Let me guess, you wrote the story with the LiS name and then you replaced them?
Because I did the contrary, and somehow some nicknames work better.
By the way, it's not because you use MLP names that the story suddenly becomes a MLP fic.

For the most part? No. I had been on a major LiS kick for a long time, and took one of my favorite moments, and imagined to myself, would it be feasible to have this place exist in the Equestria Girls universe? I thought so. Yes, there were some name swapping, but research was done to attempt to match these people with not only there EQG copy, but also any pont that existed in FiM and hadn't been humanized over. Trying to be as canon as possible.
But I appreciate the feedback <3

Honestly, I liked the story, even if it needs some editing, you sometimes use past and present tenses where you should only use past.
The main problem I have is that it's 100% LiS and 0% EQG.
If you want to make a link between the two, you have to adapt them, not just change names.
When I tried to read it with EQG names, it was kind of hard and annoying, the only way I found to enjoy it was to replace the names with the LiS cast.
The relationship between Max and Victoria is not the same as the one between Sunset and Twilight.
So if you want to make it work, you either have to build the background or adapt, here you just take the LiS background, but only the bucket scene.
Another problem is that the characters of Twilight and Max are not the same either. Max is nosy, even if she's kind of an outcast she's still able to to find a link between all groups.
Wile Twilight has her own clique and is kind of introverted.
The same can be said about S.S and Victoria.
