You know... it really doesn't surprise me actually. Certain vocal leftists on this site were loud and obnoxious towards the mods and admin about wanting to ban me from this site permanently. Thankfully the powers in control are good people and not easily swayed by mob rule, but sadly the secondary platform I love to use was their next target.

As much as it sucks that someone false flagged you and Discord banned your account, it's not a violation of free speech as they neither operate as a government or as an extension of a government on the local, state or federal level. It doesn't make it right and no one should be censored ever, but servers aren't townships, counties, states or countries. Freedom of Speech means the government or anyone working or operating in a government capacity cannot censor you or seek out other forms of reprisal for the things they say, that's why politicians and government employees can't really do anything to stop a private citizen, reporter or news agency from saying anything about them, even if they are false. However, the same limitations do not extend to private citizens and privately owned companies.
5528000 Yes? As the definition of Freedom of Speech goes that's true, but if TS DIDN'T break the rules of Discord, there's no breach of the TOS. Those being a contract between the users and the company/provider still should provide some sort of ownership or clarity and at the very least a chance to appeal the decision. Even if whoever presumably reviewed her account the first time doesn't agree with something she said, she still should be able to make a case and get her account back. Although, as she pointed out earlier, social media sites in general are just effing relentless and will never even really take a second glance. Whatever the case it was a dick move.
(Edit: I guess to clarify, my direct answer to your point is that while it is indeed incorrect to say it's an attack on her freedom of speech, it's sort of a technicism that's not really worth picking over in this situation.)

What's legal and what's ethical are two different things. I don't think anyone here questions anyone's legal right to falsely report someone on Discord or Discord's legal right to de-platform someone for any stated reason or even no reason at all.
Legally it's fine. Ethically though? Lying about someone to de-platform them is pretty unethical.

I completely agree. They should allow you to exactly know what was flagged and why for, then give you a grace period to challenge the claim or retract the statement. Until a class action is filled against one or more of these social media sites to make them punish those who false flag, expect more of the same.
Do they really not provide any more information or evidence of what they're disabling your account for? "Comments made on this day at this time, comments referencing this subject in this channel", nothing at all like that? Also, is 'disabling' their term for a permanent ban, or is it for a duration?
Social media can make mistakes. Hell, I got banned from Twitter once because I mentioned that Mitt Romney tended to take positions both for and against his colleagues in the weirdest ways, and that I wished he could just commit, because his lack of conviction was just annoying. Someone reported me, apparently assuming I meant commit suicide.
If you've been accused of something heinous, it's correct for them to temp ban you, but a dispute should set things right. Good luck, TS.

The 1st Amendment protects free speech. It is the 1st Amendment which applies to government entities. It restricts them and prevents them from making laws that would oppress free speech.

File suit against Discord and publicly encourage everyone who has been wronged by false flagging on Discord to also file suit. If enough people file suit for the same thing, it can be filed as a class action, then they can be forced to both confront their broken system and fix it.

Youtube operates on these rules for a long time now. Don't like someone - spam report button with few thousand followers/bots and channel gets banned. And then the banned person must work to prove he/she was right.

I knew that Youtube was grossly exploitable by corporations and outright thieves with the DMCA takedowns and procedures, seen plenty of channels get hit with fraudulent claims and then hit the magical three-strike rule with pending appeals. I didn't realize their report system was so automated as well; the days of "Don't be evil" are long gone.
As for the digital gulags, the idea and principles of the "social credit score" system have been encouraged by many IT companies already, with elements already in place.
