Let's see... I've never actually counted them before, but I think around twenty at the moment.

I have 20 OC's all created in the same universe.

For the MLP universe I only have 7 characters.
But overall, I have 100+ creations for all my writing works.

I currently have 7 OCs for my story and that's about it for the moment albeit I have many more in my various stories I've written before becoming a Brony.

I've got 10 reoccurring, at least 6 more in the new story I'm working on. There's probably 4 or so that I've forgotten about and the story after next is going to take place in a school in Canterlot, so pretty much the whole school.

Um kinda depends on your definition, I have 2 main OCs, and counting, and like 3 backstory OCs, which aren't really part of the story, just sorta for... Information...

For ponies... 2 plus their families (total 12) plus the odds and ends background ponies.

The thing is, no proper OC exists in a vacuum. Unless you're willing to start screwing with canon (be you a far braver or dumber soul than I), you have to come up with backgrounds, families, friends, random people to interact with, ect if you want them to be the fullest character they can be.
