It was a long road to redemption for Starlight Glimmer, but she's finally arrived. With Twilight's tutelage, she has embraced the beauty of difference and the magic of friendship, and even accepted her own special talent, magic. Which is why she's so frustrated when Twilight Sparkle locks her out of the castle library and tells her to get a hobby.

I really love Starlight's thing for kites. It's a great detail that gives her a lot of mostly unspoken depth. One point of interest in particular, I always saw it as something Twilight encouraged her to pick up, but a lot of fics take the view that it's something she was always interested in, which is fun in its own ways. This fic is my attempt to reconcile both ideas.

A month after the Friendship Games, Twilight is still easing her way into the established friend group that took her in at Canterlot High. She feels a tangible expression of her thanks will help the process.

It will. She just neglected to consider some niche details.

For those in the know, the Equestrian Black Market is a treasure trove. It's well hidden, rarely open, and can only be entered with a special magical currency. And if none of those dissuade a cocky wannabe entrant, the inventory inside is far too edgy for the average Equestrian.

It's a wonder Trixie hasn't been banned from the premises yet.

This is an entry in the Snippet Series, an anthology of old oneshots that I (and my good buddy Str8aura) wrote based around interesting pics I found. New ones will be posted every other Thursday for the foreseeable future.

Nopony in town paid much attention to the antiquated farm wagon on runners piled high with a cargo concealed under an old tarp—but Spuds did. What could be piled so high, and yet light enough that a pair of teenage siblings could tow it?

One mystery was solved as the tarp came off at the mercantile, but that led to more questions, and presently a tour of the homestead was arranged, and Spuds learned not only how wicker is harvested, but also what kind of pony harvests the thatching for his roof and makes the broaches that hold it to the rafters . . . and also make the laundry pegs that hold his sheets and blankets on the clothes line.

It took a lot of work to get this far. Piecing together rumors, conjecture, the faintest hints from every literary journal to reach the tree -- all assembled through the notes on her desk. But not only has Twilight found the charity auction, she's managed to get inside (because the wings are good for that much) and is in the perfect position to win what was supposed to be the secret lot. She just has to be the pony who writes down the final, highest number on the silent auction sheet before the bidding closes, and she's going home with two boxes of A.K. Yearling's private notes.

Of course, auctions are a little more complicated than that. Especially when they insist on letting other ponies bid. And when this one mare just keeps bidding against her...

A reasonable pony would be able to overcome that. Unfortunately, this is Twilight.

This story is a sequel to Twilight's Wings

It had been years since Twilight Sparkle took the throne, ascended to become Princess of Equestria. Years since she and Starlight Glimmer last sat together, studied magic, and tidied Twilight's wings. Their efforts had only revealed one thing: It was impossible. Or at least, Starlight had believed so, tried to put that dream of flying behind her, tried to forget those quiet, intimate evenings and embrace her work as the Headmare of the School of Friendship.

Then the letter arrived.

Written for the sake of writing at all. I hope you enjoy.

Rarity was perfect once.

Sunset disagrees, mostly because the definition of perfect is inaccurate, anyway.

Cadance. Luna. Celestia. Flurry. Words which, across the whole of a planet, ultimately indicate but a single pony. Tradition solidifies into something stronger than mere law, guarantees that no newborn foals will be granted those names -- but that is something which happens after ascension.

On this night, the final two Twilights in all the world will meet. For the first and only time.

Ponyville—all of Equestria but mostly Ponyville—loves their random bouts of theatrics and choreographed dance routines. But is it at all possible for us to not do it during business hours? It's not really asking for a lot, is it?

Starlight's a big fan of it, don't get her wrong. But there are a few complaints...

How about not on Tuesdays? That seems reasonable, right?
