    For why I'm not updating:

Bought it Tuesday night, promptly spent 26 hours on it in two days, stopping only to sleep and wash clothes.

I had things that needed doing.

    Like building solar panels.

And hydroponics bays to grow food in the winter.

What the...

...What the actual floppy disk did I just watch?

It took me an hour to watch it on YouTube because I had to keep pausing it from the sheer overload of... something.

But I have to ask: which one of you are actually working for DHX and/or Hasbro and telling them all our fandom stuffs? Who's spying on us? WHICH ONE OF YOU NARC'D? I'M NARC(oossee). STOP USING MY NAME. ALSO SPYING, STOP THAT.

My mind is full of WTF and I love it and also am filled with a great fear that someone is watching me. But I know it's you, Pinkie has lent me her wallbreaker powers and I SEE YOU THERE. Stop doing that, it's disgusting. And put on a clean set of clothes, the day-old T-shirt thing is just ugh.

BREAIN DAMAAGE. CANNOT GOLD ALL THESSS PONIES. ASDFG VZCV zkdfnogjinadslf gjdnfgonoafg1010101111000101010010010111010010011010101010110001001111010010010100

I need to go unfark my brain. Since episode 100 was a giant cluster of stuff that was both WTF and yet awesome, have the ending credits to a movie that was nothing but an hour and a half of the same incredibly insane but awesome stuff:

I think I've posted this before. But honestly, something like that episode needs a chaser of 80s nostalgia.

I know what you mean, I'm still not entirely sure what I saw there.

And that changeling...the implications of a random changeling attending the wedding...I'm still trying to puzzle out what that could possibly mean....

3147797 Well, Cranky got up to a lot of adventures with Steven and presumably traveled all over Equestria. It's not unusual to have a varied amount of friends from something like that.

I love that caption, as it's one of those meanings you have to think about a bit to really appreciate it. XD

Indeed. I guess they're not enemies of the state after all.

This kind of fits into my Brouhaha story, though; it's Chrysalis who's the b*tch. Celestia and Luna—oh God, they were bickering like actual siblings and it was so freaking amazing I loved it—would be like "don't be a jerk and we cool".

...Maybe that changeling was even Bakran. XD "I don't get why you guys are freaking out still I've been here for a month already."

D48

3147816 Yeah, but the presence of that changeling raises so many questions. How is it hanging around undisguised when a number of the ponies there were in Canterlot for the invasion? Did they reach some kind of peace treaty when we weren't looking? Are there multiple factions within the changelings with different stances towards Equestria? How did Cranky meet a changeling in the first place? If regular citizens knew about changelings, how did they take everyone so completely off guard at the wedding? What does all this say about the leadup to the invasion? If a changeling could get along with Cranky, what drove the changelings to invade? And the answers to all of these questions just raise more questions! So many questions!

Ok, I'm done. For now. :twilightsheepish:

3147843 Yeah, that caption is amazing.

Also, it is rather amusing how well it fits in with Brouhaha, although the bit with Bon Bon and Lyra is a bit of a hiccup on that front.

Fortunately I have the ability to compartmentalize and ignore things in my head. ;p It's one of the reasons I tag most of my stories with "alternate universe", because I know I'm probably going to run afoul of canon at some points. I do try to keep to it as much as possible but sometimes I just have to disagree with other writers on the characters. So my stories are not going to have secret agent Sweetie Drops... Well, except for The Aegis, where Bonbon actually is a secret agent, and Bonbon is in fact her code-name and her real name is Sweetie Drops and I SWEAR DHX IS SPYING ON ME.

I suppose some people might not like my disagreements with canon, but given that no matter how hard I try my stories are pretty much ignored by the masses I don't think that's a problem.

Given the fact that the characters literally jumped the shark

I cant help but think that this episode was made to be nothing more then a goof.

Also gummy should have been voice by Morgan Freeman.

3147925 Yeah, I know exactly what you mean. Fortunately, the writers did give us a very easy way out with the way season 3 ended. All you have to do is assume that Twilight finally got herself killed by being too reckless with magic instead of ascending and everything since then is some kind of afterlife/hallucination/whatever so we can ignore whatever we want. :rainbowlaugh:

3152674
Except that is far, far too dark and depressing. :derpytongue2: Seriously, I saw a comic that depicted something like that; made me feel bad for a whole day. No no no, real life is far too depressing as it is, I'm not letting my escapism be made into a grayed-out copy of life's heinous events, no matter how much that seems to be the fad (what with Game of Thrones and all).

My "out" is the whole idea of the multiverse in the first place. So long as we're postulating that alternate realities, I'm proffering my own take. My own slice of the delicious pie. Apple pie. Mmmmmm. Apples. :ajsmug:

D48

3153722 Fair enough, although it is an easy way to not deal with the mess the writers have been making lately because it is a possible interpretation of what we have seen.

3155054
I'm not exactly sure why everyone says the writers are making a horrible mess of things. Granted I don't approve of everything they've done on the show but I hardly think it's worth writing off two whole seasons.

D48

3155277 Well, to make a long story short, there is one fundamental problem at the core of seasons 4 and 5 which is that the more recent episodes tend to favor style over substance. The fundamental reason the show was great in seasons 1 and 2 was the characters and the dynamics between them. The characters had a lot of depth which set up some great interplay between them and more or less carried the show on its own. More recently, the writers have been going for big flashy stunts like the battle with Tirek and seriously neglecting the characters with lots of flanderization and the like which fundamentally kills the core of what made the show great. There are some other issues like the mindbogglingly stupid griffon "culture" they gave us, but they all circle back to this same fundamental problem which is that the writers did not care enough to do a good job building the world and characters.

Incidentally, these same issues are visible to a lesser extent in season 3 with the biggest offender being Magic Duel which used a magic doohickey as a lazy way to avoid dealing with the very real grievances Trixie had, exploring her character, and most damningly to avoid dealing with how this affects Twilight, Rainbow (who I honestly think would have been the most interesting of the four given her stubbornness and the fact that she is a performer so she knows how heckling feels), AJ, and Rarity. There was a ton of interesting material there which could have easily produced one of the greatest episodes of the entire series if they had dove into the kind of character exploration that made the show great in the first place, but instead they threw out a quick evil artifact and ignored all that wonderful potential.

Edit: Just imagine how interesting that episode would have been if they went to visit Pinkie's parents rock farm and met Trixie working there. The episode would have been so much more interesting than what we got (and it would have given us Maud a season earlier :rainbowlaugh:).
