Having been blindsided by Rarity's possible survival, Rainbow and Twilight wonder how to best track their former friend down, while Applejack tries her best to help Fluttershy through a chapter of her life she thought she had closed.
lot of uncertainty what to do here. and the good kind too. here we have someone desperate to make some kind of amends for what she has done to her loved ones. and not a soul knows what can be done.
am i the only one wondering if that detective guy from the first story is gonna try something? because he seemed pretty dead set on getting the lot of them locked up in jail.
4570886 More like a shit-storm of Biblical proportions!
4571142 If you're talking about that jerk Swiften Just (I think his name was), he was a Special Prosecutor, not just a regular investigator.
But yes, he was hell-bent on doing that.
To the point that he had an apoplectic fit, and Mayor Mare had to calm him down from when the Princesses said that Rainbow wasn't pressingh charges on them.
It's also why he went after her (not legally; I doubt that would've gotten very far with said Princesses) when she went to Canterlot to talk to Celestia and Luna in Chapter 13: Exasperation of the original MDW: Fractured Elements.
For the record, I still don't like that jerk, even if he hasn't been in any of the sequel, except just by mention here and there (I think).
I'm off the opinion that, if they're all willing to forgive Nightmare Moon who wanted to mass-murder every living thing on the planet, giving Rarity at the very least a chance should be peanuts. Rainbow Dash honestly can't use the argument against Celestia of "You forgave Luna", and then not extend the same courtesy to Rarity, that would be hypocritical. Yeah, Rarity did something horrendous. Luna did worse, Equestria welcomed her back with open arms. If this ends up with Rarity being somehow murdered or forever shunned, I shall be disappoint.
We don't know how long the moon was in the sky before Celestia confronted Luna about it. If we were to take it literally, her coup lasted all of 3 minutes.
She tried, rather than just wanted it. The wording on that is important.
Also, that bit about Luna being welcomed back is lacking certain details. A) She spent a thousand years imprisoned and B) She had large portions of her mind and personality reconfigured by the Elements of Harmony, ripping out portions of who and what she was and leaving the tattered remains to deal with the consequences
Luna was punished and is still being punished. Rarity was given a 'get out of jail' free card in regards to both what she did to her friends and family(whatever happened to Sweetie Belle?) and in regards to ever having to feel guilty about what she did. She screwed it up, but it was still given to her.
As such, Rarity and Luna-2's situations are hard to compare. Luna-1 was punished twice, both times in a frankly horrifying manner and whats left of her is still dealing with the consequences left behind by Luna-1. Rarity has to endure any real punishment, perform any true restitution or go through any actual rehabilitation.
At the very, very, very least, she should be remanded to the custody of a Mental Health Facility and treated(I call bullshit on it just being a one off power trip). My preference would be to see her hang herself, given that she tore up her 'can play relatively nicely with others' card, burnt the shreds and then pissed on the ashes.
I would kinda like to see Rarity get pulled aside by Applejack before she gets to see Fluttershy, and the two of them to have a calm and rational conversation, only for Applejack to throw in something like "oh by the way, if you ever hurt her again I will fucking end you." at the end of their conversation. I know it probably will not happen, but if feels like something Applejack would do.
I disagree with the whole should hang herself bit. Since she told Luna that she was locked away inside her head for along time. It's safe to assume that she was locked when whatever it was that was wearing a nice Rarity suit had her do those atrocities. Similar to how in the Cupcake Chronicles [same author], Pinkie wrote in her diary that she was locked up inside her head and nopony noticed a thing.
It's safe to assume that she was locked when whatever it was that was wearing a nice Rarity suit had her do those atrocities.
That's quite the (dangerous) assumption when she admits to the power-trip
also, if she did it once, she could/would do it again.
She may 'feel-bad' now, but she didn't when she did it, and in the future?
I am actually leading toward the sociopath thought…
they are EXPERTS at faking how they feel, any previous (cannon) remorse Rarity felt, could simply be explained by her faking it. Her 'remorse' she feels now, would simply be the result of her mind thinking its the best idea for her now, if she was forgiven and enough time passed, there is no doubt she would do it again.
This also explains her treatment of Spike, she does abuse him more then the others (because she can get away with it)
But in the last chapter she states that she was in that Basement for a long time when talking to Luna. And in this chapter and last one it was Twilight nearly bludgeoning her to death, and Dashie's dream murder that brought her back to her senses.
So where does the Power Trip begin, and the being dragged along for the ride begin? Similar to where does Luna's jealousy start and Nightmare Moon's powergrab for Equestria begin? And while she did get off on it, its something that now that she's back to being the Rarity they all knew and loved (at one point and time) is physically sickened by what she did. To the point of physical pain.
That's not something that a sociopath or a psychopath would feel. Nor is it something that fit in her norm / baseline psychology. So there must be something more to it then just "Oh yeah! Let me own ya B****!". Although I do agree that with ponies simply looking at things at face value that the thing behind Rares going psycho is going to happen again more than likely. Although I wonder if a blast of friendship to the face will help her?
Edit:
Her POV stated that she was feeling physical pain from the heart ache. As well as her own POV that she was sickened by her actions. As for Spike yeah she does. But then so does Twilight, like all the time child abuse.
"It... It was intoxicating. Having power over Fluttershy like that... I can't even describe the high that I got from it. I just wanted more, and more... It was never enough, there was no satisfying that hunger. I know now that something was wrong... very wrong up here," Rarity explained, putting a hoof to her head. "It had to have been, for me to come after her like some predator and threaten Twilight with a similar fate. But when she fought back... The head injuries she gave me... That must have knocked something back into place, because I'm sickened that I even considered any of it."
It begun when she got into a relationship with Fluttershy (a natural sub.) She experienced what its like to have power over another living pony and got off on it.
Again Sociopaths are EXPERTS at faking it (even faking physical pain). You could know one now and never know. they act just like normal people until they finally do something to draw attention to themselves.
It's only natural her mind would realize she was caught and go to such extreme lengths to convince everyone that the hit 'knocked something back into place' (bullshit, hits to the head do not change your thought process-unless they make you retarded). It would be a natural defense mecihinsum for a sociopath, so much so that they would actually believe it themselves.
Also I doubt the elements can be used on their own owners… IF they could, that might actually work. (they are kinda dues-ex-macha) they would either fix her, turn her to stone, or banish her to the moon… I am good with any of the above.
But then so does Twilight
Twilight's is tempered by the obvious affection she has for him (Anyone who has a sister can vouch that this is normal behavior)
"You... You brought me here. You were going to let me get away with this. Why?"
"Your mind was gone."
"Ignorance is no excuse."
"I didn't believe it would be right, to imprison you when you remembered nothing about your crime or your identity, especially when Rainbow strove to forgive those who did remember." Rarity's eyes widened.
"Rainbow... She forgave them for what we did?"
"Somehow."
The unicorn let out an exasperated sigh.
"Oh thank goodness..."
Luna eyed Rarity carefully."You seem awfully... Remorseful. I wonder what knocked your sense back into you."
Rarity thought back, shuddering at the sickening deeds she had committed. "Twilight... When Twilight protected Fluttershy from me. I don't understand why she didn't kill me..."
"According to her statement, the Fire Ruby she was attacking you with rebounded off your horn. and struck hers. With how much magic was coursing through it, it was enough to knock her unconscious."
"I was down in that basement for so long... I lost track of time. I never got hungry, never got tired, and then... Rainbow showed up... And gave me exactly what I deserved."
The first thing she did after fainting and vomiting simultaneously was tell Luna off for not giving her the ax. And as I stated said she was locked in that basement for a long time. Again we don't know if that locking away was started by the Power Trip, something else, or what.
As for a Sociopath. Trust me I know all about them and their neurology (Actually with an MRI their frontal lobes are much less active with a higher output in the amygdala [sp?] area. But let me point these parts out.
Part 1:
The white unicorn awoke with a gasp, nearly inhaling some of the puddle of vomit that she had passed out in. She leaned up, taking deep breaths, and put a hoof to her neck, feeling the golden necklace strapped around it.
The moment it had latched around her neck, it had all come back in a flash. The first date, the first try at bondage, the safe word, the lack of a safe word, the abuse, Rainbow's broken promises, and finally, the plan. It was such a shock that she threw up and passed out at the same time. She let out such a blood-curdling scream while the memories returned that Luna had to quickly cast a sound barrier around the apartment.
That's her POV. A sociopath would fake. She on the other hand was traumatized by the memories that it invoked a physical response that she didn't fake. Then of course she screams and throws up even more throughout the chapter.
In this chapter:
Rainbow failed to keep it together, but had asked the questions that had been burning in everypony's mind. Seeing this made Rarity's waterworks continue as well. She swallowed, and took another drink of tea to do her best to try and soothe her throat. The emotional pain had become so severe that it had crossed into physical hurt. It had been this way all the way down here on the train from Manehattan, and it was now getting worse. She winced as her heart ached.
Again her POV. Not the faking of a sociopath. Since it was felt and transcribed as her own interpretations of her emotions as well as how she feels personally.
So no not a sociopath. Trust me when I say that it's with proof to back it up. Now if none of the last two chapters covered how she felt, or how events effected her personally. Then yes Sociopathy would be a probability. And faking it would be a possibility. But not when we see her POV / mental state (as interpreted by Rarity).
As for Spike. I have a brother but I've never:
- Forced him to work a full time, adult level job. While keeping him out of school.
- Used him for slave labor. Since he gets paid in gems (which he needs for sustainance), has a dog bed that he sleeps in, and is worked to the point of near / not so near personal injury (carpal tunnel counts as personal injury).
- Didn't give him a real education / kept him out of school, while making him do what ever I wanted on a whim.
Twilight really isn't that tempered. Yes she never stabbed him with needles, but upon seeing that he was used for that didn't stop it from happening, nor did she step in on his behalf. As for him being used for manual / physical labor. That's what he does for Twilight all the time, at least Rarity gave him things occassionally as well as praise.
but unless you buy that a 'hit to the head' can change your thought process (again Bullshit) the greatest way to lie is to say you want the opposite. "You should have killed me" 'now I look more remorseful' -not a big risk, luna is not the type-
none of that explains her behavior before. (Unless she is lying to everyone-inculding herself)
your a nicer sister then mine, besides some of that can be explained by the differences in cultures (Spike might be too young for school/not quilifty for pony school) also, he is shown eating non-gems. indicating that he does not need them to live. but that they are a delicacy
I'm not. I'm just saying were talking about a world with mind-rape spells, evil spirits that can possess ponies, magic, and The Nightmare exist in. I'm more in tuned to believe that something fed upon her Power Trip, and used her body as a meat puppet while her psyche was riding the wave of pleasure it was subtly feeding her.
With the whole basement thing, I'm more inclined to think it was something similar to what happened to Pinkie Pie in The Cupcake Chronicles, or The Nightmare (or an entity like that). I mean Luna with her love of life wouldn't normally go out and cause mass death / murder, but then you get Nightmare Moon who was more than happy to do that.
So if something can effect Luna like that turning her into something that's aware of everything, but along for the ride. Then why not Rarity whose showing similar mental switches?
Just remember. We're talking about magical talking ponies where evil magical things exist. The physical explanation isn't always the correct explanation.
the simplest solution is more often then not the correct one.
1. Something took her over, fed on her natural impulses and slowly corrupted her without being noticed by the four alicorns that she is around all the time?
2. the bitch is crazy…
I never read the cupcake chronicles so I don't understand that reference.
Whey do people compare NMM to Rarity? these are 2 completely different events. Also, NMM was stopped before she did anything and was locked into the moon for a 1000 years because of it. Rarity DID it. then spent a year locked into her own head. Apples and Oranges IMHO
Not saying it couldn't have been something possessing her, but the evidence for that 'so far' is really lacking. It's a theory to keep on the table but not something I would consider without knowing more.
and those who want forgiveness… Again i must point out Guilda - she was a jerk and Rainbow told her to get lost
Rarity raped Rainbow and Fluttershy (her oldest friend)… If Guilda doesn't get a do-over despite Rainbow knowing her for a lot longer then she knew Rarity, why would Rarity get that forgiveness?? Her offense is a MAGNITUDE worse then Guidla's even if she is 'sorry' for it.
edit: I bring this up not to compare what they did, but to show that Rainbow's Loyalty is not BLIND. she is only loyal to you if you deserve it. As for Rarty's 'remorce'… Talk is cheap, (there is every chance she is lying (even to herself))
I'd read that fic. (It's in the story bar by this one. Well worth the read). And yeah it could be she was temporarily crazy, that doesn't make her a psychopath though. As for the comparison between NMM and Rares. Well:
Luna: Militant about protecting life; Element of Laughter, Loyalty and Honesty; Loves her sister.
NMM: Plunged the world into Darkness where lives would've been lost (no sun = eventual death of everything. Somethings faster than others. Plus massive increase of suicides.); Attacked her sister full force and was intent of putting her out of the way one way or another so that ponies would love her night.
the you have:
Rarity: Element of Generosity; Honestly cares about those around her (even if she can loose sight of that temporarily she eventually comes around and seeks forgiveness); Is protective of those she cares about; A loving, if not somewhat oblivious mare.
WTF! Rares: Rapes, tortures, and mind rapes everyone around her; Uses a mind control spell to dominate her friends; Has no problem ending anyone who gets in her way.
So with that huge switch of personalities / priorities. It's kind of simple. Anyways. I just want to say:
Rares isn't a Sociopath. That's all.
Oh! And we'll see what we'll see. Seriously loving this series.
Comics not cannon. I spit on the name of all artists and writers who make them. As for hit on head resets. I never said that, I even said that her current state of wanting to get things back in order was temporary. As for subtle. You did read this chapter right? Her mind rape spell was the very definition of subtle. So subtle is possible.
Anywho I'm going to bed. This convo was interesting, good night.
4573060 Sorry you feel that way about the comics (I don't normally like comics but these are really good)
So I gather the leading theories (in no particular order) are: 1. Something possessed her and caused her to do it (while avoiding detection) confirmed not true by writer 2. She is a crazy bitch (who believes her own lie) 3. A 'blow to the head' fixed someone's thought process (temporarily) -We both call BS on this being permanent-
All three two require a leap in logic (more evidence)
Possible fixes: 1. Jail (Again, the SoL wouldn't apply if she was in a coma) 2. Suicide (this would be a shame, no pony would be happy about this outcome -although it would be believable) 3. Blast from the element cannon (if possible) 4. Discord (who knows what he can do) 5. It's somehow legit (permanent) and they all forgive her (the blow to the head worked… BS fan-pandering IMHO) 6. One of them KILL her. (again a shame, but VERY believable. Looking at AJ and Discord who both love Fluttershy, Twilight who already tried to kill her once, and Rainbow who might snap and lose it. Hell, even Pinkie, who is CRAZY at the best of times.) 7. They find out it was something else that caused her to act that way and drive it out (IMHO no real evidence for this yet, although I could go with it if they find some later) confirmed not true by writer 8. …
That's all i can think of, keep in mind I said 'fixes' not outcomes. A lot can happen that will NOT fix/end the situation.
I'd read that fic
I'm not an applejack fan so I avoid fics that star her… personal preference...
Even if the 'blow to the head' truly fixed it (BS), could you really trust someone, knowing that if they get hit the the head again they might turn back into a rapist?
4573338 Don't get me wrong, I'm glad readers are forming their own conclusions. I'm hoping they do it after the story ends.
There was nothing else in Rarity's head.
If that's what some are expecting, sorry. I can't please everyone, and while I don't mean to lower expectations, the last thing I want this to be is a cookie cutter carbon copy of the Cupcake Chronicles.
Yeah, you're probably right. I might be a little more jaded then most (comes with age. When you see enough shit IRL your view changes. I envy those with a more optimistic viewpoint ).
When i put myself in that situation (taking into account everything that happened and who they are) I couldn't stomach looking at her, much less doing ANYTHING for her.
yeah they were friends, but that ship has sailed.
right now, they should be 100% focused on damage control. and IMHO forgiveness for her or no, that is a life without Rarity in it.
But whatever is going to happen. its out of my hands. I will sit back and enjoy the ride and hopefully not rage quit at the ending. /sarcasm
One thing I forgot to mention in my previous post is that I would really hate it if Rarity was faking all this and hadn't changed at all. That would, honestly, feel like a total cop-out for me. What I like about your stories is that they try to piece back together the warmth and friendship of the series after another story made them to completely out-of-character things. That's what made Cupcake Chronicles so good and why I'm enjoying this despite the powerplay/BDSM elements (which isn't my cup of tea). Having Rarity just fake it and still be the same would be such a disappointment.
it's your fault, this is so damn interesting that I can't think about anything else. really, I try to write the next chapter of my story and I keep thinking about what's really going on with Rarity.
Second this. And yeah, the comics can eat lava. But yeah I don't agree to your fixes.
1) Took long to go to jail (past statue of limitations). If it comes down to it Luna will carry out vengeance.
2) Luna's watching her like a hawk and if she prevented Dashie from killing herself, then she's more than likely going to be stopping Rares from the same. ("A you made your bed now sleep in it" scenario).
3) Don't see the others as being successful in killing her with Luna breathing down her neck like a bad STD.
What TwiDash said. This fic is just raw epicness, and I'm glad this is going to be its own unique thing. I'm eager to see how this goes, and I'm sorry if things got out of hoof.
4574347 Those were possible fixes (just the ones I could think of) not saying thats what would happen.
THe staute of limitations WOULD NOT APPLY, she was in a coma. you can't charge someone with a crime while in a coma. (her clock would have stopped until she woke up and could be charged)
If they do apply (WTF?) they were going to let her off anyway. Had Rainbow wanted to press charges, Rarity would have walked away scott free. (as charity) if she then later regained her memories, it would have been too late to charge her. Luna took the law into her own hooves once, why would she be shy about doing it again? 4573789 for it to be real a blow to the head would have to be able to change the way someone thinks
doesn't pass the smell test (smells like BS)
also if it is real (permanent), what happens next time she gets hit on the head?
if one blow can cause her to lose her sadistic tendencies, another could just as easily cause her to regain them (and in a town with derby in it that is a BIG threat)
Don't get me wrong, I want a happy ending too, but more then that I want a realistic ending. Someone hitting u on the head and you forever not liking cream cheese anymore is totally unrealistic (as an example)
Maybe suicide would be too far, but I'm keeping it on the list of 'Fates for Rarity that I would find personally satisfying' for now.
Anyhoo. The closest to being locked away inside her own head was when she was in a coma or when she specified that Charity was still with her. So bzzzt. Additionally, she already confessed that she was doing it because she enjoyed it and the author confirmed she wasn't possessed.
Baring some sudden, M. Night Shamalalaladingdong plot twist, it's practically a given that it was 100% pure Rarity, who.. you know, using terms from BDSM feels insulting to those who enjoy it responsibly and sanely.. The euphoria she experienced woke already existent mental instabilities that'd been dormant until then.
At the very least she needs serious therapy in a safe and secure environment. And to make restitution for all the destruction she caused. How she could possibly manage that baring time travel is a puzzle. There are some crimes that carry a karmic debt beyond what you can possibly repay in a dozen lifetimes.
And has it been mentioned what happened to Sweetie Belle? How she took the entire thing with her sister?
4574878 I think sweetie was mentioned before, but it has been a WHILE…
I agree, she needs therapy and to be the hell away from those who lives she ruined. I have never heard of a single rape victim that can function normally being around their rapist. (or seeing them at all) without a FLOOD of memories coming back. Her presence would do more harm then any about of apologizing could ever make up for.
Honestly, its somewhat selfish for her not to realize this and still want 'her' to feel better, rather then do whats best for her victims.
Nothing about Sweetie Belle in four fics. I've been wondering the same thing. And I agree with the last paragraph, she does need some serious help in a safe / secure environment. Although I'm waiting for the other horseshoe to drop. But yeah I don't think she'll ever fully make full restorations in her lifetime. Thankfully I follow the line of reincarnation thought that states that humans / ponies reincarnate to other humans / ponies and can't reincarnate into lower lifeforms. So hopefully she'll reincarnate into a cripple, or a crippled hobo and makes it up that way.
Earlier fics, and this fic stated that the statue of limitations is up. She can't be tried for her crimes. Whatever happens is in the hooves of the ponies she hurt or Luna via vigilante justice.
4574861 I never mentioned the blow to the head. For all we know it wasn't that, but the mental shock of waking up that did it. Either way, I don't care what caused it, as long as Rarity's not faking it.
In a land of magic, that is one easy ass way to avoid paying for a crime
"Just robbed a bank, let me put myself into a magic coma that I can disguise as a medical one for a year"
one year latter. "too late, can't be charged."
Like I said, Luna was going to let her off anyway had Rainbow wanted to press charges (as charity) She can't now hide behind the law that she was going to ignore anyway.
And you nailed something that was riling me up. Her showing up there, in every way, seems to be about her feeling better rather than helping her victims(and given that she was mind controlling the other four, they're all her victims).
Even remembering what she did, she's still being a selfish little monster.
I do hope the fact that she was manipulating the emotions of the others gets out (particularly to Celestia). I also want to see how Ponyville reacts to having known torturer and rapist wandering around the streets.
Ah shit...I sense a storm on the horizon.
Hey this is great news for the others. (Their story checks out)
Now for Rarity...
Won't lie... Little disappointed in the direction this appears to be going, a return to the status que.
But hey, it's not my story. (Still a good read)
4570959 Wait and see.
4570985 hey you have done an awesome job so far, I have no reason to not trust you.
Side note: (I am sure you already know this)
This can't be just Rainbow's desions though. Rarity wrong all of them. None more so then Fluttershy.

Her POV stated that she was feeling physical pain from the heart ache. As well as her own POV that she was sickened by her actions. As for Spike yeah she does. But then so does Twilight, like all the time child abuse.
4572695
Twilight's is tempered by the obvious affection she has for him (Anyone who has a sister can vouch that this is normal behavior)
4571500
Side question.
What will Discord think about Rarity returning and 'talking' to Fluttershy?
I still can't believe Twilight would do her any favors.
"Hey sorry i ruined your life, but can you do me a favor?"
fuck no.
4572709
The first thing she did after fainting and vomiting simultaneously was tell Luna off for not giving her the ax. And as I stated said she was locked in that basement for a long time. Again we don't know if that locking away was started by the Power Trip, something else, or what.
As for a Sociopath. Trust me I know all about them and their neurology (Actually with an MRI their frontal lobes are much less active with a higher output in the amygdala [sp?] area. But let me point these parts out.
Part 1:
That's her POV. A sociopath would fake. She on the other hand was traumatized by the memories that it invoked a physical response that she didn't fake. Then of course she screams and throws up even more throughout the chapter.
In this chapter:
4572868
but unless you buy that a 'hit to the head' can change your thought process (again Bullshit) the greatest way to lie is to say you want the opposite.
4572880
4572915
I'm more inclined to believe Ocums Razor
the simplest solution is more often then not the correct one.
Her offense is a MAGNITUDE worse then Guidla's even if she is 'sorry' for it.
edit:
I bring this up not to compare what they did, but to show that Rainbow's Loyalty is not BLIND. she is only loyal to you if you deserve it. As for Rarty's 'remorce'… Talk is cheap, (there is every chance she is lying (even to herself))
4572965
4573007
Have you read the comic?
Nightmare Rarity. (the nightmare is conformed to be a presence that takes over a pony's mind and body.)
this one (IF it is one) would have to be incredibly subtle to not be noticed before now. (again no real evidence yet)
Aa you said, NMM attempted to plunge the world into darkness. (ATTEMPTED)
Rarity RAPED her closest friends.
one tried (for 3 minutes) to do something, and was stopped
one DID something
That makes a big difference. (hence apples and oranges not a real comparison)
The evidence still points to crazy bitch (even if not a sociopath SOMETHING is wrong up there)
and no a 'blow to the head' would not fix it. If it's not a presence, it's still wrong.
4573035
Comics not cannon. I spit on the name of all artists and writers who make them. As for hit on head resets. I never said that, I even said that her current state of wanting to get things back in order was temporary. As for subtle. You did read this chapter right? Her mind rape spell was the very definition of subtle. So subtle is possible.
Anywho I'm going to bed. This convo was interesting, good night.
4573060
Sorry you feel that way about the comics (I don't normally like comics but these are really good)
So I gather the leading theories (in no particular order) are:
1.
Something possessed her and caused her to do it (while avoiding detection)confirmed not true by writer2. She is a crazy bitch (who believes her own lie)
3. A 'blow to the head' fixed someone's thought process (temporarily) -We both call BS on this being permanent-
All
threetwo require a leap in logic (more evidence)Possible fixes:
1. Jail (Again, the SoL wouldn't apply if she was in a coma)
2. Suicide (this would be a shame, no pony would be happy about this outcome -although it would be believable)
3. Blast from the element cannon (if possible)
4. Discord (who knows what he can do)
5. It's somehow legit (permanent) and they all forgive her (the blow to the head worked… BS fan-pandering IMHO)
6. One of them KILL her. (again a shame, but VERY believable. Looking at AJ and Discord who both love Fluttershy, Twilight who already tried to kill her once, and Rainbow who might snap and lose it. Hell, even Pinkie, who is CRAZY at the best of times.)
7.
They find out it was something else that caused her to act that way and drive it out (IMHO no real evidence for this yet, although I could go with it if they find some later)confirmed not true by writer8. …
That's all i can think of, keep in mind I said 'fixes' not outcomes. A lot can happen that will NOT fix/end the situation.
I'm not an applejack fan so I avoid fics that star her… personal preference...
4572915
4572965
Okay, time freaking out. Even I'm getting lost because the readers are looking more deeply into it than the author.
"Down in the basement for so long."
I am referring to the coma. Nothing more.
4573193
it's your fault, this is so damn interesting that I can't think about anything else.
really, I try to write the next chapter of my story and I keep thinking about what's really going on with Rarity.
4573360
thanks for the confirmation.
BTW did you get my PM?
damn… ambiguous endings...
4573379 Yes. I am reading and considering everything.
And asking to see Fluttershy was not an outright favor, fyi.
4573395
given… still really inappropriate given the situation.
4573399 Not at all. She wants to personally apologize to everyone.
4573414
/sarcasm
Golly gosh this is getting... Uh well it already got good and interesting, oh right this is starting to become AMAZING
4573204
Second this. And yeah, the comics can eat lava. But yeah I don't agree to your fixes.
1) Took long to go to jail (past statue of limitations). If it comes down to it Luna will carry out vengeance.
2) Luna's watching her like a hawk and if she prevented Dashie from killing herself, then she's more than likely going to be stopping Rares from the same. ("A you made your bed now sleep in it" scenario).
3) Don't see the others as being successful in killing her with Luna breathing down her neck like a bad STD.
4) Don't think it's permanent.
_____________________
But how about we'll just put it down as we'll see what we'll see.
4573193
What TwiDash said. This fic is just raw epicness, and I'm glad this is going to be its own unique thing. I'm eager to see how this goes, and I'm sorry if things got out of hoof.
4574347
Those were possible fixes (just the ones I could think of) not saying thats what would happen.
4573789
for it to be real a blow to the head would have to be able to change the way someone thinks
doesn't pass the smell test (smells like BS)
also if it is real (permanent), what happens next time she gets hit on the head?
if one blow can cause her to lose her sadistic tendencies, another could just as easily cause her to regain them (and in a town with derby in it that is a BIG threat)
Don't get me wrong, I want a happy ending too, but more then that I want a realistic ending. Someone hitting u on the head and you forever not liking cream cheese anymore is totally unrealistic (as an example)
4572555
4574878
I think sweetie was mentioned before, but it has been a WHILE…
I agree, she needs therapy and to be the hell away from those who lives she ruined.
4574878
Nothing about Sweetie Belle in four fics. I've been wondering the same thing. And I agree with the last paragraph, she does need some serious help in a safe / secure environment. Although I'm waiting for the other horseshoe to drop. But yeah I don't think she'll ever fully make full restorations in her lifetime. Thankfully I follow the line of reincarnation thought that states that humans / ponies reincarnate to other humans / ponies and can't reincarnate into lower lifeforms. So hopefully she'll reincarnate into a cripple, or a crippled hobo and makes it up that way.
4574861
Earlier fics, and this fic stated that the statue of limitations is up. She can't be tried for her crimes. Whatever happens is in the hooves of the ponies she hurt or Luna via vigilante justice.
4574861
I never mentioned the blow to the head. For all we know it wasn't that, but the mental shock of waking up that did it. Either way, I don't care what caused it, as long as Rarity's not faking it.
4574906
In a land of magic, that is one easy ass way to avoid paying for a crime
"Just robbed a bank, let me put myself into a magic coma that I can disguise as a medical one for a year"
one year latter. "too late, can't be charged."
Like I said, Luna was going to let her off anyway had Rainbow wanted to press charges (as charity) She can't now hide behind the law that she was going to ignore anyway.
4574920
You didn't she did.
looks like BS, smells like BS...
4574894
And you nailed something that was riling me up. Her showing up there, in every way, seems to be about her feeling better rather than helping her victims(and given that she was mind controlling the other four, they're all her victims).
Even remembering what she did, she's still being a selfish little monster.
I do hope the fact that she was manipulating the emotions of the others gets out (particularly to Celestia). I also want to see how Ponyville reacts to having known torturer and rapist wandering around the streets.
4574930
Read the quote again. Rarity didn't say it did it, she merely suspects that's what did it. She's not sure.
