I'm glad that I found a church that wholeheartedly accepts the LGBTQ+ people. It's called the Open Table Metropolitan Community Church. I attended their Zoom online conference today and it felt good in the chest that they welcomed me with open arms. I look forward to weekly online conferences as well as visit the building to meet the people there in person once the quarantine is over.
I know that this isn't the usual spot for religious talks, but I thought I'd ask a few questions about the Orthodox Church.
My first question is this:

Today, I finally told my mom about me identifying as a non-binary and asexual person. Minutes before that, she asked what I did this afternoon and I told her I attended a Zoom community conference for Open Table Metropolitan Community Church, a church that has a special ministry for LGBTQ+ people.

A couple of nights ago, I was scrolling on Facebook until something caught my attention. It was about a pastor of a mainline church that I previously attended who made insulting remarks by connecting monkeypox to homosexuality.
He doesn't realize how dangerous and alarming his remarks are. Not only did he spread medical misinformation but he also furthered the stigmatization of the LGBTQIA+ community, especially here in the Philippines.
