Yes indeed, a question that keeps bugging me too Peter.
That aside a highly enjoyable chapter.^^b
Hey hey, you got featured. Good job.
Romantic...pursuits?
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
4636865 HE WANTS YOUR SWEET GAM GAMS.
Oh? Could she be referring to a certain young dragon? A shame if that were so.
And she definitely needs to stop reading those scifi erotic novels, honestly that mare needs to get her mind out of the gutter
4637030 The gam gam thing made me think of this \/

You are a horrible person and should be proud of yourself for your ability to inflict mental trauma on others.
Nice chapter. Enjoyed the conversation.
A few minor mistakes :

What's peter writing in his notebook with ? he's incredibly verbose for ink and quill , especially after presumably writing for a long time in his talk to rarity
seems a really weird long winded way to start a written note.
I liked rarities freak out, and her initial denial was fun. But her quick turnabout and acceptance where too fast for me , kick that freaky alien out of your business; humans are dangerous after all.
4637090 I am! Thanks!
4637145
Peter has been using pencils to write with.
I will admit Rarity's conversion was a bit rapid, but I really didn't know where to take the conversation and fill the plot point.
Druery lane, real.. ok. I should have guessed, where else would Derpy live?
>unfavorites original story
>finds a spin off that's better then the original
>favourites and likes spin off
You sir are fucking awesome
4638012 Oh stop.
Seriously, I had no clue how popular this story would become, and I am grateful for every viewer.
Now if only I could maintain a release rate.
She might be defiant about it, but I think you meant "definitely".
4638012
What original fic are you referring to? I might want to take a look at it.
4638375
The original Your human and you story
4638375
Curses! inability to spell similar words correctly is Definitely Defiant once again!
I'm kinda excited and also scared of Twilight's reaction now. She's a mare that loves learning new things but she doesn't like having her established world-view challenged.
I like it!
Likeable protagonist, humor, interesting situations and no ridiculous idioacy.
This is the first Your Human and You story that didn't leave me wishing that an asteroid would obliterate Equestria.
As for that omake, I suspect that Peter apparently disables the "lock" that removes sapience from the Humans.
However, I suggest you get another/new proofreader. Lots of mistakes involving homonyms.
Drurey Lane? I see what you did there.
"Do you know the muffin man?"
4639360 Correction, muffin mare!
3823428 Fedoras are cool if the rest of you is equally as dressed.
Neckbeards are weird, I guess, but why should we judge? Anyhow, fedoras and beards do not go together.
Autistic people can have sensory issues, and so are less likely to wear either a beard or a fedora. Like the fedora, they tend to be cool under the right circumstances.
What's never cool? A biased, ignorant person who doesn't see the harm in what they're saying.
3846197 Actually, it's not autism. It's social imitating behaviour, which is basically the opposite of autism. Everybody does it this way, so I'll do it too. No originality, no out of the box thinking. Ironically, I like how this story gives attention to it's details, which is actually strongly associated with autism.
Now, if all the bigots who think it's okay to turn a brain type into a slur would shut up and go away, I could read in peace.
4642111 Really? How?
4642110 possibly, but then again there are some people who would dissect others and do dangerous things.

Sudoku is a word game. You mean seppuku, an ancient ritual of cutting open your stomach to kill yourself, so as to die at your own hands, not at the hands of your enemy.
4640023
4640082
Agreed. A close friend of mine is autistic, and he's really smart. Straight-A student type of guy. I hate it when dumbass bigots like that use words like that as synonyms for 'stupid'. And don't even get me started on 'faggot'.
Though, I respectfully disagree about beards and fedoras. Not a big, bushy beard, sure, but beards can go well with fedoras. Just look at Indiana Jones.

4642129
That's a coincidence.
4638387
Thanks for that. I've now read it and largely agree with you. The world building here, in particular the details about Equestrian humans, is thus far much consistent than in the original. The original also has some convoluted plot designs, although it remains to be seen if this fic will adapt any of those.
...I just have to make sure I don't accidentally confuse minor details when new chapters pop up, particularly in character and world back-stories.
4640082
Sounds like great writing.
4642659
I hope that you were kidding, but you probably weren't. He knows. It's a joke. And did you just call Sudoku a word game?

(This is an actual question) Then was he joking about the "autism and spaghetti" bit? Still not funny, but at least he would be slightly less of an idiot.
4647044 The word "autism" in the sense that he used it does not refer to the Autism Spectrum Disorders. Instead, it just means stupidity, or general silliness. Yes, you can use this word in this way without having a negative image of those affected by the aforementioned disorder. If he was using the word in the first sense, however, he's just an edgy faggot who needs to stfu.
4647076
4647044
4640082
Autistic people have a tendency to misunderstand or ignore unspoken social rules, which leads to unintentionally hilarious imitations of things that they think are interesting in many cases. This is not an opinion, but a proven fact--severe, debilitating social ineptness is one of the main recognized symptoms of autism.
Second, autism has nothing to do with creativity or intelligence, It does not make you smarter or dumber, nor does it make you more or less creative. It does not make you an "outside the box thinker", or a "special snowflake", or an "idiot". It makes you a person with autism. Some successful autistic people have cited autism as a positive, liberating influence that has helped them to harness creativity they already had, while others have allowed it to stick them in a loop of obsession and entitlement that terminates any semblance of creativity or originality. Claiming autistics are more intelligent than other people is a myth propagated by mothers desperately searching for a reason not to smother their pants-shitting manchild at night, and claiming they're stupider is something /b/ came up with to have a lower form of life than themselves.
Third, autism is not funny, on its own, but people like Chris-Chan are. And Chris-Chan and a lot of other internet shits have used autism as a catch-all excuse for their behavior because for a while, it was seen as an untouchable diagnosis: you can be a genius and not be responsible for your actions at the same time. As a result, "autism" is now shorthand for "acting like an idiot" because so many idiots like him have made it part of their most basic identity and spent so much time screaming about how it's all autism's fault that they do what they do. The internet doesn't forget, so it's not going to go away.
4647076 The way it's used is bigoted.
4647218 I'm not going to stand by and avoid attempts to muzzle the facial and manual rectums that spew such things... I'm not disputing that Autism is disabling, and I realise that my casting autistic people as anarchic geniuses is sometimes off, but it's not wholly an unrealistic viewpoint. All the autistics I know have had to fight for their rights, their self esteem, and they've had to do it standing against buttloads of allistic pressure that says their words, their communication, is meaningless. Or just, an "inspiration", but you're such a rare, special snowflake, because you can TALK, so obviously, none of what you say is valid for MY poor child.
In any case, I don't forget certain things, either. And you know what I remember? Jaylen Edge, Alex Spourdalakis, Katie McCarron. Making a joke or a put down about the way they lived and died like you did is NOT kosher. Making a put down, even one based on another's false claims, is just plain wrong. I really don't care if you don't care. I think all who don't care are a bunch of hockey for feelings bigots. If you don't want me to knee jerk react and call someone who deserves it a bigot, then don't act like a bigot. Autism isn't something you should even consider sounding like you mock. Classless worms who claim autism as an excuse are no reason for you to be incited to equally classless prejudice encouraging language.
Some people strongly remind me of the ponies in the human hating fics...
4638423 Sorry for derailing story talk. It's just... prejudiced language is dehumanizing, both for the user, and the ones to whom it can apply.
4647956 Quite alright. I don't know enough about Autism to make any judgements on the subject. Given about two or three hours of dedicated research I might make a genuine argument, but I'm lazy.
4648561 If you want, you can study Youneedacat's tumblr, Emma's Hope Book, anything by Julia Bascom (especially Quiet Hands), Radical Neurodivergence Speaking, and Yes, That Too. If you want to see an opposing viewpoint, then I recommend Autism Speaks To Washington, Autism Every Day, and I Am Autism. If you can find the one in the middle. I'm pretty sure it's down. I tried my best to keep the viewpoints varied.
4648790 Thank You.
An interesting premise. I've only skimmed the source material after finding this one, but I'm enjoying it so far. My criticism though: You do a very interesting job at world building. Even without having read the source material I can get an idea of what the hell is going on and humanities place in this. But your characters fall a little...flat.
Take peter. He's taking this whole mess REALLY easily. Strange new planet, humans as pets, in the first 24 hours his reaction is "I shall get a green card and settle in this new world!" And the biggest problems he deals with about this whole mess happening is his inability to keep his pants from being ripped. You state his wants are to get back home and such, but he doesn't seem at act on it. Just kinda...mill around aimlessly being introduced to characters. I really don't know what to make of your flash forward chapter, a farcryesque "male, military trained, hero arrives to bring his technological superiority and skills to overhaul and save the kingdom from a new threat and become supreme commander awesome because he is so great." No offense, but yawn.
I'm interested in reading for the world building, but frankly I don't like your characters. I find them kinda one dimensional.
4655650 I see. I will acknowledge this. There shouldn't be any sex stuff for a while, though, so don't worry.
4654747
I thank you for your criticism, and offer my rebuttal.
After reading the original story and a few spinoffs I noticed a trend. The protagonists all assumed their role to be the equivalent of E.T. and feared that if they were revealed to be different from regular humans they would be dissected or tortured or lobotomized. With this fear they quickly assume the role of a docile local human, essentially allowing themselves to be enslaved in order to protect themselves from what they think is a society that would kill them. Peter is designed as a response to this. As a Political Science/ Philosophy Major he takes a different approach, with a "Liberty or Death" attitude. Essentially, where other YHAY protagonists think 'what if they find out', Peter take the stance 'they must find out.
I'm trying to keep his reaction to the new world measured. He is not as concerned about the whole 'humans are slaves' angle because his analysis of humans is that they are simple beasts. Essentially he agrees with the ponies that Equestrian humans are the equivalent of large dogs, which is why he likes to refer to them as 'troglodytes'. I wouldn't say he really wants to settle, he just want a clear distinction between him and the local humans so he isn't treated as one. He does want to go back, but since he doesn't know how he got there to begin with and remaining a liberated individual is higher on his priority list I haven't really discussed this as much.
If Peter's former service makes him seem OP, don't worry. As he elaborated, he never really saw combat and he's been out of the service for several years. His skills are as rusty as a hundered year old steak knife left in an open field. As stated in the Author's notes of the Omake chapter, that was more or less a way to vent some personal frustrations I was going through, so if that seemed overpowered good. It was supposed to. It also takes place twenty years in the future with untold experiences leading up to that point.
In summary, if Peter feels kind of flat, it's probably because I'm having him approach the scenario from a philosophical viewpoint instead of a survivalist one. Thank you again for your critique, and I hope you will continue reading, I will try to eventually have Peter do something besides meander about and write conversations.

First story that I've read in this universe and it has actually piqued my interest.
More of this would be most appreciated.
4658529 Thank you. You can expect more.
i dont usually read stories that are based from another, but this one is good
4661875 YOU'RE A GENIUS!!
4638078
So which of the Mane Six, or background ponies, will our intrepid human meet next? Until the clothes are crafted, Twilight's out. It might be fun to watch the flower mares panic and bleat like fainting goats but they panic over everything, even bunny stampedes.
Heh, I could see Peter just standing there, nonplussed, as the sea of fluffy bunnies rush past, holding a terrified mare in his arms as she stares down at the rampaging rodents, "Save me!"
You got an extra word, here.
4639053 I'm thinking from that dream thing at the beginning of this story that an alicorn is behind all this, so she might be able to find some facts fairly quick to satisfy her curiosity
i enjoyed there dialogue,u write a really good Rarity.
its a shame she wont be a love interest, they go well together
4672600
but holding a mare like that would be adorable...
