    River City Equestria Girls?

Seriously, that's Pinkie Pie on the left, and Rainbow Dash on the right. Tell me I'm wrong.

I will not write a fanfic about the two of them getting into all the fights.

    Probably.

An "I don't have livejournal anymore" sort of update.

    It snowed yesterday.

Which just reminded me how much I don't like winter. It wasn't even a bad snow, just enough of a dusting to linger for a little bit. First one of the season. And I even had the day off from work, due to my schedule, so it's not like I had to do anything ...

    So I didn't.

    Happy Halloween!

So yeah. Despite various distractions (Steam had Darkest Dungeon for UNDER FOUR BUCKS), I've managed to hammer out a ridiculously shippy conclusion to the self indulgent Rarijack story I started.

So that's fun? I gave myself a deadline to finish things on Oct 31, so that's what I did, dangit. Hopefully you guys will enjoy.

Yet another change of pace! · 10:10pm May 4th, 2016

So yeah. New project.

Cabin Fervor.

More Equestria Girls stuff, because ... well, I'm lazy and it's a lot easier when your characters have thumbs. Plus, y'know, with only three movies to worry about, as opposed to the 5 or so seasons of regular pony we're dealing with, it's a lot easier to find new themes and ideas to play with.

And in this case? Horror!

Pony-Horror isn't something I've played with too much (except for that one Vampire romance spoof I did a few years ago, Vamp It Up). It's a tricky genre to work with, especially since it's something that the show DEFINITELY won't delve into. Or, well, at least nothing scarier than some occasional creepy castles or something. On top of that, just hammering out a 'and then Rainbow Dash got stabbed and blood went everywhere and then her guts exploded!' can verge on the juvenile. It's a fine line to walk, so we'll see how things go.

Regardless, with Cabin Fervor, I'm gonna be drawing inspiration from a lot of horror flicks. Evil Dead, Friday the 13th, Cabin in the Woods, (Maybe even Cabin by the Lake), You're Next, Feast, Night of the Living Dead, Tucker & Dale vs. Evil .... you get the idea. And, y'know, the blood n' guts wasn't the only sensationalist part of a lot of those, but there was the gratuitous nudity angle, which I've kept in mind.

Bit of a change for me. Which is kind of funny, considering my very first pony story was about booze, and the second one was just a loosely connected series of dirty jokes. Still, I vaguely recall hearing about some business where one of Cold in Gardez's stories wound up getting a ton of downvotes 'cause he wrote something that was a lot more explicit than his normal fare.

So yeah. Cabin Fervor is not a clopfic, and it's not going to be a clopfic ... but it's still a bit ... well, I dunno if I wanna say 'darker' but certainly heavier than most of my oeuvre. I'm curious to see what people think of it-- perhaps I'll gain a ton of new fans, or perhaps I'll lose a bunch. Who knows? Not like silly pony stories matter in the grand scheme of things.

(Oh, and Cabin Fervor is probably gonna be SunLight-tastic, for those who've been wanting to see more of that).

You may be thinking of "In the Garden of Good and Evil".

Either that or Once and Future Darkness. Both dealt with Luna/Nightmare Moon and both were pretty damn bleak. The first involving ritualized orgy and sacrifice and the other Twilight tempted with horrifying yet deeply satisfying dreams designed to appeal to her basic animal desires. Once and Future was better, honestly, but Garden has a sordid enticement to it where you can't look away. Both had higher dislikes partially from the mature content, but mostly because their outcomes and concepts were a lot more controversial. Especially if you like Luna lots and don't like her being a bit sinister.

Pretty excited to see where this one goes.

I'd expect Sunset to be at ease with skinnydipping and such. After all, the ponies don't normally wear clothes. :ajsmug:

(Now I'm trying to remember who wrote a little fic with Sunset and pony!Twilight in human form sharing a shower, with lots and lots of explicit nudity and scrubbing and so on, and not a jot of sexuality...)
