About the Pear Butter pick, I AM working on that story, its just taking for-bloody-ever.
There's a really beautiful scene in a story I read a while back, where Princess Twilight explains to a foal that her newly-acquired Princess-ness made her a combination of all three tribes, rather than just slapping on a pair of wings, and when said foal asks what she gets from being one third Earth pony, she shows she can grow and heal plants. It was a lovely scene, but can I remember the story? No, no I cannot. Anypony?

I was wondering why Chandra was even on Ungula, but examining the dialogue, it's pretty clear that Jaya took her there for a lesson.
And presumably, Jaya already went there at least once...
Is it okay that I would probably favorite this story on this character alone?
Okay, we all know Chandra would be a pegasus.
Also, come to think of it, she'd probably look like the Indian ponies (such as Saffron Masala).

NGL, I'd be hyped for you to have your world-hopping Ditzy end up in Ducktales.
Ditzy takes a wrong turn on the Fourth-dimensional "W-Axis" and ends up in a multiverse where birds are the dominant species instead of ungulates. She doesn't even have a chance to get her bearings as she uses magic to hover in the air (since the DT ducks/birds can't actually fly) before she gets a face full of Sun Chaser (presumably only surviving because magic). Unable to see out the windshield because of all the Ditzy splatted cartoonishly on it, Launchpad crashes the plane (because that's just how it goes.) In the process, though, she drops her mailbag somewhere on the island with whatever temple the Ducktales crew has just landed on.
Bing Bang Boom the rest is history.

Image 1: With no ride, winter weather, her home two miles from school, and fresh from the swim meet after forgetting a change of clothes, can Rainbow run the distance before she freezes?
Image 2: No delivery is too far for the Equestrian Mail service! Not even... Duckburg? A dimensional portal brings Ditzy Doo to a strange world where she must adapt in time to fulfill their 24 hour shipping promise.
Image 3: Two cynical Kirin discuss the return of their voices, the latest play, new leader of Equestria, and other mundane issues while sipping kerosene and paging through the newspaper. Inevitably one gets angry at something and catches the house on fire.
Image 4: Human Diamond Tiara is.... not reformed. As exchange between Equestria and Earth continues, she uses daddy's wealth to bully her way to a vacation and is not impressed upon meeting her counterpart. Pony Diamond Tiara must not only confront her human self, but also the uncomfortable mirror it holds to her past actions.
Image 5: As an alicorn, Twilight is now one-third earth pony... but what does that mean? Fortunately she has a teacher, but earth pony magic is about instinct and feeling rather than book-learning. To learn, Twilight must first unlearn much of what she thinks she knows.

Alas, you and me both. Or at least some definitive concrete statement that they have their own special powers or whatever. Right up there with "good Celestia episode" for things I really felt it was reasonable to hope for.

Attitudinally, Chandra definitely works as a pegasus. On the other hand, Sunset Shimmer has established a track record for grumpy fire-themed unicorns running away to other universes when they get fed up with their mentors.
And there's definite story fodder in Chandra finding the Tasty Treat.

Image 1: I like the implication that Dash's hair turns blue when her body temperature drops (as opposed to Holidays Unwrapped, which seems to imply she's immune to hypothermia because she's already blue.)

Granted, canon started insisting that only unicorns have/use magic when, halfway through writing the Season 8 finale, they realized they'd accidentally killed off the entire population of Cloudsdale offscreen. (We know that this wasn't part of an actual plan because Tirek is right there in said finale to remind us that it contradicts his last appearance)

I don't think they ever really insisted on it? I mean even Meadowbrook is "mage" Meadowbrook, and the first Tirek fight said something about draining everyone's magic. I just think it would've been nice to actually confirm best ponies can do their own thing instead of desperately headcanoning it.

Its a combination of the blogs: Random Idea #63: Magical Hierachies of Equestria (and others) and Random Idea #72: Spellcasting Headcanons, for how I'm going to interpret magic in my fics, and my primary story "Diary of the Dead" in which I'm still rewriting the first arc.
The point being that I'm having a Terrasire be the main protagonist, except I haven't really gotten to the part of the plot where magic really starts getting thrown around.
Is it bad I forgot this blog exists?
