Twilight tells Spike the story of Star Swirl the Bearded, a story she herself has never finished. Along the story, she learns of Star Swirl's history, and how it shaped the present Equestria, which she learns is also threatened.

The "Romance" element will not appear until later chapters. Sorry.

After years of living on couches and sponging off of neighbors, Vinyl Scratch finally hits it big in the music industry as a rock musician. Octavia is left with no one until Vinyl approaches her with an offer she can't refuse.
