Some things are way better off left untouched. MLP and some other brands aren't one of those, but the world's most dated cartoon is one of those that are so much better off if they where left untouched. So... What do you get when you take an animated, really dated soap opera cartoon that tries way to hard to cater to a larger demographic, make it live action, put the director who directed two Justin Bieber movies, and make it the most cliched thing ever? You get this stupid shit!
Warning: This blog includes intense language as well as a shit ton of laughing. Reader discretion is advised... Secondary Warning: Spoilers (Duh!)
Saw Suicide Squad last night. 7.5/10. Definitely better than Batman vs. Superman. Margo Robbie nailed the insanity, personality and badassery of Harley Quinn, whose character stole the show, and Will Smith's Deadshot wasn't far behind, as he played the role with proper nuance--an assassin for hire with a soft spot for his daughter.
So yeah. New project.
More Equestria Girls stuff, because ... well, I'm lazy and it's a lot easier when your characters have thumbs. Plus, y'know, with only three movies to worry about, as opposed to the 5 or so seasons of regular pony we're dealing with, it's a lot easier to find new themes and ideas to play with.
And in this case? Horror!
Another one, huh? This time, it's a pretty short movie, which means a pretty short review, which also means an even shorter lead-in. Get the rest after the break!
I really like it.
Granted, it wasn't perfect or amazing. But it was a solid movie, had some great stuff in it, and I definitely didn't almost start crying at that one part (you know the one if you've seen it). I give it a solid 8.5/10.
Go see it. Seriously, go see it in the theater.
One piece of advice I can give, though (and which isn't a spoiler) is to remember when this movie was written. I believe they first started work on it around the middle of season four, maybe even earlier.
SPOILER!
It turns out that Tempest Shadow isn't her real name. When she told Twilight her real name, I could not stop laughing!
Tempest Shadow's real name is Twistberry Fizzlebottom!
Yesterday I watched the movie with my sister and my niece, who is all of two. My niece sat on my lap for most of the movie, mesmerized. She didn't seem scared at any point, but she did start to get bored about an hour into it, and turned around to look at me and play with my necklace.
So i have an idea for a clopfic based on a scene from the mlp movie. I request you have seen the movie. If intrested please send me a pm so we can discuss it
HE DINE AND DASH ME!! HE SIP AND SKIPPED ME!! HE CHEW AND SCREW ME!!
What?
He no pay for his four scorpion bowl!!
I have a certain fondness for Westerns.
I owe that to my dad. He was a huge fan of Gunsmoke (both the radio and the TV show), and I have some memories of him watching episodes of the show on TV Land. He also showed my sister and I a few of the classic Western films of the John Ford era - Stagecoach in particular was one of them, although I remember I liked Yellow Sky a lot more.
Oh great King Nod! Have no fear, Zig Zag your grand vizier is here!
I've been sitting on this review for over a month now. I watched it back around Valentine's Day with my dad and wrote up a review of it, but only now have I gotten around to posting the darn thing!
But anyway, let's get into it.
Frankenstein. The classic movie, that practically launched Universal Studios' monster movies and made Boris Karloff a horror star.
What can I really say about this movie?
It's a movie that's left an indelible footprint in popular memory and culture.
I just saw the most awesome thing ever !!!!
The tickets have been purchased. Next week I will do what is forbidden.
It felt a little weird, Like I shouldn't of been there at all. But I don't care, I still wanted to go see this movie anyways. When I went into the theater there were actually cosplayers of twilight sparkle who were seeing the movie as well. Ehh, there was a few men in the theater room as well, so I didn't feel too out of place. Everyone seemed to go in groups, But I went by myself.
