I really need one. I have been binge writing for a while, then I stopped for months and I can't get back into writing. I just feel like I'm at a boring part of my story where it won't be fun for me, but I know the parts after it won't be boring. How do you deal with it, and when do you decide to stop writing for a bit?

How do you deal with writer's block?

You write. That works for me.
Or play Minecraft.

1545571 Just take some time to think, and power through it without rushing it. It's all you can really do.

(Only ten people will see this post in the immediate future(I also have no advice)).
Sorry for wasting your time.

do the craziest thing that comes to min. It's always worked for me.

I let inspiration come to me, but don't force it to come to you. That's why I redid chapter 8 of my story.

Work on a second or third or nineteenth story :twilightblush:

That or write a throwaway piece. I have about thirty of them.

Five round rapid, delayed blast.

1545571 just fuckin troll people on YouTube, works for me!

1545571 Boy do I know those feels. I find that exercise helps me think of new ideas for my stories, for me it's hiking. All that peace and quiet, along with the nature helps the blood to my brain get flowing.

Personally I go for a walk in the forest near my home.

It's quite relaxing and the fresh air helps me think

Ah yes, I've had to go through that quite a bit while writing the last chapter I posted... I just took my time with it. Wrote a dozen hundred words, slept on it, played Natural Selection 2... I also find rereading what I've written up to that point also helps "build up momentum," so to say.

relax, take a dump, watch stuff related to stories and let the juices flow

Usually? I read other people's stuff, and go to one of the other fics I've been doing, or I watch the show for a bit, or play hours and hours of video games.

Play video games, listen to music, read a book, watch porn, and usually for me wait for inspiration to hit.

Music. Lots and lots of music. Particularly Classical music.

So much porn!:pinkiehappy:
:rainbowwild:

Force yourself to write something else or rest and watch/read something that might inspire you.

That's why I write What the Heck chapters. I write B.S. or just do life until something strikes me like a twelve ton goldfish.

Write an essay on stuff you hate, and then you'll see your creativity growing. By caging the beast, we make it angry. By caging creativity, we make it grow.

1545571 I think 1545592 is on to something! Try playing Jenga (Django? Jango Fett?) to cure your writer's block. Also, somewhat related webcomic:

Me? I just read other stories for ideas and such, i don't steal ideas but i read them and use the concept.

1545571 Usually when I have writer's block, I just stop writing for a while and work on the plot instead because that's not really writing, and it can be very fun at some times. And the writer's block could also be your body telling you to take a break for a while and just play some video games, or read a book, maybe hang out with friends and play something like D&D. That's the best advice I have.

Usually, to deal with the writer's block, I do three things, they're my options:

1. F*ck everything and write anything:
This would mean that I would painfully write what I have in mind on the story, knowing that later I will be able to fix it. Forget about the problem and just... Do it. A blank page is one of the worst things for a writer, but one has to overcome that fear and just do it, even if what you do is garbage. You will write, you will start, and you will make your writing work again. Later when you have your inspiration back you will be able to fix it.

2. Write something else:
Can't think of a way to continue your story? Well then, continue another one!

3. Relax:
Literally, just, relax. Do something else until you have your inspiration back. Don't force the inspiration, just wait for it to come to you.

And that's how I deal with the infamous writer's block. :yay:

Lay in bed, and begore you fall asleep just let all the weird shit idead cone to you caused by a relaxed brain
