I'm a month late to this, but here's my take on MLP: TNG (or whatever we're calling it). I was underwhelmed the first time I watched it, but I gave it a second chance, and it started to grow on me. I think my mistake was watching Raya and the Last Dragon just a few days before the G5 movie. Both movies have similar themes and plots, but they handle them differently. More on that later.

I really really hope that because her alicorn form in glowing and transparent is because it's fake and temporary.

If not then I'm pretty sure it's just writers probably going lazy and choosing a very easy route. They probably didn't want to create a whole arc/seasons of Sunny becoming worthy of becoming an alicorn so they just gave it to her.

Granted, different site and different fandom (Naruto vs. MLP), but I suppose lack of potential readership is another reason I've never posted a fic here - or even ever finished writing a pony story.
