Equestria, 2092, society has collapsed after an alien invasion left the land devastated. Now, the last vestiges of ponykind fight to survive over the remaining resources, oil being the most valuable in order to run the steel beasts that transport survivors across the wastes.

The ever looming threat of the invaders is a constant one in this land, with patrol ships and extermination parties scanning the Wasteland for survivors every few months, and no knowledge on why they remain on the planet, let alone what they're searching for.

One stallion however must find his past, having long forgotten what he was before the world fell, he now travels the Wasteland in search of his past, Jackal MacAllaidh. Before, he was a Tier One Operator in the Equestrian Military, now? a mere survivor, with a picture of a mare in his rig, and a modified Charger, the Tribal as he is known as across the wastes. His beast a legend, Rust on Blood, and the driver even more so.

Now, Shining Star is a college student in Manehattan. One night, she finds herself on the other side of the fence, when she sees another pony try to jump off the Bronclyn Bridge. Can she help them before it's too late?

I looked into her large emerald green eyes drinking them in as much as I could, fearing that this might be the last time that I could, and sadly I knew that it such case now, because I relive this moment every night as the nightmare.

Mighty Force, Veiled Light, Blue Nectar, Applejack, Amethyst Star, and Cheerilee attend the Summer Sun Celebration, then have to journey into the Everfree Forest to find the Elements of Harmony and save Equestria. Following that, they settle into their daily lives, experiencing the daily drama of Ponyville.

Warning: A significant ways into the story, there will be mention of self harm and suicide. It will never be a central theme, and it could easily not show up for the first 20 chapters, but it will eventually be a thing. I blame my players for this fact.

Contains minor crossover with Doctor Who, though the story may be enjoyed easily enough without knowledge of it. At the time of posting nothing past the tenth Doctor has been referenced.

This story is almost directly copied off a Pathfinder campaign I am still running (we've been going for over a year at this point), in which the players (and some non-player characters because a bunch of players dropped out) take the places of the original mane six. Ironically, despite being a RPG campaign, it tends to be extremely slice-of-life most of the time (when not saving Equestria from Nightmare Moon, Discord, Ect.). The campaign uses the Spheres of Power alternate magic system and homebrew stats for the various races native to Equestria and the rest of Equus.

I'm sure most people are familiar with the works of replacement fantasy, right? Stories of average everyday folks getting transported out of their mundane lives to a world of magic and wonder, fighting great evils and saving olden relics or busty princesses?

Well this is sort of one of those things but less magical adventures and more depression and overcoming my own anxieties and fears in a world literally alien to me.
