It's been two weeks since that fateful night at the Summer Sun Celebration, and Royal Guard member Silver Lining still feels the guilt over failing to protect Princess Celestia, even though she sits safely in the castle in Canterlot. Concerned, a friend recommends he meet with Princess Celestia to discuss this. But what will be revealed when they look back on that night? What really happened while the Mane 6 were searching for the Elements of Harmony?

“Well...time to fine the missing guests."

Your Majesty is how you address a Queen, Your Highness is for princess and princesses.

Also as a royal guard he would know Twilight is the protege of Celestia and spike her assistant,no?

At least the way i saw it Celestia has a school, but doesnt directly teach in it (shes a princess after all, ruler of a whole Principality), but Twilight she picked as her personal student, you dont really have time for to many of those.

Twilight arrived in town that day, so her having a mail box with her name on it is kinda funny :P

Other then that pretty nice story and good luck with writing more.

First of all, thank you for your constructive comment.

1, Yeah, probably should've done my Princess/Queen research a bit more... :derpytongue2:

2. The way I personally saw it, Princess Celestia did not teach Twilight Sparkle directly, but still probably spent some time with her, as she may have known she would be the one to bear the Elements of Harmony again. As for Spike, he did not go the school with Twilight (being a dragon and all that), so he would've not been seen much around Twilight. Thus, Silver would've never known about Spike, and would've probably seen the two walking around and talking. Also, he probably heard a few things from Shining Armor about her.

3. Yeah, having her name on a mailbox despite being there for one day is kinda silly. :twilightblush: My (very weak) defense is that Princess Celestia set it up before Twilight Sparkle left, just so she could still receive mail from others during her studies.

I will make the changes soon, thanks again for your helpful comment.

Lauren Faust said that spike was raised by Celestia :rainbowwild: and he was Twilight's assistant for an unknown time. And they lived in the castle or a library that was part of the castle.(more like a tower in the castle i would say though, Twilight still loves her books and even her room is full of them, in the library xD). If he was on guard duty he would have at least meet them once, maybe he sucks at guarding :pinkiecrazy:

She would have been a normal student if she just passed her entrance exam, but Celestia took notice of the powers she had. The way i see it was her going to school with others but taking special lessons from the princess on the castle grounds, lessons about how to control the power she has and some other special things you dont learn in normal Unicorn School.

Also the decision to stay in Ponyville was Twilight's, we dont really know if Celestia set it up knowing that. By Twilight's character before meeting her friends i would assume she would just get back to Canterlot with the Princess. (especially the way she adores the princess and is somewhat obsessed about her heh). Even if your an all knowing internet troll-goddess you cant really predict something like that. :trollestia:

The way I see it, he probably did meet Twilight, but didn't remember it. There are a large amount of ponies working in the castle (other guards, cooks, maids) that would be walking around with Celestia for one reason for another. He probably thought it was just some worker's younger sister or daughter. And believe me, if he sucked at guarding, he wouldn't have been chosen to work on the Summer Sun Celebration.

Also, I would like to note something. I find it odd that the Princess would organize Twilight to live in a library if she was going to leave it the next day. If her visit was temporary, wouldn't Celestia set her up in a nice apartment? I am sure somepony would rent out a room for the Princess. I realize that a library was more her style, but Twilight wouldn't have been use it to it's full extent, even if everypony was not trying to make friends with her.

On a side note, there had to be some marking outside of Twilgiht's house. Otherwise, how would Pinkie Pie know which house a pony who she has barely known lives in? Unless Pinkie Sense works with real estate...

True and yeah not every guard would know her, good point there. And the bad at guarding was a joke, we saw in the story hes pretty good at it.

A nice apartment with the reference guide to the elements on the table, a nice note saying "ignore this please, not like you will need it to defeat a evil goddess that will want to bring night forever, nope". She knew Luna was coming back, but she cant just tell Twilight go find the other elements to defeat NMM, she would take it as an assignment rather then let it happen naturally.

And where better to "hide" a book then in a library, its not about using it to her full extent but to use what she needs to.
I don't want to see Celestia as a all knowing all powerful being that knows all and just plays mortals like a pawn(even if for their good mostly), she has her flaws and weaknesses, sure she knows a lot but that does not mean she can predict all scenarios and prepare a plan B for all, Discord pretty much messed up her plans by stealing the Elements from the chamber, that she didnt expect for sure.
And here she is also dealing with a god/dess so i would think she cant predict all she will do or what she can do.

As for Pinkie Pie, shes pinkie pie, she can find time spells lost centuries ago so why not a house xD

I read this a while back, but it was great! :pinkiehappy: It was the BEST! POSSIBLE! THING! :yay:
