Aside from the plot advancing WAAAAYYYYY too fast, the rather poor characterization, the plot devices that just aren't working for me, and the very abrupt ending, this was pretty good.

Not bad. But very rushed with an very abrupt and open ending.

Small suggestion: Look for an editor. This story needs one. Really.
There is an unhealty number of errors. You can still follow the story, but it's more difficult than necessary.
