Wait... I got confused for a second. The pony's name was Dawn Song at first, but then changes to Dawn Glow in the italicized section. Did I miss something?
I'm amazed that none of Cadance's spouses ever resented her for her eternal youth. I suppose they came to terms with it early on. It's not like it would come as a surprise...
5815823 Before. Shining Spring was Warding Glow's great-great-granddaughter. Dawn Song was Spring's great-great-grandniece. Cadance seems to be indulging herself every four generations or so.
Well, truth be told the incest factor diminishes by 50% every generation, Shining Spring only shared 6.25% of her genetic material, which means they might as well be very distant cousins, and Dawn Song only .39% if i got my great-greats right, if you're married chances are you share more than that with your spouse if your ancestors come from the same country. At this point she could have children again if she desired with no fear of inbreeding defects, it's mostly the creepiness factor of breeding a line of lovers that is crazy.
well I read this story for the second time because it made a huge impression on me back then...but fact is that more and more I do understand Cadance, because she obviously trully love her partners over the ages... it is just that inability to move on that guides her to this extreme of breeding her own lineage of potentional spouses that is going up on the creepometer. Still In this case I somehow noticed I wanted her to suceed with Twillight, tough I am utter TwiLuna shipper otherwise

Well, that's awkward.

Tsk, tsk, tsk. Get yo shit together, son.
Wait, is this before or after Shining's death? Because last chapter made it sound like Cadance was going after Twilight.
I'm really loving this love-by-generations thing

Before, this is the origin story of that little song and dance routine she teaches Twilight.

This is a flashback.

This is why I cannot ship Celestia or Luna.
Liking this story—it's incestuously creepy and I've needed to feel disturbed for a while now.

5816916 I was not aware of this. Will keep in mind when I become immortal and try to breed with my kin.
This is really creepy.
I mean really? You seriously are that hung up on him?
You need a refreshing do in the genepool. Mate with griffon or a zebra. Something.
5815992 Also, it doesn't help that 'Shining' and 'Twilight' seem to be acting like surnames rather than given ones...
well
