Strange rumors and sightings of a mysterious creature spread across the Badlands, but after the invasion made by Storm King, the rumor died down. However, a certain changeling is yet to give up hope.

Ocellus knew very well about her limitations but still could not stop her curiosity, especially when she was sure that this creature wasn't a 'local'. She's the one who started the whole rumor, and not many creatures believed her due to the possible invasion of the Changeling Kingdom, Thorax and the others were too busy preparing for their defense. After several weeks of investigation, the timid changeling finally decided to step out of her comfort zone and confront this new species of rare animal herself.

Little does Ocellus know she's not the only one searching for this creature.

Twelve days into their mission, a dust-storm has forced Twilight Sparkle, Flurry Heart, Rainbow Dash, Ocellus, Cadence, and Thorax, the crew of Astro III to abort their mission early. They must launch before the ascension rocket tips over, in order return to their orbiting spacecraft, the Cosmos. During the storm, Flurry is struck by a communication dish that breaks off of the habitation facility, and thrown out of sight. Without time to look for her, and with the rocket on the brink of falling down, the crew presumes her as dead and escapes just in time. Now, Flurry must find out how to contact them and get rescued.
