The Golden Oaks Bookstore (Y'all) - Deadline Extension · 3:35pm Jul 5th, 2019
Hello all!
As some of you may have noticed, I've been a bit AWOL over the last few days, which I want to start out by apologizing for. Turns out, the workweek prior to and around July 4th got kind of nuts for me, which leads me to believe that it was nuts for a lot of you as well. That, combined with the fact that a few folks have asked me about a potential extension to the July 7th deadline, has left me with the impression that extending said deadline would help out a fair number of people.
So, that being that, the new submission deadline for books to be included at the Bookstore is Sunday, July 14th. Hopefully the extra week of polishing and ordering time will ensure everyone who's able to participate isn't scrambling to get stuff finalized around holidays and whatnot.
Also, a note related to the word "deadline" there: since this the Bookstore is meant to be a community showcase, missing that deadline for submission doesn't necessarily mean you're fully locked out of the Bookstore. However, it does mean that any short summary you'd want to show off to shoppers wouldn't be included in the catalogs I'll print out for the booth, and that I wouldn't be able to include your book(s) in the list of available volumes I'll publish on FIMFic prior to the con. So, while it'd very likely equate to less public knowledge about your offerings, I'll stock anything I'm able to that's brought to me at the con prior to the vendor hall's official opening (further details about which will be forthcoming once the new submission deadline passes).
Hope this helps. See y'all in a month!
This new deadline should be perfect. Thanks for the update!
Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
>TFW I ordered my books and rushed to hit the deadline, got 10 misprinted books, then the deadline gets extended.

Seriously though, thank you so much for this! I was having some time issues and needed a few editors, so I was worried I'd have to wing a few stories in terms of proofreading. I may not be the next Dostoevsky, but I really wanted a polished product. Thank you, and see you soon!
5084665 Every single proof or order I've gotten back, I've opened up, read a page or two, then marked a first typo with a postit note (A typo that avoided a few years of editing, by the way). One of them I pulled out of the box and saw a typo on the cover. On the collection, I managed to get permission to add an author's story and was so happy *until* I looked at the back cover and realized I had forgotten to list an entire story by a different author (and goofed it up on the index too). And managed to forget to put any kind of legal disclaimer in it. The more I've wrestled with this little project, the more appreciation I have for the publishing industry (where the pickiest of picky people go to work).
(FedEx says my inventory box will show tomorrow. I can hardly wait to open it up and find out what's inside.)
Phew, thanks!
You’re the man, dog.

By the way, I’ve been trying to reply to your PMs and keep getting a server error. You don’t happen to have PMs/me blocked, do you?
(No worries if you do lol. Just had a weirdly tricky time interacting with you.)

Can you even block PMs? I shouldn't have them that way!!

Fixed!
Aquaman, while I've got you, join this group! There are still other things that need to be sorted out.
5084665 I know that feel bro.
What do you need to see as proof that we ordered the shizzle? ‘Cause I forgot, and I’m frantically working on last minute revisions. Damned section breaks keep moving around . . .
It's been awhile, so I'm a bit confused. Where can see the actual catalogue for what will actually be at the book stand? The only time I saw a list was for that survey that went out about a week ago.

Currently working on compiling that list. It'll be out on FIMFiction before the end of the weekend.

Do you also know which vendor table we'll be setting up at?
