Pausing Nightmare Night; Firefly in progress

After three months working more or less exclusively on it, Nightmare Night goes on a brief hiatus. Here's the full status on it plus future plans:

Seven side story chapters posted

I kept my promise to get two more Temptations & Transformations side story chapters posted this past week for seven total. With more content comes more likes; I picked up four new upvotes there over the past couple days.

So a thank you to all new readers, both there and on the main story! And a couple new likes are even filtering all the way back to Midnight Rising, which is only 10 likes away from 600. Might have to do another bonus chapter there when it reaches it...?

Chapter 28 Updated

I also redid the opening section of the latest Nightmare Night main story chapter (28: Griffons Expressed), trimming it up to remove most of the Owlia/Certified Male scene that was there before and smoothing out the remainder. Looking back, that scene was shoehorned in rather clumsily by me for purposes of advertising the side story. It was gratuitous and unnecessary--yes, even for this story--and it didn't flow well at all.

It also no longer matched what was in the side story, where Owlia and C-M's story evolved a bit from what I originally envisioned and had stated here. Have to say, they've become a surprisingly popular couple with my prereaders and commenters alike, so they'll be a continuing feature going forward in both stories.

In any event, the opening section of Chapter 28 is fixed now, and the updated text was given approval by the reader who originally pointed out there was a problem. So a special shout-out to Implausible Deniability for that, and a thank-you to him for being a regular commenter both here and on the side story.

Future Nightmare Night plans

As for going forward? Firefly gets my attention for at least the next couple weeks, but Nightmare Night is not forgotten, with likely two side story chapters remaining in its first story arc, and reader requests for both the Peregrine conversion chapter along with a flashback chapter detailing Pinkamena's conquest of her sisters and possibly parents.

I admit I'm a little leery of the latter, because--let's face it--Pinkamena's a bit hard to write for, let alone sex scenes. Especially this version of her, who is both the portal-converted human Pinkie and equal parts lustful and lethal, but (thankfully) keeping protective instincts as well as her love for her friends. I'm also not sure that folks really want to hear about her converting her parents, so I might gloss that over.

Over to Firefly

But that's all down the road. It's time for me to shift focus from writing Crazy Clopfic to Best Warfic, and of course, those of you who haven't already read my Firefly series are invited to see what I can do with a military thriller that, in my not-so-humble-opinion, is one of the best war epics on fimfiction:

You must be humble as the author but I'm willing to call it the best war epic I've read. At the very least it's the highest effort war fic on the site.
