Chapter 30 Payback part 1 Super Stallion's Inferno

"So Celestia, have you seen Twilight recently?" Squeaky asked as they were having another indoor picnic in her chambers.

"Not really I wanted to but it can be really hard to balance a social life when you have my job. Or really just having a social life with this job, honestly Squeaky you should feel super lucky just to be here with me."

"I do oh believe me I do." Squeaky then planted his lips right on hers to her surprise and delight.

"Thanks I needed that."

"I had a feeling you did."

"Well, back to Twilight, do you think “Super Stallion” could figure out how to help her with her memory?"

"Well I suppose I can go over to her castle later and see if I can help her remember anything."

"No Squeaky, not you Super Stallion, remember?"

"Oh actually Twilight already knows I'm Super Stallion. At least she used to."

"She does, did? For how long?"

"Ever since I defeated Discord."

"Does anypony else know?"

"Well unfortunately Discord figured it out that's why Twilight is learning to use chaos magic like him so he won't blab. Really dodged the bullet on that."

"I see, my former student is even more noble than I thought. That's a tall order by the way."

"Plus there's Star Swirl the Bearded."

"Well that makes sense Luna and I could never keep him from figuring out anything."

"Also Spike knows but he figured that out at the same time as Twilight and lastly Sapphire Shores."

"Sapphire Shores?! The pop star, how did she find out?"

"It's kind of a long story."

"Well another time then, for now I should probably be thinking of other ways to get Twilight's memory back."

"I know Celestia, maybe you could get her favorite book. Actually what is her favorite book?"

"All of them," Celestia answered who couldn't help but laugh at her own joke and Squeaky joined in as well. "By the way, something I was wondering," Princess Celestia said when she stopped laughing. "How did Starlight Glimmer get away?"

"She got away by running into the nearby mountains. I tried to find her but there were way more tunnels than I thought. That wasn't the 1st time the bad guy got away and it probably won't be the last." Princess Celestia then kissed Squeaky as she felt now he was the one that needed it.

"We all fail from time to time but what's important is that we take the time to learn from it. In the meantime I should focus on getting Twilight’s memory back. After all, she got hurt during the prison riot when I should have been protecting her."

"But princess, you told me you were brainwashed. What happened wasn't your fault."

“I know that in my mind but I don’t know it in my heart, or maybe it’s the other way around. Sometimes it’s a little hard to tell.”

"Well all the same it's about time for Super Stallion to make sure everything is alright."

"Oh Squeaky can't you stay a little longer? What about the cheesecake don't you want anymore?"

"Maybe next time, I'm stuffed and need to burn off the extra calories. Besides, those escaped rouges aren't going to capture themselves. Though if they did it would sure make my job a heck of a lot easier." Squeaky then kissed his precious princess goodbye and flew off after becoming his alter ego.

"HELP HELP!" A pony cried out that Super Stallion picked up with his super hearing.

"That sounds like Twilight," Super Stallion said and flew to the castle so fast he almost made a sonic rainboom. "What's the matter Princess Twilight?"

"Oh Super Stallion thank goodness I've been robbed."

"Somepony stole from the princess of friendship, what did they steal?"

"I…don’t know?"

"Huh?" Twilight then brought Super Stallion into the castle and showed him around a bit while explaining that she lost her memory and Super Stallion decided to play along. Eventually she brought him into the room where she believed the robbery took place.

"I'm pretty sure that something in here was taken."

"Uh there's nothing in her except for a pedestal."

"Exactly there's supposed to be something on that pedestal otherwise why even have it here in the 1st place?"

"Well I guess that makes sense I'll try to get back what might have been stolen. Though that's going to be pretty difficult even for me because I don't know what I'm looking for."

"I know what you're looking for," Spike said. "Twilight I got your book." Twilight then went over to get the book and left after Spike insisted on taking it from here.

"It was chaos magic that was stolen."

"Chaos magic!" Super Stallion's jaw nearly hit the floor. "You mean like Discord?"

"Yeah a little before Twilight lost her memory Discord dropped off a ton of chaos magic and Twilight put it there."

"Why would somepony want to steal that? Actually that’s not hard to figure out."

"Yeah if I could use chaos magic I'd make a mountain of delicious gems then I'd make a flying golden carriage to take Rarity to a romantic island in the sky designed to be the ultimate romantic area so Rarity and I can….Uh anyway, chaos magic would be very useful for all sorts of things."

"Yeah, like transforming the cosmos so that everything is icing," Pinkie Pie said.

"Pinkie? How long have you been standing there?" Spike asked rather nervously.

"I came in on uh." Spike subtly gave a sigh of relief.

"Don't mind me, I'm just here to give Super Stallion this letter. Actually it's more of a note because it is a note, a ransom note." Hearing that Super Stallion grabbed the note that explained the mayor had been ponynapped and was being held for ransom which was to be dropped off in Ghastly Gorge.

Mayor Mare, having been taken against her will was placed in a cage that was pony sized with Scar Flank and Pony Ivy standing close by. "You fiends won't get away with this!"

"We already have," Pony Ivy replied to the imprisoned mayor.

"Uh no we haven't," Scar Flank corrected.

"I know I just always wanted to say that. By the way I know the grand plan calls for a bunch of bits but if there's anything left over do you think I can use that to get my hooves on stuff that will make plants go faster and stronger?"

"Not all of your plans have to be plant based you know."

"Oh I get it, think outside the garden wall."

"Will you 2 stop chatting away and pay attention," a hooded figure said. "We have to keep our wits about us and be ready to head out once we take all those bits."

"The only thing you 3 stooges are taking is a beating," Super Stallion said as he was on top of the gorge holding the cage that imprisoned the mayor and freed her by breaking it wide open.

"Thank you so much Super Stallion, I've been stuck in a cage like that 2 times too many."

"No problem, just all part of the superhero package including taking down those who don't seem to learn from their mistakes."

"Well well this is unfortunate but was still expected," the hooded figure said. "I was hoping we could get this ponynapping over with before we crossed paths, but I suppose not even the perfect plan guarantees a flawless execution."

"And just who are you supposed to be, the new ringleader?" Super Stallion asked not recognizing the voice of the hooded mare.

"Something like that," the hooded figure answered as she threw her hooded robe off and swirls of fire danced somewhat around her.

"I better get going," Mayor Mare said who then ran off.

"Call me Inferno." Inferno then shot out a rather large beam of fire right at Super Stallion who couldn't dodge in time.

"Hot! Hot! Hot!" Super Stallion rolled on the ground a little as he was quite hurt from the fire.

"And there's plenty more where that came from." Inferno then shot a fire beam directly under herself to get her to fly up to the top of Ghastly Gorge where Super Stallion was. "Time to share the warmth."

"Uh no thanks you can keep it." Super Stallion then dodged the various fire balls that Inferno launched at him then flew directly around Inferno and bonked her on her head with his right elbow. Inferno then made a sphere of fire surround her forcing Super Stallion to back away. "Stop, drop, and roll stop, drop, and roll! Why does that fire hurt so much?"

"Well come on let's not let a mare do all the work," Pony Ivy said as he was able to manipulate the little plant life in Ghastly Gorge enough to summon a giant root to pick him up.

"I don't think you 2 would be the best in a fight against Super Stallion," Scar Flank said.

"Why not?" Pony Ivy had the root lift him to the top of the gorge but some of the fire from Inferno's spells got on the root and quickly burned it forcing it to drop Pony Ivy.

"Well that is rather a major factor."

"Is that all you can do is fly away like an annoying little bug?" Inferno said, trying to egg Super Stallion on.

"You wish," Super Stallion said as charged right at Inferno. She tried to use fire to defend herself but Super Stallion flew through it and blasted her with a spell that literally sent her from one edge of the gorge all the way to the other. Super Stallion then flew over ready to keep fighting. "I'm not scared of a little fire."

"A little? I'm just getting warmed up." Inferno then summoned a fire dragon that lunged at Super Stallion but he dodged it only to get blasted when the fire dragon shot out fire that forced him out to the bottom of the gorge.

"A dragon made of fire breathing fire, how redundant can you get?" Super Stallion asked as he picked himself up and the fire dragon flew down to the gorge to continue the fight and Inferno slid down to join it.

"Things are heating up for you Super Stallion," Inferno said.

"You know the only things that hurt more than the 3rd degree burns are your cheesy one-liners."

"I wasn't going to say anything but she really is laying it on thick with the puns," Pony Ivy said that Scar Flank couldn't help but nod in agreement.

"And besides that Inferno," Scar Flank said. "We have other things to do than to watch you show off."

"I suppose I did get a little carried away. We do have bigger fish to fry so we can settle this next time Super Stallion."

"We're settling this right now." Super Stallion then used a water spell to put out the fire dragon and also managed to slam Inferno against the wall of Ghastly Gorge. But that was a costly mistake. The vibration made from Inferno's impact caused several quarray eels to come out of the caves and try to gobble up Super Stallion.

"Now there's an idea," Inferno said. She then cast another fire spell that formed into a fist that punched the other side of Ghastly Gorge which made even more eels come out. Before long Super Stallion had his hooves full stopping the eels but it was hardly a problem for him. However when he fought off the eels and forced them back into their caves Inferno along with Scar Flank and Pony Ivy had vanished, like a puff of smoke.

Super Stallion quickly flew off trying to figure things out. "Ponynapping for bits doesn't really fit the MO of Pony Ivy or Scar Flank. Well maybe Scar Flank. And where did this new chick come from and what's her deal? On top of that I still need to figure out what happened to the chaos magic taken from Twilight's…Chaos magic of course! That's why Inferno's fire power was so strong. Chaos magic gives me a run for my bits. The question is did she already know that when she stole the chaos magic?"

"HELP BUGBEAR!"

"Was that from Ponyville again? This is going to be another one of those long days isn't it?" Super Stallion flew down as the ponies were somewhat in a panic but were mostly focusing on the wedding between Cranky and Matilda.

"Twilight, don't panic, this is nothing we can't handle," Rainbow Dash said.

"Are you sure?" Suddenly the bugbear fell to the ground, knocked out cold. "Wow you weren't kidding."

"Uh I don't think we did that, did we do that?" Fluttershy asked.

"No you didn't," Super Stallion said in the air. He flew down and hit the bugbear on the head with his back legs knocking it out on the spot. "It's nice to know that some of my problems can still be handled no problem."

"Wow Super Stallion thanks again!"

"No problem Princess Twilight."

"No! This is awful!"

"The horror, the horror!" Super Stallion flew over to the mares in distress to see what was the matter and found 3 on the ground.

"Our precious flowers have a stem out of place."

"Uh are these 3 always like this?" Super Stallion asked the mane 6 who followed him.

"Yes unfortunately darling," Rarity answered. "It's so ridiculous to see full grown mares act so dramatic over something so trivial." Rarity then noticed that her friends were staring at her, even Twilight. "What?"

Some time later in Manehattan Scar Flank, Pony Ivy, and Inferno made their way to a rather large bank in the dead of night. "So what are we doing here again?" Pony Ivy asked.

"I already told you," Inferno responded.

"No you didn't."

"I didn't?"

"No, that's why I asked."

"Okay well the whole mayor ransom plan didn't work out so we need to find another way to get our hooves on a rump load of bits. So plan b is going for the classic bank robbery."

"Okay and why do we need the bits again?"

"Our master planner's master plan," Inferno said. "Now we're here so let's grab the bits before captain goody goody shows up." Suddenly Pony Ivy looked around as if he lost something.

"Is something the matter, big green?" Inferno asked.

"Oh it's just I was expecting Super Stallion to show up right when you said that."

"Does he usually do that?"

"If he didn't I'd have put me and my family name back on top by now," Scar Flank said.

"Well it's good to be effective at my job." The 3 rouges then looked up and saw none other than Super Stallion.

"I knew it, I knew it!" Pony Ivy called out.

"I guess we'll have to put our plan on hold until we take care of you once and for all. Oh wait, we can do both."

"Oh really? I overheard your plan of robbing a bank. Your fire isn't going to melt the walls so easily."

"Oh we have something else to help us get into the bank." Suddenly Super Stallion heard a wall being broken and Super Stallion saw that it was the bugbear that he defeated back in Ponyville who was breaking into the bank. Super Stallion was then blasted right in the chest by Inferno's fire so hard it made him fall on the ground.

Ouch! Right in the chest, that's what I get for not paying attention. Super Stallion then flew up ready to fight again and saw the bugbear emptying the bank.

"I should thank you for taking this big guy down in Ponyville," Inferno said. “It saved us the trouble of doing it. We just had to grab it as a group of guards were trying to take it to Tartarus. All right, big guy, show Super Stallion how tough you really are!"

The bugbear then stopped emptying out the bank and flew right over to Super Stallion who noticed it had little to know facial expressions like it was brainwashed.

"What did they do to this poor thing?" The bugbear then attacked Super Stallion while Pony Ivy and Scar Flank took out the last of the bits ready to make a run for it.

"All right," Scar Flank said with excitement. "Finally after all this time a plan that's going to work."

"Not on my watch pal," Super Stallion grabbed the bugbear and gave it a big toss making it land right on Pony Ivy and Scar Flank stopping them in their tracks and knocking the bugbear out. "2 down or rather 3 and 1 to go."

"Don't act like you've already won!" Inferno then summoned her fire dragon once again. But Super Stallion then used magic to make a sea serpent out of water appear.

"Hey! You ripped off my spell!"

"imitation is the greatest form of flattery." Super Stallion's spell flew at Inferno's and they canceled each other out creating so much steam Inferno couldn't see past her muzzle.

"Where'd you go plagiarizer?!" Super Stallion then flew right through the steam and punched her right in the face which sent her flying right out of the steam and nearly knocked her out.

"Did that give you a good enough idea?"

"How dare you sucker punch me!"

"My dad always told me never to strike a mare but in your case I'm making an exception!"

"I'll show you an exception!" Inferno then made a fire tornado that pushed Super Stallion back and then she blasted him head on with almost a dozen fireballs. After making him back off she noticed that the bugbear was being lifted up in the air by Pony Ivy's roots allowing him and Scar Flank to get up. "Well are 2 just going to do nothing while I do all the work?"

"That didn't seem to bother you last time," Scar Flank said, picking himself up.

"Time to fight fire with fire." Super Stallion then made a ball of fire of his own and threw it at Inferno who countered it by summoning fire around her to protect herself and as a result the 2 fires canceled each other out.

"Ha you can't beat me with fire, where did you go?" Inferno searched but Super Stallion was nowhere in sight as he flew over to Pony Ivy and Scar Flank to pick up all the bags filled with bits and put them back in the bank then used his magic to repair the damage to the wall made by the bugbear.

"What are you doing!" Scar Flank nearly yelled out.

"I believe the official term would be stopping an attempted robbery."

"You haven't stopped us yet mr. high and mighty," Pony Ivy said. He then summoned a few more large roots and had them attack Super Stallion. But Super Stallion dodged the attacks with no problem as he cast several fires at not only the roots attacking him but also the ones holding up the still unconscious bugbear.

"Inferno isn't the only one that knows who to use fire spells, you know." Super Stallion then flew out of the way moments before the fire burned the roots and made the bugbear fall on Scar Flank and Pony Ivy again. Super Stallion then got back to fighting Inferno who was going crazy with all the fire while Scar Flank and Pony Ivy crawled out from under this time.

"I'm really beginning to hate that guy," Scar Flank said.

"I'm really beginning to hate getting flatten by this thing," Pony Ivy added. Just then several police ponies arrived. "Well this just went from bad to worse."

"You think?" Suddenly the bugbear awoke and attacked Scar Flank and Pony Ivy. They tried to tell it to stop but it didn't work. "Now this thing isn't taking orders I thought it was supposed to listen to us."

"That's what he told us. I guess when Super Stallion knocked it out it must have returned to its senses." The bugbear then started to attack the buildings around it as if it was engulfed with rage. Super Stallion saw the bugbear about to attack the police but he lifted them up with magic and dropped them on a nearby roof.

"Wow, that was a close one thanks, Super Stallion," a police officer said.

"No problem but I think you all should stay here while I handle this mess." Super Stallion then flew back at the bugbear and socked it right in the jaw knocking it out for the 3rd time now. "I'm actually starting to feel sorry for this thing." Super Stallion then dodged a fire attack from behind and turned around to once again face Inferno. "I'm also getting tired of your sneak attacks."

"All right then here's something new, I always did like to show off." Inferno then made a huge ball of fire and threw it right at Super Stallion who made a shield all around him but it broke and he was engulfed in flames forcing him to the ground. When he got there Inferno hit with more and more fireballs.

After that Pony Ivy got a root to stretch out and grabbed Super Stallion by his back legs then slammed him against several buildings before pounding him into the ground and Scar Flank blasted him in the back with the strongest spells he could muster.

"All right you stallions let's really let him have it."

"Fine with me," Scar Flank said.

"Here here." Pony Ivy then got the root to lift Super Stallion up again but this time he grabbed onto the root and pulled it until the whole thing came out of the ground and then he threw it at Inferno who cut through it with a large fire knife.

"Oh there's an idea." Inferno then summoned a dozen large fire knives and threw them all at Super Stallion. "Let's see what you can do about those."

"I'll give it a whirl." Super Stallion spun around so fast he made a tornado that all the fire knives got caught in it and Super Stallion flew out of it. "That just came to me right now if you can believe it."

"And you thought my puns were cheesy?"

"Comedy can be very hit or miss." Super Stallion then dodged several spells that were cast at him by Scar Flank and then hit him with a stun spell. "Speaking of hit and miss." Super Stallion then charged at Pony Ivy who tried to whack him with several roots but he managed to dodge all of them and flew right at Pony Ivy.

"Oh no," Pony Ivy said right before Super Stallion punched him into the bank wall, nearly knocking him out. Inferno then summoned several large fire arms that tried to grab Super Stallion but he summoned a tidal wave with a water spell that put all the arms out and pushed back Inferno.

"Surf's up."

"You can't put me out that easily!" Inferno then shot fireball after fireball at Super Stallion who dodge then no problem. Inferno used fireballs that turned around after Super Stallion dodged them But Super Stallion used a water whip that put them out. Inferno summoned a huge fireball again and launched right out Super Stallion who blew a gust of wind straight through the giant fireball which disrupted it and blew it out from within.

"It's time you learned not to play with fire!" Super Stallion charged at Inferno who was exhausted and could barely light a flame. "Looks like you're all burnt out." Super Stallion gave Inferno a mean right hook, ironically knocking her out cold. Super Stallion then took her over to the bugbear and tossed her beside it and suddenly he was attacked from behind by Scar Flank who recently got free of the stun spell.

"This isn't over yet I can still finish you off!" Scar Flank then began to wail on Super Stallion with his forelegs and spells but Super Stallion soon forced him off with a punch and he landed on the ground.

"It's time for you to call it quits," Super Stallion said after getting back up in the air.

"I'll never quit! Go ahead and take me back to prison. I'll keep escaping as many times as it takes." Super Stallion then lifted him up similar to Inferno.

"And I'll keep stopping you and making sure you go back as many times as it takes." Super Stallion then knocked him out cold similar to Inferno. After that he brought him to Inferno and the bugbear but when he flew over to get Pony Ivy he was gone. "Well I guess this is another mistake I'll have to learn from, when you try to knock somepony out make sure they get knocked out."

Super Stallion then helped the police restrain the rogues as a mysterious pony far away watched with a pair of binoculars.
