Having been blindsided by Rarity's possible survival, Rainbow and Twilight wonder how to best track their former friend down, while Applejack tries her best to help Fluttershy through a chapter of her life she thought she had closed.
Please let her do this Luna. Rarity may have been a bitch but she's truly trying to fix things right now. She wants it all in the past as well but this isn't how she wants to do it. The only true way to do this is for her to finally confront her friends and let them ultimately decide her true fate.
okay now that is itneresting. in her coma she dreamed of being trapped and isolated in her own dungeon. seems to indicate that she subconciously wanted punishment for what happened if you ask me. with all that happened coming back to her, now she seeks to either set things right or face judgement for what she had done. she was able to view herself objectively and saw what she had done.
..........the only problem i have with the story is that the sentences often stand alone and not indicate theri reactions to what they are saying. likee her setting herself in a chair or them continuing to talk as she cleaned up her own vomit.
4567200 she was able to view herself from the outside basically. she could experience whta she did without the the depraved filter she had before. besides it seems she subconciously realized she had done wrong. she describes remembering being trapped in her own dungeon for who knows how long, isolated and alone.
i have a funny feeling that this ending will be extremely polarizing between people who want them all back together again and people who want rarity to pay for what she did.
Me, i am in the latter.
even if Rainbow could forgive what happened to her, Forgiveness for what occurred to Fluttershy is a whole different story. (not to mention, could you ever put your trust in someone like that again?)
I can't imagine a scenario were she could ever welcome Rarity back... Some things, once done, can never be undone, forgotten, or forgiven.
I couldn't imagine seeing someone like that every day in town (I doubt the townsfolk would be very accepting either). Even after years had passed i would want to kill them every time I saw them. It was a different story when she didn't know what she did and wasn't constantly around to remind them... but now? I... I am at a loss for words...
4567167 Uhh, this line right at the end of the first bit-
Twilight mumbled as the three of them went to the door. Twilight pulled the door open, and gasped as she laid eyes on the white unicorn that she last saw bleeding on this very floor.
Rarity shivered, lips trembling, and before anypony could say anything, she took in a deep breath and collapsed to the ground in uncontrollable sobs.
"I was down in that basement for so long... I lost track of time. I never got hungry, never got tired, and then... Rainbow showed up... And gave me exactly what I deserved."
The "game me exactly what I deserved" part is referring to when Rainbow mutilated her and she woke up from her coma.
"...They have to know how and why everything happened. Your majesty, when you were banished for one thousand years, were there no ponies... No friends that you hurt that you regret not being able to make reparations with?"
Extra space here.
Rarity regaining her memory and becoming good does not sit well with me. Amnesia, and psychosis, do not work that way. Amnesia may make a person change who they are while influenced by it. However once they regain their memory they do not become a new person. A person better or worse than they were before. Well, maybe on the surface.
Rarity "was" (read: is) a sociopath. A sociopath does not stop being a sociopath. A sociopath with amnesia, is still a sociopath, however they forgot they were. Sociopathy may be one of the few personalty disorders that could be temporarily paved over by amnesia. As long as the amnesiac is not informed or tempted, their sociopathy could be controlled. Once their memories come back, they do not have an epiphany and realize that being a sociopath was wrong. If anything, I would be pissed to find out that I was being deceived about my true nature.
Sociopaths are experts in pretending they have empathy. Rarity being there with them could spell trouble for Twilight and Rainbow Dash. Hopefully they have the wherewithal to tie her up and put a magic dampener on her horn. (I know they have them.)
Personally, if I found the person who tortured me collapsed outside my door, I would freak out. Then I would lock my doors and windows and call the cops. Then I would get a weapon to defend myself.
I am not sure how I feel. I want Rarity to get her revenge. I want her to get her comeuppance. I want her to truly feel remorse and shame. I want Rainbow Dash to be the better mare and truly forgive Rarity. I want the ending to be ambiguous, hinting at another sequel. However, I do not want a happy ending, there are too many of those. I look forward to the next update.

why the fuck is she begging the princess to let her go? the princess can't stop her from going! or at least, it would be a gross misuse of her power if she did.
Cause she is a criminal. I don't buy the statue of limitations thing... she was in a coma. She can't be tried while in a coma so her clock wouldn't start running until she woke up. Also Luna is a princess. if she says no, not to many ponies could overrule her.
4568576 As far as they were concerned Rarity was dead (Charity took her place)
The bitch is back now...
"Yes, she is no longer considered to be in critical condition." "Then I believe we can proceed with prosecution." This statement made Luna hesitate in her response. "Sister... Do you believe that to be the best choice?" "What other choice is there?" "She has no idea what she has done, or who she is. The dilemma here is whether to punish the body or the mind. In a sense, the pony who committed those crimes is gone."
Statue of Limitations is how long a person/pony can be charged with a crime... You flee the country go into hiding or for whatever reason (medical coma) can't be changed at that time, Your clock stops, to start up again when you can be changed.
A SoL of a year for such a crime is already a little unrealistic...
Especially in Equestria, where I imagine such a crime would rock the nation for years.
4568373 Neko... there are a few problems with your diagnosis.
1. Sociopaths are incapable of experiencing guilt or shame for their actions. They rarely apologize for their behavior, and are unaware of the emotional, physical, and financial repercussions of their actions. As a result, they betray, threaten, and harm those around them without feeling any type of remorse.
Rarity has, both in canon, and in this story, shown remorse for her actions.
2. Sociopaths are rarely shy, insecure, or at a loss for words. They have trouble suppressing emotional responses like anger, impatience, or annoyance, and constantly lash out at others and respond hastily to these emotions.
Rarity has shown herself to be EXTREMELY insecure on so many occasions.
I think her actions are more indicative of delusional behavior than actually sociopathy. The start of this story was Rarity acting in what she felt was Fluttershy's interest, taking Dash down a peg or three because she was hurting her friends. Yes, things got progressively more insane, but throughout she had genuine feelings. Granted those were often expressed in a sick and twisted nature but she always felt she was doing the right thing for the ponies she loved.
It can be difficult to distinguish just how somepony is insane. But we can rule out that, at least.
8905653 Finally got caught up on your comments. Hope you're enjoying!
It'd honestly be nice to have a few more readers for Extradition, the latest story that both looks back on Rainbow's exile, and the next steps she and Twilight take in their relationship.

4567152 think she already did considering how the cvhapter began.
4567154 I might have missed a detail so would you care to explain? I don't mean to sound sarcastic because I'm really confused.
NOW we can toss her in jail
Literally >

...Someone doesn't just get over insanity by having their mind wiped and then completely restored with the new memories added.
So I'm guessing she was being manipulated somehow. Her mind was, at least. Probably.
4567200 she was able to view herself from the outside basically. she could experience whta she did without the the depraved filter she had before.

OMC! Great chapter. I can't wait to see what happens next.
4567167 ........the beginning of the chapter had rarity showing up and collapsing onto the floor of twi's library.
4567341 Just reread it.... I was in too much of a hurry to read that part so I did miss it.
4567250 That was describing what was happening during her coma. At least that's what I think the author meant.
4567384 ummm dude, there is a scene depicting rainbow dash and twilight talking and then finding rarity at the front door.
Me likey!

4567745 I was in a rush okay.
4567398 Different scene. Entirely.

That was great, damn it!

Shit... i didn't even think about that...
This can go VERY bad...
why the fuck is she begging the princess to let her go? the princess can't stop her from going! or at least, it would be a gross misuse of her power if she did.
4568503
Nice picture!
Cause she is a criminal.

4568533 but i thought she was let off the hook like the others?
Why must we wait so long for these awesome updates! WHY!
4568503 Luna seems to enjoy misusing her power for her beliefs.
4568608 unnervingly so.

4568603 This story actually updates pretty quick. Some take months.
Everyone else be saying useful stuff. I'm just like "OMG SO EXCITED"
4569022
4569025 You have no idea how well you have just summed me up!!
4569039 I have a pretty good idea.
But seriously, any organized thoughts, shoot me a message, or go into my latest blog.
4569047 I will if my thoughts become logical. I can't see that happening well.
Rarity should turn out to be like a wizard and then she explodes.

it will be hard to say sorry
Here it comes...let’s see how things go in the next chapter....
