That is all.
*learns that The Washouts are a group of pegasi* Oh, come on! Does every daredevil have to be a pegasus? I'd love to see an earth pony--or heck, maybe even a unicorn--that does stunts. Like a canon version of Olive except an adult professional and not a teenager with attitude.
And so... after five seasons, Lightning Dust has returned.
I assume that most everyone uses a system from one to five, but what that entails can be very different from person to person. For instance, here is how I rank my episodes;
* means that I couldn't watch the whole episode without cringing.
** I watched the episode but I don't want to watch it again.
*** I could see the episode again, though reluctantly
**** The episode was good overall and I would watch it again.
Just like the last time I did this list there's no additional episodes from any prior seasons to add to the list this time around, so we're only adding the Season 9 episodes that to me were just not good or even decent. Here's Version 5, so you can see what episodes from Season 8 were flunked. Like always, this list is the result of my personal opinion, and I mean no offense to anyone at
I am currently aching from running a Dirty Dash today, have been making some final small preparations for my family's California trip and hoping I don't end up forgetting anything, and here I am deciding to jump in with quick thoughts on today's episode, given that I won't be able to give myself a few days to chew on it. So...
Fast as lightning, sharp as a sword
I hated it.
I despised it.
It was inconsistent, completely off-the-walls, and frankly, enraging.
Starlight? She's just the beginning. Trixie? Not remotely the entire problem. Both of them together? STILL not the issue.
I'll struggle through this video. I might even need to call in a favor for help with it.
Fast as lightning, sharp as a sword
Saw "The Carts Before the Ponies".
Hated it.
Applejack and Rarity are WAAAAY out of character, and Dash is marginally out of character, more so because she's with Scootaloo this time. Each one completely ignored their partners and were selfish and greedy and just plain assholes. And they have the nerve to ask "Why didn't you say anything?"
YOU SHOULD HAVE LISTENED, YOU STUPID BITCHES!!!
Fast as lightning, sharp as a sword
And now, a dramatic reenactment of me when Dash made Fluttershy cry:
(Skip ahead to 0:39)
WHY DOES THIS CHARACTER HAVE SO MANY FUCKING FANS!?!?!
Fast as lightning, sharp as a sword
LOOK ALIVE!! You may never hear these words from me again as long as I live.
This was actually a pretty good Rainbow Dash episode.
Ugh, that leaves a bad taste in my mouth . . . .
Anyway, I'm working for most of the week, so this vid will be delayed. But it will come. As will another Season One review.
I'm conflicted.
So, I was pretty disappointed with today's episode. It was kinda boring, but I had a big problem with the premise.
This one really captured Rarity's best side: her creativity. Her need to make each design unique and not want to churn out one design ad nauseum speaks out to the non-conformist in me. Rarity's character was amazing, so many more delightful background characters, and an antagonist that actually learns her lesson in the episode she debuts in, and doesn't need to come back three seasons later to learn it!
Back at the beginning of this year, I put down a wall of shame for FiM featuring episodes from Seasons 1-4. With Season 5 having ended, and Season 6 not likely to be due out anytime soon, I think it wouldn't hurt to update the list now.
If you're curious, here's the first wall of shame. Let's see what will be added this time around.
I was partially right.
Twilight did end up going a little crazy trying to figure out what happened, and she did think Discord was up to something. Two big things differed from my prediction:
1: Twilight didn't nearly reach "Lesson Zero" levels, and actually admitted she had a problem before it was too late.

I guess the point I'm making is I quite enjoyed this episode.
First of all...
Best out-of-context screenshot ever, or best out-of-context screenshot ever?
What the...
...What the actual floppy disk did I just watch?
It took me an hour to watch it on YouTube because I had to keep pausing it from the sheer overload of... something.
But I have to ask: which one of you are actually working for DHX and/or Hasbro and telling them all our fandom stuffs? Who's spying on us? WHICH ONE OF YOU NARC'D? I'M NARC(oossee). STOP USING MY NAME. ALSO SPYING, STOP THAT.
So I just watched the newest episode and I'm really wanting to talk about this one.
I loved it!
I might as well do this. After all, I watched the premiere, and I figure you guys deserve to know my stance on the episodes. Will I do this for every episode as they air? I dunno, depends on if I remember (though it's probably best if I skip the thoughts on Rock Solid Friendship, as that would be me throwing a tantrum about a certain character I cannot stand).
