A comment on my previous blog reminded me that I didn't update here yet, but it still won't be horribly long.

    I Live!

But I’m on a buttload of drugs and am going to pass out.

Surgery went great, even better than expected. I’ll elaborate more later.

    Until next time!

Recovery Update · 3:21pm Oct 18th, 2018

Heya, Folks!

I'm happy to say that aside from a few hiccups, recovery is moving forward quite well. I'm up and able to use my computer much more easily, walking around with a fair amount of strength in my legs, and I've been moved a few times from ICU to a different ICU to what's called 'Step-Down,' where I don't need to be monitored as thoroughly. Now they just want to get a few more rounds of dialysis in before they hopefully send me home within the next couple weeks (from what I'm hearing) and I'll do dialysis at home until they determine I need to come back for a new kidney (of which recovery is NOWHERE near as bad as a heart transplant, from what I hear). I'm not connected to any drip medications anymore—just an EKG, which is now wireless and allows me to get up and walk the floor without dragging a pole behind me.

Unfortunately, writer's block still has a hold of me, so I haven't been able to continue writing just yet, but I'll get there. One step at a time. In this case, literally so I don't get blood thinner shots three times a day. God, you should see the bruises. And that's to say nothing about the scars.

Until next time, everyone!

It's good to know you're feeling okay, my friend. A steady recovery is always better than a rough one.

I was just thinking about you yesterday and was hoping that you were doing alright. It's great that your recovery is going so well!

With all you've been through, you deserve a bit of a break. I know it must be so much to deal with but you always have a great attitude about everything.

You have my best thoughts and wishes, Dasher. Just rest and get better ...your muse will return soon! Take care!

I'm glad to hear you're well enough to get out of ICU.

Glad to hear that you're on the mend!

 (because I couldn't find a kidney emote)

Great to hear you're recovering well!

It’s great to hear from you, and even better to hear that you’re doing well and headed home soon. Enjoy that new ticker :raritywink:

Glad to hear you're doing better, Dasher! Don't worry about the writing, we'll be here when you're back at 100%!

Glad that it went well for you!

Writer's block is the least thing we care about Level. We're just glad your are doing alright!

Yay! Glad things are going well. Keep taking care of yourself. The writer’s block will eventually go away as well. :pinkiehappy:

Good to hear that you're now healing LD, take care of yourself! We can wait until your healed up before continuing your stories, your health comes first

Congratulations on the new heart. Hope your recovery continues to go as planned.
