Often a single day, a single event can change our lives forever. But even when that event is over, life will find a new equilibrium of sorts. It’s just a matter of accepting this new ‘normal’.
Well, that's not good... but at the very least, the barrier between their worlds destabilizing should make it easier to create a new portal, hopefully stabilizing it in the process. Not sure about the EQG-verse though.
6924860 Yeah but trying to get him to give up his new game of "Watch the humans cause confusion and chaos wherever they wander" will take quite a while. Almost one story length, I assume.
While obviously this story is going to have some amount of explicit material, would you estimate it to be less than the original, about the same, or more than the original?
Great chapter. I am pretty sure that Twi and Rainbow will get back eventually. But until then they get to stay with Twilight and Dash. I wonder how everyone will react to the relationship between Twilight and Dash, and even more to what all four of them have got up to together. Looking forward to the next chapter.
Discord is the Key to this one, they need to learn to trust him. I do not think he is the bad guy in all this!!
He did save the humans form being lost in the in time and space. He can snap his fingers and put the mirror back together again, All the need to do is ask. and ask nicely.
“Remind me why we never turned him back to stone?” Twilight asked through a facehoof.
THAT'S BEEN MY QUESTION EVER SINCE YOU UNSTONED HIM! Seriously the guys an asshole, why he is still free I don't know. He might be alright if you could take his power away, or at least turn it down a few notches. Having said all that, the author here really has written him well, complete and total prick, perfect.
“Hush, Rainbow. Seriously, I remember your explanation to Scootaloo… I thought they were going to call the cops on you.” “She wanted to know the mechanics,” Rainbow said defensively. “What was I supposed to do, not teach her something?” “You could’ve tried it without showing her!” Twi scowled. “How can you explain something without showing?” “You undressed in front of her and explained everything!”
6926630 No they're not. Chaos is generally a lack of order. Disharmony is, obviously, the opposite of harmony, which could be considered a form of order. Even if they were in contradiction, so what? That sort of thing happens throughout mythology. Example: Artemis is, among other things, the goddess of both virginity and of childbirth.
Speaking of Greek gods, Harmonia is the goddess of harmony and concord (agreement). Her opposite is Eris, the goddess of chaos and strife. The Roman names for Harmonia and Eris are, respectively, Concordia and Discordia.
6924966 We should have a new SI unit. I propose bokicorn. One bokicorn is equal to the length of one book. A decibokicorn would be equal to the length of a story arc. A centibokicorn would be one chapter. Millibokicorn is a page, microbokicorn is a paragraph, nanobokicorn is a sentence, picobokicorn is a phrase, femtobokicorn is a word, attobokicorn is a syllable, zeptobokicorn is a phoneme, and yoctobokicorn is a letter. On the other end of the scale, a decabokicorn is a dulogy, hectobokicorn is a trilogy, kilobokicorn is a series, megabokicorn is an author's collected works, gigabokicorn is all writing, terabokicorn is beyond mortal ken, and petabokicorn is lots of fun, you should do it every day.
Chaos can be created naturally, while Disharmony is a purely artificial construct. Some things found in nature can appear disharmonious, that just humans forcing their perspective on nature.
Also your examples are wrong, not because the information is wrong, but because your presenting it in a forced perspective, you atr cherry picking the facts to make you look good while talking out of your ass.
So, i just finished reading the original story, and i have to say, in these first two chapters I am already positively impressed. First and fofemost, the connection with the previous story is clear from the very beginning, something that too many sequels seem to overlook, and if continuity between chapters will be as strict as it was in the prequel I can't be but satisfied. I like the fact that they begin right where the previous one left off, and even though this eats away room for further inter-chapter side stories, to me the coherence is well worth it. Another remarkable point is Discord: in this story he is wondrously similar to the Discord in early canon, and his abilities as both a witty comedian and a sly storyteller are implemented whith striking and to-the-point impact. I think he has already influenced the story for the better, introducing an infinite amount of variables and exploits that will break any potential monotony in the blink of an eye. While I am, indeed, lookong forward to lots of sex between lovers and maybe somepony else (maybe thanks to Discord?) I am also intrigued by the role that other characters will play. At this point in the story, I am unable to tell how much the princesses, Shining Armor or the remaining mane four will be relevant in the next chapters, but I would love to see a little interaction, not necessarily erotic, and some further character development, on the mieable example of Discord. I certainly enjoyed the secondary characters ftom the prequel, both in diversity, variety and number, but rather than a "more of the same" I think that maybe I could like a little more exploration of this aspect. Most of all, I would love that the author (whom I do not dare to adress directly) carries on as long as he or she wishes to, and not let my uninformed comment, my inability to properly express myself, my presumptious suggestions or my ignorance of the English language be an obstacle on their mirable work. Honestly looking forward to the next update, -Number Eight
6927712 Even if I accept for the sake of argument that chaos "can be" natural while disharmony is artificial, so what? In what way does that make it impossible for Discord to be the spirit of both?
6931266 Forced perspective is the term I use for when someone presents information that is actually unrelated to the point they are making but it makes there point look good. If Discord was the god of Chaos and Disharmony, it would be fine, and the godly example would be perfectly right to use. But Discord calls himself the Spirit of Chaos and disharmony, and spirit's are (usually) completely natural in nature.
6931275 So "forced perspective" has nothing to do with either forcing something or perspective? Okay, whatever.
It's called an analogy. Argument from analogy is a type of inductive reasoning. Both Discord and Artemis are supernatural beings with specific domains. According to you, chaos and disharmony are contradictory domains (a claim I dispute), but Artemis is a goddess of two actually contradictory domains. It is therefore unreasonable to dismiss Discord has being the spirit of both chaos and disharmony based solely on the claim that the two domains are contradictory.
Artemis isn't the only character with governance over contradictory domains, either.
Disharmony is a artificial construct forced upon the world by sentient preconception. I believe that the Disharmony bit in his title is him putting on airs to annoy his opponents, usually known as the Elements of Harmony.
6931407 You'll have to support that claim. No argument from analogy uses two identical things; it wouldn't be an analogy in that case. In order to dismiss it, you need to explain why one being a spirit and one being a god makes the analogy irrelevant.
True, but There are different types of Apples. So if you want to make an analogy involving (super)natural Spirits, Look up Other Spirits, not Gods, with which prove your point.
using Artemis in your Analogy while it looks correct, is presenting information that is not entirely relevant, in this case, greek gods. SO what if the gods are contradictory, we barely understand each other, and if the gods are real they operate on a level we have barely seen let alone scratched the surface of.
6931525 Depending on mythology and language or origin, "spirit" is often either synonymous with "god", or a viable alternate translation. For example, Manitou can variably mean "spirit", "deity", or "mystery" in Algonquian, and Gitche Manitou (generally translated as The Great Spirit) is the creator-god of several Native American tribes. Hell, some forms of Christianity use "spirit" as a synonym for "god", and those forms of Christianity which include the Trinity all have the Holy Spirit as a facet of god.
If you want to compare Discord to a spirit more justifiably distinct from a deity -- something from animism or Shinto, for example -- you're going to need to make your case for that. Discord behaves much more like the gods of classical Western religions than the nature spirits of certain tribal cultures. He's an individual with his own desires and emotions, not directly tied to his domain, and he has a wide range of powers.
6931407 First of all it isn't. In history gods and spirits are both worshiped in religions. So gods are very similar to spirits in the figuratively sense. Though there are some differences between the two it still boils down to they are representations that early humans gave to natural effects and different emotions. So in truth you argument is flawed quite badly. You are the one using forced perspective not Lithl. Including the apples to oranges they are both a fruit so there are similarities but the differences is how you access the "meat" of the fruit. I could go into so much scientific data to prove how similar apples are to oranges but I won't bore you with that.
Definition of spirit: A supernatural being, as: a. An angel or demon. b. A being inhabiting or embodying a particular place, object, or natural phenomenon. c. A fairy or sprite. and The actual though unstated sense or significance of something. (AKA Disharmony)
Gods: (in certain other religions) a superhuman being or spirit worshiped as having power over nature or human fortunes; a deity.
Now about the story: This was a wonderful introduction to some new side characters that will have an impact in this new sequel I like how you characterized Discord as well that was very well done. Also loved the interaction between Twi and Spike. I WANT MOAR SOON! If that is alright with you.
“Discord, the balance between worlds is not your plaything!” Celestia yelled. “Celly, everything is my plaything, you out of everypony should’ve learned that lesson.”
I get the feeling that if discord were to surprise someone, and they broke something magical, he would still be blamed. I would like someone to please explain to me why he always seems to get the short end of the stick?
Mind you, this is nothing against the author. In fact, the characters are perfectly in character, and as such I'm talking about the characters.
Do they really need the mirror? With the power of Discord it could be really easy to return them.
Well, that's not good... but at the very least, the barrier between their worlds destabilizing should make it easier to create a new portal, hopefully stabilizing it in the process. Not sure about the EQG-verse though.
Ahhh. Thursdays are awesome again.

Unknown right now, prob the same though.
Well thats not good
I want to hear the conversation between scot and rainbow
6924882
Yes until the story ends and I will have to invent a new word to describe my feelings of loss
Poor Sunset Shimmer
She can not go home now.
Heh. I'm liking this even better than the first one.
Thus is going to be so much funny!

Darn it Discord! Some things you do not play with! Oh, the headaches to come, but at least the fun level will be high.
So, was there never a human Discord? No mass-murder called Discord? Really, because I find that hard to believe.
This is an AMAZING chapter. It's funny.
“It’s about ten bucks a hit " Or 175.00 an 8 ball LOL
6926071 we gotta hang out lol
6926075 Sounds like a PARTY!!!!
I never understood the Disharmony bit, I mean Chaos and Disharmony and generally mutually exclusive.
THAT'S BEEN MY QUESTION EVER SINCE YOU UNSTONED HIM! Seriously the guys an asshole, why he is still free I don't know. Wait until you read the next chapter lol
that was realy good cant wait for the next chaapter
I have the best boss.
Well that happened. Stupid Discord, like he planned it or something!
Keep going! ;)

let me simplify this, Spirit does not equal God.
Disharmony is a artificial construct forced upon the world by sentient preconception. I believe that the Disharmony bit in his title is him putting on airs to annoy his opponents, usually known as the Elements of Harmony.
Chaos is a force of nature, much like Gravity.
6931357
So what if "spirit" and "god" are not the same thing? I'll repeat: it's called an analogy.
6931399 it's an apples and Oranges analogy.
6931407
You'll have to support that claim. No argument from analogy uses two identical things; it wouldn't be an analogy in that case. In order to dismiss it, you need to explain why one being a spirit and one being a god makes the analogy irrelevant.

I stand by my comment. High five for Discord. And a hug for breaking the mirror so they didn't get sent back right away.
Sometimes you need to upset the balance of the universe to get a little housecleaning done!

I do...but that's only because I've learned that pizza and whiskey do not mix.
