could help her with some things. The shy pony tried hard to face her fears.

It's alright, Fluttershy. There's nothing to worry about...

Just then, Fluttershy heard bushes shaking. She jumped and then started to shake more.

"W-Who's there?" Fluttershy said in a scared voice. "I'm not afraid of you!"

Out from the bushes came baby bunnies. Their mother had died 2 days ago and they hadn't had food or water. Fluttershy looked at them with wide, concerning eyes. She wondered what they were doing here all by themselves. The shy pony then leaned down to get a closer glance at them.

"Oh my!" Fluttershy exclaimed. "You poor things! What are you little ones doing out here alone?"

The small bunnies just blinked at her.

Fluttershy wanted to help them in some way. She thought for a moment. After a few moments, she came up with an idea.

"You know what, I'm going to put you guys up for adoption!" Fluttershy smiled wide. "I'm sure ponies will adopt you!"

She picked the small animals up and took them to her cottage. She then gave them food and water. All of them now had full stomachs. The pegasus pony started to make a sign saying

Bunnies up for adoption

Fluttershy took the baby bunnies outside, near ponyville so ponies could adopt them. She sat down next to them, holding the sign up. Ponies walked past, ignoring the fact that these animals needed homes. Another pony walked past. The pegasus pony decided to ask them if they wanted to adopt one of the bunnies.

"Excuse me," said Fluttershy. "Would you like to adopt one of these bunnies?"

The pony turned to her and gave a rude response.

"Ugh, no! I don't want any of those rodents in my home!"

The pony then walked away. Fluttershy frowned. Another pony walked past. She decided to ask them if they wanted to adopt one of the bunnies.

"Excuse me," said Fluttershy. "Would you like to adopt one of these bunnies?"

The pony turned to her and gave a rude response.

"No! Animals are troublemakers and I don't want any of them causing trouble in my home!"

The pony then walked away. Fluttershy frowned.

Hours passed. Nopony would adopt any of the baby bunnies. It started to get dark so Fluttershy decided to take the baby bunnies inside.

We'll find you little ones a home. I promise...

...

The next day, Fluttershy took the baby bunnies back outside. She held the sign up, hoping that somepony would come to adopt one of them. Ponies walked past, still ignoring the fact that these bunnies needed homes. Another pony walked past. Fluttershy decided to ask them if they wanted to adopt one of the bunnies.

"Excuse me," said Fluttershy. "Would you like to adopt one of these bunnies?"

The pony turned to her and gave a rude response.

"Ugh, no! I hate rodents!"

The pony then walked away. Fluttershy frowned. Another pony walked past. She decided to ask them if they wanted to adopt one of the baby bunnies.

"Excuse me," said Fluttershy. "Would you like to adopt one of these bunnies?"

The pony turned to her and gave a rude response.

"No!"

The pony then walked away. Fluttershy frowned.

Hours passed. Nopony would adopt any of the baby bunnies. It started to get dark so Fluttershy decided to take the baby bunnies inside.

I really hope they get adopted soon...

Fluttershy took the baby bunnies outside, holding the sign up. Ponies walked past, still ignoring the fact that these bunnies needed homes like always.

Can't these ponies just take this seriously?!

She saw another pony. She hoped that they would adopt one of them.

"Excuse me," said Fluttershy. "Would you like to adopt one of these bunnies?" Fluttershy looked at them, hoping that they would say yes.

"Ugh, no! Can you please stop asking everyday for ponies to adopt these rodents?" The pony said in a disrespectful tone.

"They are not rodents!" Fluttershy replied back, defending the baby bunnies.

"Whatever. See you later, freak."

The pony walked away. Fluttershy gasped. How could somepony call her that?

How dare they call me a freak?

She sighed.

I just hope some ponies adopts these little guys...

...

Hours passed. Nopony has still not adopted the baby bunnies. Fluttershy started to get frustrated and then she started crying.

"I just want some ponies to adopt you guys!" Fluttershy sobbed. "Nothing is wrong with you! Nothing!"

The yellow pegasus continued to sob. Just then, a zebra from the Everfree Forest approached Fluttershy.

My my, what put you in such a state, Fluttershy?" The zebra asked.

Fluttershy lifted her head up. She gasped when she saw her.

"Zecora!" Fluttershy exclaimed.

Zecora chucked. "Yes, it's me. Now, what's wrong my dear?" Zecora asked again.

"Well... I found these baby bunnies in the Everfree Forest and decided to put them up for adoption since they were out there alone..." She paused.

"That's very generous of you," Zecora said.

"But..." Fluttershy continued. "Nopony will adopt them... they keep saying rude things about them..."

The zebra gasped.

"That's terrible!" She exclaimed.

"I know..." Fluttershy sniffled.

Zecora thought for a few moments. After a few moments, she decided to adopt all of the baby bunnies.

"You know what," said Zecora. "I will adopt all of the little bunnies.

The yellow pegasus gasped with wide eyes. "You will?!"

"Yes. When they are older, I will set them free so they can live on their by theirselves," The zebra explained.

Fluttershy smiled wide. She gave the bunnies to Zecora. Just then, she realized something. She didn't come over to her place today.

"Oh! Zecora, I'm sorry I didn't come over to your place toda-" She was about to finish but Zecora cut her off.

"It's fine," Zecora said. "You can come over tomorrow."

"Oh, alright," said Fluttershy.

The zebra then started to head back to the Everfree Forest. The yellow pegasus was glad that the baby bunnies got a home now. Well, it's temporary, of course...
