Thoughts on "2, 4, 6, Greaaat" · 12:06am Aug 14th, 2019
I swear, that title makes me think of Tony the Tiger.
I swear, that title makes me think of Tony the Tiger.
No one expected the hiatus between Seasons 5 and 6 to be so short, but it was. So, after the divisive finale that made the infamous Starlight Glimmer a regular character, how was Season 6 going to handle the change in status quo? Well, we'll see what I personally thought of it.
The Crystalling
Well, had a crazy week, so I ended up forgetting to do the Rockhoof episode until it was too late. So... double feature.
In which Flutterguy tries to take over Equestria.
So, I've been thinking that since Season Nine is due in a couple of weeks and is the last one, I suppose we should go back and visit my opinions of seasons past (barring 7 and 8, since I did those). I've been watching the show since 2011, and I only joined this site and the fandom in 2014 because a certain episode gave me inspiration (we'll cover that later), so, why shouldn't I? I mean, it's only fair that I give my thoughts on every episode of the show, even if they're short.
Well, thanks to April Fools' Day and my FIMfic-aversary, I got a little sidetracked from these episode thoughts, and I got to do two more seasons before Season 9 on Saturday (I'm skipping Seasons 7 and 8 because I already made my thoughts on those episodes as they aired). So, after the infamous year-long hiatus after Season 4, Season 5 aired with much anticipation. Did I think it was worth the wait during that time?
Well... mostly.
The Cutie Map
Zipp's superpower is a magnifying glass.
Pipp's superpower is a microphone.
Misty's superpower is... Misty, why are you even here? Who let you in?
Pipp doesn't care about the plot. It's like the production of modern movies or G5.
Why does the music remind me of Pirates of the Caribbean?
Misty proves that she, indeed, sucks at everything, including acting.
Zomponies.
So, the new episode aired today. And I'm 99% sure you FREAKED OUT!!
Pipsqueak made the appearance we were shown before in previews. Nice!
Silver Spoon is tired of DT's bullshit. Well, it had to happen eventually . . .
What can I say?
I love EVERYTHING about it!
It's like the writers first read every fanfic, took the best bits, and made it into an episode. In my heart of hearts, from this moment forward, Doctor Whooves will be the Doctor placed into one of those "I am Human" hidden modes that time lords do. But as a pony.
Looking forward to Episode 200!
Back before Season 5 aired, I made a list of the top 25 episodes best episodes of the show in my opinion. Naturally, now that Season 5 has come and gone, several new episodes have become deserving praise. As a result, I decided to go up to 40 episodes. If you saw my list ranking all 117 episodes from worst to best, chances are you'll know already what number 1 is, and what episodes will be making the cut.
. . . and it already pisses me off!!
Twilight hypnotizes ponies because friendship lesson = the whole fandom hates her.
Starlight does the exact same thing, for the exact same reason, FOUR SEASONS LATER, and everyone's like "Aww, it's okay, Starlight. We'll let it slide. You're perfect!"
And no one realizes why I hate this character.
And here, we have a babysitting episode! This time, Twilight's taken the reins and has a niece to babysit... I wonder why this episode didn't show up earlier. Let's see how this goes, considering how people seem to be split on Baby Cakes (could be wrong, but I've seen a lot of complaints about that one, so...).
Fast as lightning, sharp as a sword
Just saw the new episode. Working on the video review now. But I wanted to point out one thing (SPOILERS):
You guys saw Suri Polomare in this episode, didn't you?
That is all. Carry on.
Stay quick, stay sharp, and thanks for reading!
Heh, got a little distracted with a Disney movie marathon that my sister Marshy and I are doing over the summer. Basically, we’re watching all the movies in the Disney Animated Canon (so, no mainly live action movies, no Pixar, and no sequels unless they’re in the official canon, like Rescuers Down Under and Fantasia 2000) in order of release. So far, we’ve made it to Dumbo and we should watch Bambi next.
"But you haven't done any episode thoughts since Triple Threat!"
I'm well aware of that. Sadly, life happens and I have more energy for art and stories in my free time than for episode opinions, plus with it being October, I was doing some Halloween-themed things like costumes, decorating, and drawing some spooky stuff.
That said, I do have a few things to say about Shadow Play (and headcanon things).
I know this may seem odd at the time that I release this, but I can't access the website so I can do a review of this episode on there, so it's time to use my FIMFiction account for something other than working on a story and rants occasionally!
So for the people who don't normally read my reviews, here's how it works: I first watch the episode and before all of my reviews I explain what set up the plot just to get an idea of how it is and then I give my review of the entire episode.
