You are now the Cutie Mark Crusaders. You can choose to be each Crusader, but you must wait three commands to switch to another Cutie Mark Crusader. Which Crusader will you be first, and what will you do?

You are now Sweetie Belle. You've been helping Scootaloo with writing dialogue, and now you're thinking about what kind of adventures you three could go on. However, you've been fairly distracted by the weird book. You thought it was just an interesting book to take, even if you couldn't read the cover. It's a little unnerving...

...especially how it seemed to suddenly become readable after Apple Bloom took a good look at it. You're fairly certain it didn't say that before. You'd rather not think about it, but it's hard to ignore. It was a dumb idea to take this book.

You bring the book over to you and prop it against the wall. The pages are black with white features instead of the usual, and there are some author notes on the inside cover.

"Note To All Future Readers: This book has been enchanted so that even the most complex and intricate wordings would eventually simplify themselves in your eye, making anything in this book readable."

A signature follows, but is unreadable. You've never learned cursive.

> That note sounds too complicated. Just put the book down, books aren't adventure you silly pony!

You're not a genius, but you can understand what "making anything readable" means. It'd be ironic if you didn't.

...and yet that signature is still unreadable.

> This book is creepy. Let's go see if Zecora knows anything about it!

Well... *munch* While that is a good idea, you might as well wait until later. Apparently Apple Bloom had plans to go into Everfree today anyway.

> Find that the book is about fabric. The one of reality, actually. It's a spellbook for growing unicorns, full of training spells.

The foreword after the author notes seems to go into detail about magic theory, elaborating on the unicorn's innate ability to warp the fabric of reality. You know that this is incredibly boring, but honestly, you're not going to try magic without actually reading the important stuff first...though you suppose there's no real harm in speed reading, as this might take a while...

You are now Scootaloo! You were about to talk to Apple Bloom about her brief trip into the Everfree Forest earlier today, but you don't know exactly WHAT to ask about. What will you ask her?

> Begin dialogue tree.

Scootaloo: ...Apple Bloom, what are you doing?

Apple Bloom: Lookin aht the spahder. Tryin ta figure out how it got there... maybe if we should get rid of it. Ah mean, it's ah creepy crawleh and all, but it does make the ceilin look more excitin than just plain wood.

Scootaloo: Yeah I don't really care about that. What I DO care about is... What were you up to with Pinkie Pie before?

Apple Bloom: Well, ah was kinda plannin a surprise party for ya, but since we're gonna be adventurin today, it'd be best if ah letcha know beforehand.

Scootaloo: Aw, thanks Apple Bloom~!

Apple Bloom: Do ah detect a hint of sweetness in your words?

Scootaloo: ...Shaddup. So Fluttershy told me that you were in the Everfree Forest earlier today!

Apple Bloom: Yeah. Ah was tryin to get a cartography cutie mark bah makin a map of the forest, but Fluttershy shooed me out before ah could get any real work done.

Scootaloo: Did you at least draw something up?

Apple Bloom: Nothin worth hangin on to.

Scootaloo: Darn... Hey, you've been in Everfree a lot because of how much you visit Zecora, right? Any idea what kinds of monsters live in there?

Apple Bloom: Well, cockatrices, obviously. There are also ursas, the Blanks, which are what ah like to call the zombie ponies that live in a certain area of Everfree, manticores, parasprites, and at least one sea serpent.

Scootaloo: ...hm...hey, ya think that if we fought one of those monsters and won, we'd have an awesome story to tell my folks!

Apple Bloom: Yeah! We just gotta choose which monster tah fight so we can be prepared!

Scootaloo: Hm... which monster...?

> Sea serpent.
>> Prepare for monster fight by getting birthday presents.

Scootaloo: Hmm... alright! I've decided that we're going to take down a sea serpent!

Apple Bloom: Well how're we gonna do that?

Scootaloo: Well first...maybe I could go get all my presents from my surprise party so I can be more prepared!

Apple Bloom: Scootaloo, no! Pinkie Pie doesn't know that you know about the party! Heck, ah didn't Pinkie Swear just because ah knew ya would've figured it out!

Scootaloo: Well... darn. Okay, I guess we can plan without new stuff... what do we have to do first?

Apple Bloom: Well, ah suppose the three things we need are how ta find a sea serpent, how ta fight a sea serpent, and how ta defend ourselves against a sea serpent.

Scootaloo: ...how would I even go about doing that?

Apple Bloom: Why the heck would ah know?

Scootaloo: Hm... okay I got an idea! Apple Bloom, you can head to Zecora's place and ask her what we could use to defend ourselves... like, healing potions and stuff... Sweetie Belle can go ask Fluttershy about how we'd fight a sea serpent, since she's taken down a manticore and a dragon, and I...well, I guess I'm stuck going to Twilight's place and figuring out how to find a sea serpent. That cool with everyone?

Sweetie Belle: Yeah, that sounds fair.

Apple Bloom: ...kay.

An objective is in mind! Now which objective to follow through with first?

1777 Well, people follow the adventure, and if I just edit the chapters normally, I don't think the followers get alerted of the updates. So I gotta bunp it. Either that or wait until the forum thread passes Chapter 2 and update it all at once, but due to how forum adventures work I have no idea when that would even happen.

You know...that list might actually be in order of decreasing danger.

Cockatrices are among the smallest, but Insta-kills always suck.

Ursas will squish them like bugs. They might retreat, but this is definitely one game where the only winning move is not to play.

Blanks are numerous and pretty obviously evil, and might be inescapable without Ruby's help. But the fillies could probably try to hang on for a little while. Also, the Blanks don't really want to KILL the fillies per say. They just want to protect them. FOREVER.

Manticores are big but not quite as much as Ursas. And besides, they're just big of baby kitties. yes they are! yes they are!

Parasprites are an exercise in futility, but not really deadly.

The Sea Serpent seemed like a jovial fellow and probably won't hurt the fillies. ...Not just that, he's kind of a wuss. They might actually stand a chance of something that could be called victory.
