So I had this thought. What if Changelings were less like a hive-bug creature and didn't hatch from eggs. What if instead they had to use other species to reproduce? With a baby changeling taking the shape of the mother until it is old enough to control its magic properly. Changeling goes in as the husband or whatever and the real parents raise the kid as their own. Gives it a nice fey flavor, and there are some insects that do that sort of thing anyway.

Hasbro said on the subject of Twilight and Cadance who accended that they are a different type of alicorn then Celestia and Luna who where born that way. Now Flurry Heart IS by Hasbro's logic an immortal alicorn like the sun goddess. They just had to make the baby an alicorn. Now you may "and the part about being an immortal?" ah well it's the eyes.
