Ohhhhh, crap.
I hope this isn't the result of that overgrown cockroach Chrysalis picking this particular time to go spying through Shining's eyes.
The Coalition I like that, I'll to add to that: United Coalition Forces or UCF for short. What do you think of it Centurion?
9655474
1,000,000 bits says it is. Shining Armor is completely useless to equestria, but is the ideal sleeper Agent for Chrysalis. WHAT DOES CADENCE SEE IN HIM. HE HAS LITERALLY DONE NOTHING PRODUCTIVE. AT ALL.
9655479 I like it, anyway.
I mean, hell. That's what the alliance against Sadaam Hussain was called during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm waaaaaayyyyyyy back in the day.
9655512 I definitely agree with you on that.
As to that last bit?
Well, they say that "Love is Blind".
Although in Cadance's case, I think it's deaf and dumb as well.
9655512
Trophy husband...and maybe married for his looks.
9655607
Clearly she married him for something. Probably his junk it is the only possible solution.
9655512
Deaf, dumb, and apparently good in the sac. Only possible explanation.
9655588
I didn't know that.
9655722 Probably.
9656039 Well, now you do.
9656134
*Still wondering what Centurion thinks of it*
9656139 9656145 Well, there you go.
9656145
9656173
How does that answer my question of the addition to the Coalition name?
9656261 I don't think it does.
Kinda think we got our signals crossed on this one.
9656266
No it doesn't, and yeah they were.
9656299 Yup.
9655474
As far as I've read, she can't look through his eyes, if she could then she would know what was going on before the little meeting she had with her subjects. It's ether A: he is frustrated that his years of training and service is being treated as laughable by, in his eyes at least, a traitor who attacked his wife during the first wedding attempt, his princess and several other officers or B: it an after effect of the mind control like what he experienced during the wedding rehearsal
9656892 Huh.
I could have sworn that I read close to the end of the chapter in the Fall of Canterloi Interlude that she said she could do just that.
May have to go back and read that one again soon.
9656897
Same here.
9657046 Yup.
9656897
Wait no sorry, just looked at the chapter you mentioned and found out she could, that means she has no excuse to not know about who attacked the outpost
9657209
I never said she didn't know. The one who asked who attacked was a Changeling Commander.
9656892
Bit of both.
9657226
An ‘n 'da next chapta 'da nice an propa stomp'n uv dat grot chrysalis' swarm kontinues yes?
9657209 Thought so, and true.
9657282 Hopefully so.
9655474
9657226
And now we still need go through a few more chapters of him being Chrysalis' little playtoy.
9657317 Yep.
If Shining were perhaps a little more open about his thoughts and feelings, he would have instead said something like, “Know what? I... I know. I know that my men aren’t the best. I was always taught that this way was best, and now apparently I had the worst possible teachers. So don’t just assume you can do things, alright? Because look where that got me and Equestria.” And then he would have complained about the headache.
... You know, something a little more adult-like and well-reasoned that supports his previous statements. Not like his uselessness is completely his fault, after all. Not a fan of how you portrayed Shining this chapter, especially since he was calling Rainbow a spoiled brat after the party a few chapters back. You can easily make a few arguments in Shining’s defense for pretty much every dumb thing he’s said or done so far, but him walking out like that is downright childish and, I think, not like him at all.
I predict his headache was spurred on by Chrysalis seeing through his eyes and learning about the Coalition’s plans. I was also hoping that despite Dash having her valid reasons to hate the gang, the gang would at least be somewhat competent. As in, I hate this person at school, but I also know he’s got his own reasons for not bothering to blow his nose. Turns out he’s sick all the time and he tries to make as little a fuss as he can. See what I mean? That’s just more real and makes for better characters. If I were somehow in your shoes, I would go as far as making the future battle for Baltimare somewhat bloody for the Coalition, and having Dash and the Council realizing they should have listened to Shining’s advice, which I wrote up top. This would give him a place in the group, and maybe they would value what he says. That is more preferable, to me, than to make him a complete laughing stock. The fight scene where Dash pinned him in ten seconds is okay to me, because that pushes the story in a nice direction with Dash assuming the role as leader. Bashing him, seemingly just to bash him, is annoying.
To sum it up: Aw man, poor Shining.
9671224
Yeah, I know. I'm going back through and doing some general editing. A part of it involves re-writing some of the parts of the story; parts that I feel could use some work or just rework. That's part of it.
Thanks for the input. It helps, I assure you.
