Well it's time for me to answer your questions you sent last weekend for the Flurry Heart's Story Q&A! The bold parts are the questions with my answers beneath. Keep in mind, some of these questions had to have grammar corrected or have them reworded to be addressed to me and not one of the characters.

Melody Song from FIMfic asks: Will there be a time skip in MLSiAD?

Yup! In fact I’ve just started chapter 3 where this happens at the time I’m getting this question! We'll see an adult Nightwatch and Buttercream looking to be the same age as Spike throughout the show.

StarzGecko from FIMfic asks: Do you plan for the series to lead into G5?

I’ve been waiting a while for someone to ask this! Right now I’m really not sure. I’m liking G5 for the most part so far, just not the IDW comics. The way they made the backstory for how the magic in Equestria disappeared and what caused Discord to be the way he was doesn’t really sit well with my head-canon, and a lot of fans don’t seem to like it either. Also, I had already planned out a lot of what will be happening in the future of FHS in my head once I started drafting it. At that time, we didn’t even get the official word that G5 was a continuation of G4. Sadly I might end up ignoring the G5 canon entirely or at least the comics (which are likely to end up being non-canon much like the G4 comics were in many ways). By the time G5 is done, if all goes well with it, I might figure something out, but I can give no promises.

The creators pretty much made Sci-Twi and Timber into a couple after the Legends of Everfree film, and there are some neat theories that Sunny is a descendant from Twilight. Sunny is an Earth pony and so is Timber. Flurry should get a little cousin to play with.

I never knew they were dating in the shorts, but to be honest, I never cared for Timber and didn’t like him and Twilight being a thing. He annoys me, though we never got to see a more proper pony version of him, which would probably be more likeable. Maybe he’ll make a cameo in Equestria someday, just not as her love interest. I do agree with that last statement though: Flurry definitely needs a cousin!

StarzGecko from FIMfic asks: With Flurry and her friends taking the tree as their club house, won’t the other children be jealous about them having a club house in the middle of town and being close friends to Flurry?

They’re not going to keep other kids from coming inside. It will be open to other ponies much like the old library was. You’ll see the clubhouse being used more later on, starting with a story that I have not told the synopsis for just yet.

SpikeSmolder Fan from FIMfic asks: In the upcoming Spike story, has Garble finally mellowed out in regards to Spike?

Garble won’t be in that story, but I think it’s clear they’ve made up since the “Sweet and Smoky” episode in the official show. I’m not sure what to do with Garble in my series just yet, but I did make some older artwork of him a while ago so he will most likely be used.

They will meet, but that happens in FHS (and we’re getting there!). Most of what is happening in MLSiaD right now is prequel material.

Amphibia?! Oh boy, I’d love to do some sort of shoutout to that show! I’m not sure how I would right now, but I may take a bit of inspiration behind some elements of Amphibia, but not to a point of plagiarism. I want FHS to be as original as I can make it.

I would definitely like to, I’m just figuring out how.

Like all kids, they definitely love holidays and I’d imagine Hearth’s Warming Day is their favorite, or at least it's Stormy's favorite. And yes, we will definitely be seeing future stories revolving around some Equestrian holidays. Right now we’re in summer and there aren’t a whole lot of holidays in that time for them so it may be a while before we get any.

AceBlazewing from Deviant Art asks: Did you know, when you first came up with Buttercream, that she'd end up becoming so iconic a character for you, or had you always planned to expand on her character as you have been, including her adoptive brother Nightwatch?

I honestly had no idea Butter would take off the way she did, not just for my audience, but for me! She was originally supposed to just be a little character in a video game that was meant to be the token cute female of said game, but I decided to add on to her backstory and one thing lead to another. By the way, the basis for Nightwatch is an idea I've had for a while actually. Can't remember exactly when I thought it up, but it was before Buttercream. There will be a lot going on with these two in the future, just you wait!

AceBlazwing from Deviant Art asks: Out of the three pleasantly plump protagonists you've introduced us to, being Buttercream and the FHS versions of Pinkie and Spike, who do you think would win if presented with a speed-eating contest?

Pinkie would win, hands down. XD

AceBlazewing from Deviant Art asks: What stories are the most fun for you to write when it comes to the FHS-verse? The big adventures full of danger and battle, or the more down-to-earth slice-of-life stories?

Honestly, both are fun! The adventure/action type episodes are great to write when the suspense really kicks in and I know it’s going to surprise the readers. Tirek Vs Scorpan really did this for me. And the slice-of-life episodes are great too even if they lack that action. The more emotional scenes from “Apple Family Memories” can have the same effect when you’re writing them. I think the best feeling from writing can be when you come up with a really good line from a character or a really good idea to put in the story that satisfies you. That happens with both these types of episodes in my experience. One of my favorite things to write are the comical moments with Stormy.

Well that’s what Flurry wanted, so it’s a reason to send her, but notice some of the dialogue at the end of chapter 3 of “Elements Assemble”:

“Highnesses, I think it’s time we discussed your daughter’s future,” he said.
“Do you mean…” Shining began to say.
“Yes, Shining Armor. Your sister was right. It’s time.”

Marcesharky from Deviant Art asks: Since the magic of Tartarus allowed Tirek to live for so long, Sendak, Vorak, & Haydon were turned to stone, How is Scorpan still alive and not really old like the movie concept art of him?

Head-canon time: Scorpan looks more middle-aged because he and many other gargoyles have used their petrification powers on themselves a lot. They do it usually to hibernate during the winter, which extends their life because winters get pretty brutal down in the Midnight Kingdom with how far down south it is. Centaurs lack this ability, but are safe enough during the winter, but the reason Vorak and Haydon were turned to stone for so long was because they really wanted to see Tirek one day if he changed. This is also why Scorpan would have to keep himself around long enough so he could communicate with his mother to get her to come back. Either that or gargoyles live for well beyond 1000 years, maybe more like 2000, and the first time Scorpan and Tirek came to Equestria was just over 1000 years and probably happened a decade or so before Nightmare Moon was banished and Starswirl went into limbo. This is all subject to change, but it’s how I see it right now.

Yeah, I plan to use him someday; I’m not sure how just yet.

Marcesharky from Deviant Art asks: It could be an episode of FHS or it’s own fanfic but would you do a What If style fanfic where if Discord’s fake Grogar plan succeeded and a What If the ten years redemption wasn’t ruined? If it’s an episode of FHS maybe it could be a dream sequence or fantasy episode?

That does sound like a good idea for a dream sequence or fantasy, and I have envisioned something like that before. Not sure if I’ll use that exact idea, but it’s definitely an option!

I had to look this guy up and wow, I didn’t know who he was! I’m going to be ignoring a lot of stuff from the comics, but King Aspen might be of good use one day!

Yup, all three of them. Scootaloo teaches sports, Sweetie Belle teaches singing, and Applebloom teaches home economics and all three of them teach general courses about friendship. On the side, Scootaloo babysits for Rainbow Dash, Sweetie Belle teaches drama classes at the Carousel Theater (formerly the Carousel Boutique), and Applebloom helps Sugar Belle at her own bakery in town. Also the “Cutie Mark Crusaders” is now their own non-profit organization looking to help ponies across Equestria with finding and understanding their special talents.

Yes and most likely!

It would mostly be the same as taking care of a baby pony, but Butter would probably have more of an appetite and want gems from time to time. Butter is also pretty energetic and probably a bit annoying at times, but in a very endearing way. Nightwatch and his parents really wanted a little girl, even if it was a dragon, so they put up with Butter’s shenanigans pretty well and love her through and through.

She and Cheese will be planning it, but they’ll be getting lots of help.

Flurry’s got lots of past-times; just about anything you can think of kids doing together with their friends before we had smart phones and kids wasted their time on the internet. Lots of games and indoor activities, but also a lot of outdoor as well. Before she went to Ponyville, she would usually keep to herself since she had a hard time fitting in with other ponies her age in the Crystal Empire, so she would read a lot and do studies and mostly hang out with her parents and Starswirl.

Twilight’s not worrying too much about romance right now, but who knows? Also, in “Villains Anonymous”, we learn that Sunset and Flash are in a relationship.

Yup! She might be appearing again in an upcoming episode!

This was a tough one to decide on. I would say yeah, but not with the intention of marrying her. They’re both sweet on each other and Rarity still calls him “Spikey Wikey.”

Again, I don’t know if I’m going to consider G5 canon so I would say this won’t be a plot point, plus that’s far off from where I am currently focusing most of my attention on. If I have to be honest, I’m not sure the idea of the races dividing over time like that is very good in contrast to the ending of G4, unless it happens about 1000 years later. This could all change though.

I don’t think I’ve ever really hinted at Pound and Flurry being an item in the series…but…let’s just say I like the idea.

I try to not worry so much about the physics of things since there’s a lot of scientifically inaccurate stuff going on in the show. The pegasi would not be able to get off the ground with wings that small, yet they somehow manage to. Realistically, Spike wouldn’t be able to fly at that weight either, but it’s just a cartoon and I want to be able to keep the aesthetic of him being a total chonker and still being able to fly.

Well remember that Twilight said she’s going to have her guards keeping an eye out for Cozy in the Everfree Forest. If they find her, they’ll bring her right to Twilight. Is this how it’s going to happen and will Cozy repent? You may find out soon…

Probably not before going to Ponyville. I haven’t covered something like that yet in the stories so far, but they’ve most likely already had one in the castle or at Stormy’s house or something. There is one episode coming up that has the kids doing a sleepover, not gonna say which one though.

Not sure where you heard that. I won’t be using ALL of them per se, but I want to be able to use the ones that are most interesting to me.

I mean we already know what Flurry will most likely be doing. The Apple Twins and Cake Twins have their future professions implied and we know Stormy wants to be a Wonderbolt like his mother someday. Whether or not that all happens remains to be seen.

A few people have asked me this in the past. Honestly, I’m not sure how I would do it right now. With the humans of EqG being a thing, it is certainly possible, but I don’t really feel right having her be a pony since humans going into Equestria just turns them into a pony and vice versa. I’ll think of something, but I can’t give any promises right now. Also, please don’t anyone give me suggestions. I want to think for myself on this.

For Night Shade it would be either Michael Jackson's real voice since that was the inspiration for the character, or more realistically, Gabe Brown aka BlackGryph0n. For Zeb it would be Idris Elba.

Well I’ve used Scorpan already, but as for non-villains, I have a few in mind, but I’m not going to say right now which ones I’ll be using. There are a few I have set to appear in a future episode that is going to be a while from now, but you’ll have to wait on that.

Good question, but I think right now we need to ask that of the Teacher's Elements…

I have! I’m not sure about using the EqG world right now, but it is canon since pony Sunset Shimmer has returned to Equestria. Maybe one day I’ll do a flashback episode for Sunset that explains how she made the decision to return. As for Flurry and her friends going there: it’s definitely possible, but I don’t have any ideas for it at the time.

Well let’s just say there’s a certain villain that everyone really wanted to see in the show but never got the chance to. Who is it? What will he/she do? Even I’m not too sure yet for the latter because it’s a ways away now.

Well I did already mention how Flash is dating Sunset so that’s obviously not going to happen. I don’t know if I can see that being the plot of an episode with the kids helping Twilight with that, but I do think Twilight needs a handsome stallion in her life.

Yes and no. There are some future events in the series that I’ve already thought of and am building up hype for, but it is subject to change. Basically, I’m thinking ahead with a plan like a good writer should, but I’m focusing mostly on the first season right now. The closer I get to the end, the more of a solid idea I will have.

Roman-Santos from Deviant Art asks: When did you first started creating Flurry Heart's Story, and what gave you the idea?

It technically started before the show ended back in mid 2018. I started drawing pics of my grownup version of Spike again (the first one was a recolor of my OC as a dragon from 2014) and then I thought I’d make a pic of older Flurry and older Twilight and things grew from there. As for what gave me the idea: I guess I just had my creative juices flowing and thought it would be a cool idea to think up a scenario for the future. I did get a few things wrong like Twilight just being the Princess of Friendship and ruling from her crystal palace in Ponyville, not being the leader of all Equestria . I obviously had to change that, but most everything else stayed the same. After the show ended, my mind just exploded with ideas and I knew right then I had to start a fanfic series and here we are! I started writing episodic plot summaries and I thought up the tune for “You’ll Never Be Alone” while sleeping in one morning at the end of 2019. I have to credit the unanswered questions like what will become of the “Legion of Doom/Trio” and what happened to the real Grogar for getting me inspired to finish the story. It's been amazing!
